The old woman's face was an endless valley of wrinkles, time harshly marking her features. Her fine grey eyebrows were set beneath a pile of creases, knitted together in frustration at the young girl who had come to her aid.

"Did I ask fer ye help, childling? If I had wanted ye to bundle me up like a wee babe, I'd have asked for it."

She threw off the helping hands of the girl, wobbling slightly as the fury of her journey overcame her. She glared at the girl, as though she had done something unforgivable to the old woman, and stamped to the fire, shaking out the last vestiges of the biting cold.

The woman curled into a seat by the fire, her glower as heated and dangerous as the flames she used as a shield against the night. She wrapped her hands tight beneath her sodden rain-cloak, her white-knuckled hand shaking with frailty of her age. Silence stretched out from her, settled to the shape of her shoulders as comfortably as the old sack cloak she wore. Her eyes were fixed on the flames, though she was clearly listening, with half an ear at the very least, to the conversations going on between the denizens of the Outpost.

namidar chuckled "it's not the compas its the geography around here" he picked a small black stone off the ground and then stuck it to the sword on his back, it didn't fall "this section of the mountain is pretty magnetic so its making your compass wonky" he noticed how unerved the woman was at seeing a drow but he didn't comment on it

Holding out the tankard for the gelfling to claim, he watches and listens, sharing a drink with both her and Namidar. It was when a newcomer made their way to the cusp of the encampment that he noticed heads turning in her direction.

Cyn'gus looked around the camp for Annoi and his aunt who were walking back, following the old weary woman making her way to the opposite side of the fire. Roesor's comment made him look back at her, but from far away he was unable to make out what she was refering to. He knew better than to distrust her instincts though. Thusfar, the gelfling had sensed many things that had later come to pass.

He stood, taking in the activity around him. Knowing that one new visitor had made thier way to the fire and that another was still waiting at the edge of camp, he decided to make his way to welcome them.

"I think I might be able to help with your compass problem. If you'd like, you are welcome to warm yourself here by the fire and take in a meal too."

namidar seemed intrested now "really special? how so? im a blacksmith myself so new insturments and such are always nice" he realized he might be overwhelmeing her and stopped "sorry i can see your nervous...well we drow have a bad reputation so i cant blame you"

Ember takes the offered drink and seat with a thank you before turning to look to the one who had approached her first, she responds a bit more naturaly having a topic of her interest pop up unexpectedly. "Well its unique in a couple ways, I'm an artificier you see, i realy like to tinker around with magical items, i also forge on occasion, although i'm currently out of work. this little beauty is something i'm still perfecting it not only tells direction but it can point you to large sources of magic , that little aspect is still a little off, i can show you." Hitting a button on the bottom the compas head flips over showing another needle it spins wildly for a bit before settling in the direction of a nerby magic source. "Its still a bit limited but i'm workin on it." She finishes as it spins again. glaring at the contraption she gives it another shake before returning it to its holder.

Smiling at the offer of work, Ember says in her down to bussiness tone, "Well that would depend on the sise of the order you want done, what the order is and weather its magical or mundane, then of course theres the pricing. I'd still need to find a forge i could use but i suppose i could help." A spark of creative interest flashing in her golden eyes, as she takes a sip of her drink.

Lowering her drink a thoughtful expression crosses Ember's face as she does some mental math, then replies "Well adamantine is a fairly expensive mettal, difficult to forge as its near impossible to reforge, i realy just need access to an anvil, at the least, it depends on the craft style do you want them folded, or molded, folded is a bit more expensive as its harder to craft and there harder still to break that way, i have the tools. I'm not sure where to set up a shop however, hell i've wandered far and i'm not sure exactly where i am. As far as the underdark goes I could travel there, your probably right on the other drow down there, so if i did travel there a disguise spell would probably be a good idea." Her expression turning thoughtfull once again.
