(( I do not know whether to cry or laugh, congratulations. )) Another familiar voice, and the Overseer's head jerked up, alert and perhaps a little more than frightened. He looked all around until he spotted the crazy colors that belonged to Bapp, who was currently in a tree, connected to his wicked weapon, and the strangeness of it all almost distracted him from Harata's condition. He wanted to ask how long the young man had been there, but thought it was unwise to nit-pick on details. He made a helpless gesture towards Harata with his eyes, and shrugged his shoulders, refusing to remove his hands where they were applying pressure to the wound. "She is wounded. If you are thinking it was my fault, it was not."

"Why would I think it's your fault? But man, you suddenly disappeared, and I had to look for you... Well, that's not important now. We need to bring her indoors. Outside isn't a very good enviroment for first aid." He pulled the chain out of the tree and jumped down.
"You're in no good condition either. I'll do it." Bapp said, taking the girl from his hands and carried her, while applying pressure on the wound, the same place the Overseer had.
"I want an explanation later, for now, let's move!" Bapp shouted, running towards the temple.

"Uh ... right." He replied lamely at last, and he did not have a single complaint when Bapp took the unconscious Harata from him. It seemed right that Bapp was with these people, so it had to be a good excuse to leave Harata's fate in his hands. And even if Bapp meant her harm, he did not think he could do much about it at this point, and achingly slow, the Overseer stood once more. He lagged behind even as Bapp shouted at him to follow, and he glanced over at Kyo.
"Kyo, you should go with them ... to help." By and by, his thoughts turned languidly over in his mind, and while he never thought himself a coward, nor was he suicidal. Something about the temple both powerfully attracted and repelled him - sands of a loose memory falling between the cracks. He first took a slow step backwards, and then another, his nerve failing. Then he turned and ran for the countless time that day.

Bapp kicked the Temple door open and ran inside, setting the girl down on one of the pews.
"I bought some first aid earlier, so I'll be able to do some temporary treatment for now." He said, pulling the kit out of his bag.
"Whitehair! You-" He turned to see him gone. "He disppeared again? What's with him?" Bapp turned to the kid instead. "You, go find someone who lives around this area and ask for help. We can look for Whitehair later. She takes priority!" Bapp turned back to the girl and admistered a painkiller, before starting to stitch the wound.
((For some reason I'm feeling slighty high =__= What's going on... Maybe cos' I'm pretty sleepy...))

(( Crazy time-zones. I will plan then to sleep in the next hour or so. Please, excuse me if my writing is progressively getting sloppier. )) As he reached the end of his waning ability, the painful stab in his sides made running less than pleasant. He had to stop again, even though he had not gotten particularly far, noticing that he had given Kyo the slip in addition to fleeing Bapp a second time. However, it did not feel like any victory to celebrate. Panting with his hands on his knees, his mouth feeling like he had been eating dry cotton, he coughed hoarsely and looked back over his shoulder. He almost wiped his chin with the back of his hand, but he saw the blood there on his skin. Instead he straightened his back, and alone, for a moment all the whirlwind events came down crashing on him at once. The Overseer would not run from those who needed his help. Instead he made the walk filled with shame back to the temple. Ducking his head, he slipped past the temple doors, and a shiver ran down his spine. He kept his eyes fixed on the floor and just right before him. And quietly he asked, "Do you think she will live?"

"Ah, you're back." He grinned. "Yeah, she will. She'll be unconscious for awhile because of blood loss, but otherwise, with some rest she'll be fine." He walked over to the Overseer and inspected his condition.
"You too. How did you get injured like this? Were you two fighting?" He dragged the Overseer over to another pew and sat him down, then brought the first aid kit over.
"And this was supposed to be for another month or so... Stay still, it'll sting a bit." Bapp said, wiping off the blood then using alcohol to disinfect the wound, before applying the rest of the first aid.
((Alcohol~ Graaaaaaaagh gonk ))

