Why they are hott
Because, not only are they hott in their own rights. They look so good together! Both have gorgeous long hair- Johnny's is just a tad more... gravity defying. Not to mention that their colouring complements each other- Black and Red = shmex.
Why they would work
There's also the fact that it would fit in with their personalities. Eg- since we all know that Kai wants to kidnap Rei and whisk him off to an island where they can -fu... erm... flower pick... all day Johnny would so get with Rei just to piss off Kai. Not a noble reason but since when has Johnny ever been a noble person. I picture them as having a one night stand with Rei wanting a true relationship and Johnny having satisfied his... needs... moving on.
Rei on the other hand would be more emotional about it. He would probably believe all of the things that Johnny told him while our crafty Scotsman was preparing to -fu- flower pick our beloved neko. Rei would probably fall in love with Johnny because of his pure confidence and arrogance- a nice complement it his personality- no?

Why they might not work
Let's face it, they barely ever see each other in the series and when they do they don't speak. At all. Also, Rei is fairly loyal to Kai and probably wouldn't begin flower picking with a guy who's Kai's arch nemesis.
Reason why I moved on to This being my favourite pairing
Because I wanted to be original. Johnny and Rei's personalities mesh so well together and yet hardly anyone has cottoned on to this fact. I want to be the Queen of a pairing. JohnnyRei is my choice for the above reasons.
