Amidst fighting away tears, Nico had found her data pad again, pinching her fingers at the same place as before and dragged a holographic line to her ears. Earphones formed over them again, finally swallowing down that urge to cry. Not Your Fairytale by Back Seat Drivers came on, making her sort of smirk, her arm getting laid over her eyes again. She could hear that cackle again, though it was more of a growl of annoyance. Maybe even.... disappointment?

She didn't get to ponder it for long as she sensed movement near her, her arm moving immediately almost to attack. But then she realized it was Roran and stopped, sighing as she slid her hands over her ears, the headphones seemed to hang around her neck now. Tilting her bed up more, she fixed her coffee to her tastes and chuckled, taking a sip before answering him. "That is perfect. Thank you." She finally answered with a faint smile, realizing that she probably wouldn't be getting any sleep for a while now. Ah well. Maybe she'd look over the defense arrays, they were a little weak in the.....

Shaking her head, she noticed his smirk, cocking her head in the slightest. She almost asked what was up, but felt herself stop, deciding against it for one reason or another. It was almost funny how they both were now awkwardly silent, taking another sip at her coffee in order to mask her own. "So, where do you think Dreamer's would outreach to first in terms of countries? Most tend to think it would be England, and yet others insist it would be New Russia or China. I'm always interested in peoples answers." She asked, inwardly face palming since in the end all she could think of was something job related. Oi. They so failed at being normal teenagers.

Roran laid his head back and closed his eyes. At her question, however, an eyebrow cocked. "Eh? England, New Russia, China...." he stated the given options so far. "I think Dreamer's already has the world," he stated blatantly, "Their influence has everyone in one way or another." Falling silent, he thought it over. "If I were the heads of Dreamers, I'd go for Germany. They are a strong people, and have proven on multiple occaisions that they can take on the world. If you want to branch out politically, that's where to start too. It's an all around..." he couldn't think of a good word, "win." Good enough.

--oh...wow...everyone feels sorry for jane--
PostPosted: Fri Aug 27, 2010 7:25 pm

Nico sort of snort/chuckled at his initial response, shaking her head to herself since she didn't disagree. He hit that nail on the head. Though, his actual answer did catch her off guard. No one had said Germany yet. Looking up at the ceiling, she pondered upon that and slowly began to nod. "I could see that. They've already proved that they are good at genocide. World domination isn't too far off from that." She thought aloud, sipping at her coffee again.

"Since my family is Japanese, I know my parents were always interested in making a strong effort for their empire since they finally succeeded in taking some land on the main continent." She shook her head again as she remembered so many mentions of their homeland and whatnot. Back then she had thought her parents were talking politics and it probably wasn't entirely incorrect. Now she just knew better. "Personally I have no idea. I don't know enough of history to make an educated guess."

"Oi," he growled, looking at her sternly. "Don't lump all Germans together as one cooperative group. Many were forced into that, because it was a 'join or be killed' kind of thing. Don't insult them." Relaxing a little, he shook it off. "Anyways, Germany is the best logical standpoint. The only reason you'd choose any other would be for raw strength, but that can be beaten by tactics. Only a fool wouldn't pick Germany."

Nico was a bit taken aback, but she did seem to shrink a little more into her bed once she saw her error. A careless phrasing. "Sorry. I wasn't thinking." She mumbled, hiding inside her coffee mug as she took another sip. Twitching as she felt as if a finger had lightly run down her spine, she could hear that laugh again. Someone was amused. This concerned her. Ok. Maybe I am going mad. Rubbing her eyes, she felt the fresh dose of pain killers numb her wounds, exhaling slowly. "Or else they are after the technological aspect. Japan remains far ahead of most countries as they have for centuries. Even China pulled ahead once they gave up part of their land." She said softly, remembering how often her father would come home with new stories. At least.... if he came home at all.