As he was herded over promptly to sit, he had almost forgotten about his hand. Every complaint his body had had become one universal ache and the words to fend Bapp off was there on the tip of his tongue, until he saw the torn skin on his fingers. Instead he frowned, but it was only half-hearted and faded. It just felt nice to be able to sit down.
But where the sea gulls had gotten him, it hurt freshly anew now. The muscles in his jaw jumped when Bapp administered the disinfectant, and he didn't know he was holding his breath until his lungs burned. Letting the air out, he relaxed only a little - just enough that he didn't have a deathgrip on the pew anymore. He also didn't realize he was leaning the farthest he could go from Bapp, "Are you sure this is necessary?"
And then thinking twice to ask better questions, he added a few answers first, "We were not fighting. ... Or rather, yes and no. This was from a sea gull, and Harata ... the ... she, had the wound previously. She had overexerted herself and collapsed. You are not angry with me?"

"Huh? Why would I be?" Bapp said, applying the gauze and bandages. "I'm sure the seagulls were pretty frightening. I'm just glad you're safe. I'd feel pretty bad if anyone died on my watch."
He stood up and readjusted his hat.
"But it's strange, huh. Violent seagulls." He turned back to the man. "But why were you fighting with a girl? That's not very gentlemanly at all."

"Thank you." He said quietly, learning from Harata that in sincerity the less that was said meant the most. The Overseer flexed his wrapped fingers experimentally, but he immediately quit that when the new stiffness settling in began to hurt too much. Instead he let his arms rest on his legs, a befuddled expression on his face while he made an effort trying to ignore the bandage. He wasn't only saying that he was thankful, but he looked incredibly grateful as well.
"You mean that you cannot see it? She is one of the Sentinel's. I had attempted to disable her so that she could not return to her fellows, but it was she that pursued me after that." He paused, but continued to reiterate the events in hopes that Bapp would forget his initial question. "She ran after me and it lead to her catching up and tackling me. It was likely that had done it, leading to her wound reopening. I was only defending myself at that point. I could have let her die out there on the beach ..."

"Waaaaaaaaaaah, you old-fashioned people. Seriously!" Bapp groaned loudly.
"The war is over. You guys still care about this kind of thing? Geez!" He walked towards the door.
"I'll get some food for you guys. Take care of her. I'll be back shortly." He walked out of the door, heading towards the diner.

(( I am going to get some sleep, Bapp! I am sorry I cannot stay up any longer, and feel free to drag the Pseudoverseer wherever you want him. )) "It is not old-fashioned ... I was provoked ..." He murmured but Bapp was likely already out of earshot, and it didn't really sound like the Overseer was very confident in that statement either way. But once Bapp had left the room, promising to be return soon, he found himself with another rare moment alone. In exasperation, he almost ran his hands over his face, but again, he could still see the dark drying blood between the creases of his skin. Instead he glanced around his surroundings for the first time - bad idea. He almost lost his nerve again, thinking that this place, that this temple was much too lavish and important. Studying how the room was decorated in the same colors as his bloodstained robe, it felt like the bottom of the floor had given out on him. These people were real and truly devout follows of B.O.O. His thoughts began their feverish pace once again, trying to piece together more of his broken past, but his head felt like it was floating up somewhere near the ceiling. Before he knew what was happening, he rested his cheek against the cool surface of the pew, thinking he would only close his eyes for a moment until things stopping spinning again. He fell fast asleep a second later, exhaustion catching up with him.

"I'm back~!" Bapp called out as he returned to the temple with takeaway in his hand.
"Ah. They're sleeping." He put the food down next to a pew and walked over to the girl, pulling his cloak over her body and then putting his jacket over the white-haired man.
"Today's been pretty weird, huh..." He sighed as he lay down on another pew himself. "My reservation at the inn too... what a waste of money..." He sighed as he drifted off to sleep on the uncomfortable wooden pew.
((Letting Bapp sleep as well as there's no one online to rp with me crying ))
