Adela caught Schraeder as well as she could, though she had to follow him on the way down to the floor. At least his eyes are better, and I know the rest of his body is. He was just worn out. At least I hope so. God knows I am. She laid him carefully on the floor and stood up. She almost blacked out on her way to standing. Huh. Hope neither of them noticed that.

She'd been lucky. If Schraeder hadn't passed out when he did, she probably would have.

Even better, Xu was there! And he was talking to the Host. Oh goodie. We have help. Xu was only a few feet in front of the two Adams, so she didn't have to show how tired she was while standing besides Xu. "He's as healed as he can get." As far as tiredness went, she had no idea how long he'd be out.

"So..." she looked uneasy. What do I say? "Hey, what's it like to eat people?" "Thanks for not eating anyone?" Okay. That wasn't very tactful. "What's your name?"

Saieve winced, "Um...you're welcome..." he said awkwardly. He didn't like being reminded that he eats people now. But it only reassured his acceptance of the Hunger.
He rose to his feet, "Me llamo Saieve Driskoll." he said, holding out a hand only to realize that he was holding out a slaughterfist, "Um, yeah, nevermind...and your names?" he asked, scratching his head with the hand he had previously offered.

Trust? Xu regarded the Host, suspiciously. What is he trying to do? Xu slowly came closer to the Host.

"My names Xutian Su. Just call me Xu. It's a pleasure to meet you, Saieve," Xu stated, more of a formality than anything. Sub-consciously, Xu extended his hand in good gesture, and etiquette. It was too late when he had notice what he had done. If I took my hand back now, it would only serve to provoke. Steadily, Xe kept his arm outstretched towards Saieve.

Adela gave a half-smile. Unconsciously, she felt a little trust go out to the poor Host. Well, he and I have a bit of common ground. People tend to trust more when they had something in common. For the Host and Eve, that meant language.

"Me llamo Adela." She held up a hand to give a small wave.

"Since you seem keen on following us," she continued, "mind telling me why? I know you said Agent A made a promise with you, but that doesn't give us a whole lot of information." She didn't want to pressure the man or cause tension. I just want to know what's going on here.

"Pleasure to meet you,, Xu." Saieve said, nodding towards Xu. Saieve eyed his hand, uncertain of whether or not to shake it. "If you insist." he muttered before extending his hand once more and shaking Xu's hand, being sure not to squeeze too hard or scratch him.
He smiled, the idea, even if it wasn't true, that his mutations didn't completely put off some people was a pleasant thought.

He waved at Adela, "Es un placer conocerte."

Saieve thought for a moment. Should I tell them about Fin? he wasn't sure how they would take that, they could think that his alliance would only be based on Fin. Well, they asked about A, so I'll explain that.

"Well," he began, "The last time our two sides met, I kind of fought Agent A, but the fight didn't last long. I decided to stop fighting, seeing the other hosts lose control to their Hunger, and try to talk to A, find out why they were doing this.

This led to me convincing him to help me control my Hunger, even just a little bit. He said something about getting back into the program, so here I am now."

Xu was glad the shake hadn't resulted in him missing a hand. He doesn't seem that bad. One of the nicest Hosts I've met.

"So..." Xu started after listening to Saieve's explanation. "You plan to stick around, hoping to find Host-Agent A? Then perhaps, joining the program to learn how to better control your virus? " It sounded like Saieve was trying to become a Host-Agent.

Speaking of Host-Agents... Xu couldn't help but wonder what had happened to Johann. They hadn't caught sight of him since they had entered the base.

Saieve nodded, "Yup, that's pretty much it."

"Huh." Well that explained Saieve. What about the others? Eh. Too much info in one sitting. "Hey Xu, we should head back to the van. Get Schraeder out of here." She hoped that he could lift Schraeder on his own; she certainly couldn't do anything else. I wouldn't mind a cane right now.

Xu eyed Schraeder up and down. The man was considerably bigger the Xu, and perhaps even heavier. In any case Xu wouldn`t be able to lift him on his own. Flicking his hand, 4 vines popped from the ground, each taking one of Schraeder`s limbs. Gently, they lifted him up until he was about three feet off the ground. The vines proceeded forward, creating a deep line as they went. The vine moved slowly, not being built for this method of digging through the Earth. Xu watched it awhile before, following it, keeping his concentration on Schrader. Xu didn't want to drop him by accident.

"This is the best I can, at least until we get to the trees over there," Keho motioned at Adela.
The distraction almost caused the Vines to drop Schraeder. Throw some people across the room? Fine. Gently carry a wounded person out of a military base? Harder. Xu didn't have enough experience with his Sigil to do such delicate tasks without concentration yet.

Saieve began to walk with the two, watching Xu manipulate the vines with steady concentration. "You want some help?" Saieve offered, "I'll understand if you don't want me touching him, but the offer's out there."

Adela watched Schraeder move along with the vines carefully. "Just watch him and that'll be enough." She used everything that she had to save him, she wasn't going to watch all that effort go to waste.

She walked along side them, unfortunately swaying with every step. s**t. I can't walk straight. This wasn't good. Every step she took was taking everything she had, and they weren't even walking fast! She heard Saieve's offer but wasn't sure whether to take it up. Oh screw it, I'm about to pass out here, and Xu can't carry both Schraeder and me. "Oye," she called out. "I could use a little help here." She must have been walking like a drunk person - at least, that was how she felt.

If he hurts me, I'll wound him with whatever I have left. It'd probably enough to bruise his body, but it'd knock her out for sure. And then Xu would be left alone to look after the two Eves. Don't let my trust be misplaced now.

Keho shook his head, politely refusing Saieve`s offer. He was getting the hang of it now. They were moving considerably faster than their pace before. Without turning to face her, Xu asked Adela "Do you remember the place where the van is?" He turned his head slightly, noticing Adela swaying as she walked. She must've used everything to take care of Schraeder. Looking over at Saieve, he motioned him to go help her. As their eyes met, Xu shot him a glance, one that said, You better not make me regret trusting you.

They were nearing the tree line now, only a dozen feet left. It wouldn't be long now until they reached safety.

Saieve glanced over to Adela and noticed her swaying. He made his way over to her and supported her just before she looked like she would collapse.
"I've gotcha." he said as he gripped her around her waist and looped her arm over his shoulders.

"So, uh, how do you think your other friends will take to me?" he asked Adela.
PostPosted: Sun Jan 17, 2010 7:54 pm

Adela didn't mean to lean on the Host, but she had no choice. "My friends? You're looking at them." With Fin gone, the Eves around were dwindling down. She tried her hardest to concentrate on walking to the van. "And Xu," she added, "the van's a little past the forest. Maybe a little bit to the right from here."

She really wanted to sleep. What I wouldn't give for a nice soft bed. The group was now going through the forest. I guess Xu can change from vines to trees now.

"Hm...it always seemed like there were more of you guys." Saieve said more to himself than anyone else. I wonder where Fin is. Saieve couldn't help but wonder where his brother was, but Xu was too focus and Adela was too tired. Saieve didn't want to pester either with questions.

He probably didn't even come with them, I haven't seen him at all.