"I'm sure the higher ups are planning for different scenarios should we not succeed in stopping them in time." She almost continued when she saw a hologram image of an envelope pop up, making her blink. Poking it with a finger, she read the text that appeared on the screen, her face falling further than it already had. Her hands seemed to move rapidly as she immediately went to write a reply, cracking her neck carefully once the reply was sent off. "Speaking of them, it appears I have a meeting to go to. This will be....interesting." She murmured, not seeming too surprised as a bot came up with her wheel chair, helping her carefully into it. She kept her datapad and coffee, not about to give either up. Lowering her eyes for a moment, she finally looked back up to him a little uncomfortably. "Um.... again, I'm sorry about the before mistaken statement. I'll.... hopefully not be too long. Maybe you should visit Jane since I think he's up." She glanced in the direction of their teammate, her gaze lowering once more as the bot began to wheel her towards the elevator.

--thank you.--

Jane groaned lightly as he woke up, not worried about his pain at all. Some of the nurses around him began to groan as he did, mostly in pain. As soon as he was fully awake and alert, he noticed one of the nurses doubling over and concentrated on keeping his pain to himself. It took a lot of work, as usual.

His fingers raked through his hair, tearing open one of his injuries. He cringed, and he glanced to the wound. "Shoot." He cursed, looking for a nurse to call her over.

Sighing as Nico left, he stood and walked over to Jane's bed. Watching the nurse as she finished up patching his arm yet again, he shook his head. He should be more careful. Looking at Jane in the eyes, he offered a small smile. "What's up, kid?"

Jane looked up at Roran, grinning for some odd reason. "The ceiling, I hope." He responded smoothly, laughing for however much it hurt. His orange eyes seemed clear for once, which could be interpretted as a good sign. At least, it meant that he was fully understanding what was going on. Perhaps that was a result of the fact that he had to concentrate to prevent those nurses from feeling his pain. He didn't know, nor did he care.

Smirking at Jane's answer, he shook his head. "Lame," he muttered, a chuckle escaping his lips. "How are you feeling? Your wounds keep reopening, so..." he trailed off, assuming the boy was in pain.

Jane quickly thought of a way to prove he wasn't in pain, although he was in extreme pain. Typical. "Does that nurse look like she's in pain?"
PostPosted: Sun Aug 29, 2010 10:08 pm

Crossing his arms, he looked at Jane sternly. He knows that we both know he can hide it, right? his face quickly relaxed as he shrugged slightly. "Oi, so it's that bad, eh? You know it's not a bad thing to let people worry, right? You're hurt, let us worry. If we were hurt, you would worry, so there's no point in being hypocritical." Pulling up his chair, he sat down softly, crossing his legs. "It's okay to let people worry, it shows they care."

Jane nodded simply. The nurse left them alone, leaving the room empty other than Jane and Roran. Of course, now Jane stopped hiding his pain and groaned again. His face was quenched slightly, looking at Roran. "It isn't really that bad. I've had worse...I think." Thinking for a moment, he continued. "The only reason I don't like people worrying is because it distracts them from the main thing that they need to worry about: themselves."
PostPosted: Mon Aug 30, 2010 6:26 am

Wincing inwardly at the sudden rush of pain, it wasn't the pain that had caused him to wince, but the surprise of it. Gritting his teeth, he relaxed after a moment of getting used to it. Shaking his head, he placed his elbows on the chair's armrests, and locked his fingers together, holding his hands near his face. "And what if they don't need to worry about themselves? Humans need compassionate relationships, and as such they will worry about those who they have such relationships with. Worry is a natural feeling, whether you're worrying about yourself, or about others." Stopping, he realized it was probably pointless. And even if he did convince Jane here, the kid would forget it by tomorrow. Sighing to himself, he just watched Jane.

It didn't take too long for her to arrive at the upper floors, not at all surprised to see a bit of chaos everywhere. Some were running about to deliver things, or go from one console to another. After moving through what some may have thought of as a maze, they reached what would seem to be the center of the room. There was a large table of sorts, a holographic image of the city rising from it's slippery black surface. The lights were dimmed so they could see better, a man and woman arguing over something as they pointed to a section of the city. Nico couldn't make out clearly what they said, but it was certainly a heated discussion.

Her eyes then fell upon another pair. A man and woman who seemed very similar in feature and stature. Hell, even the way they carried each other was similar. "Catherine. Richard." She spoke as the bot stopped a few feet behind them, waiting patiently as they finished their discussion. They were at a smaller table similar to the one in the center, another hologram clearly defined between their arms, especially when Richard went to point at something. Sipping her coffee, she cast her eyes to the numerous voices and bodies that were flowing about the large room, sighing lightly to herself. Some still looked like they were still recovering from injuries. Never stop moving do we? She mused to herself.

Catherine was the first to look over to Nico, the twins nodding to each other as if to confirm a plan.

"Greetings Grimm. How are the injuries healing up?" Catherine asked with an easy, yet tired smile. The woman was rather distinctive with her red hair and green eyes. Her skin was smooth and tan despite the hours that were spent underground in their home.

Nico sort of just tilted her head as if to shrug considering she really couldn't due to the one injury. "Fine, just fine. So what do you need me for?" She asked softly, her eyes darting briefly to where she could hear Gladys answering a question.

This time it was Richard who answered, although he seemed a little uncomfortable to do so. "How is your team looking?" He asked awkwardly, his bright sea blue eyes appearing as tired as his sister did.

Now her brows furrowed. Something must be up. "Jane can barely move without reopening something, Roran has a minor cut with his tongue but he's no worse for wear. I have no idea where Gabriel is but I believe he's fine, Amaya is also MIA at the moment with no idea to her condition, and Ayame is also MIA with no idea to her condition. Give me another night and I'll be good." She answered, looking between the two of them, her lips tightening a bit. "Ok, enough with the act, whats up?" She muttered, a trickle running down her spine in discomfort.

Exhaling slowly, Catherine touched a hand to her brothers arm, telling him that he didn't have to speak. "We're in an uncomfortable position here Sister Grimm. After the last assault, we know they've begun to attempt to negate your teams powers. They've already succeeded with one. We..." Glancing to her brother, she grimaced and ran a hand frustratedly through her hair.

"Oh sod it, Nico. I'm sorry, but we need someone to do an infiltration mission to find out exactly how far they have gotten, how they have succeeded so, and shut down this operation immediately. If possible, we would like another team to address the issue of how they have power users of their own. If possible, we would like them taken out, or converted to our cause."

Richard stepped forward and held out a data pad to her, clearly trying to contain something though it wasn't clear what. "This came in specifically for you. Rob had someone take a shot at it, but it burned their fingers with a slight shock. It's uh..."

Nico tensed, reaching out a hand to take the datapad carefully. She was vehement. She was upset. She was mad. She was apprehensive. Even a little scared. Memories washed over her and she closed her eyes, placing it in her lap with the other one she still had. "I'll look at it later. For now, you just want me to speak with my team for a volunteer? At least of those that can?" She asked, for the moment just trying to confirm what they wanted.

Catherine nodded once, glancing over her shoulder as a holographic image of Gladys popped up with a report. "Yes. We don't want Jane to go in any case since he's so easily identifiable. Besides, we don't want him running into his uncle. No telling what may occur there. Gabriel we don't know if we recommend either. We believe he may have familial ties to Dreamer's though these are largely unconfirmed. We are even including you on this. You know their systems better than anyone. At the most, the infiltration team may have two people. Dismissed." She spoke, starting to turn when she stopped and paused, touching Nico on her good shoulder. "Report to us if possible what is on that datapad. And if you want to talk-"

She touched Catherine's hand, managing a faint smile as she looked up to her. "Of course. Thanks. I'll have a report shortly." She said softly, the bot then wheeling her back towards the hospital wing. All the way back her mind reeled, her emotions rather unstable, the flickering lights a reflection of it.
