In true Erik fassion, the boy snorted and took a few steps back.. as if warry of her now that she had seen him without his armor in place. " Dont use words i dont understand." 'Home' was honestly a word he had never learned.. but from her voice he could gues at what it ment, and that made him even more uneasy. It represtented everything he lacked.. everything that he couldnt have. Backing towards the door again he tensed to run, looking around the hall as if afraid the walls would attack him for entering such a place.. a home. " I didnt know.. i'll go."

Giving a slight nod, the boy was gone. it seemed near a hour before there were footsteps on the stairs, the door kicking in as Quin stalked across the floor. he took one look at her and his magic spiked up, his movements smooth as he pulled her into his arms. " Who do i need to kill, little one?" he hesitated.. then stiffened as he asked curiously. " Erik.. im glad he found you."

Erik, hiding just beyond the door, winced at that. he misunderstood, thinking Quin was blaiming him for the womans injuries. gritting is teeth he hissed in annoyance, standing away from the door to leave. he did as promised, and it was clear he wasnt need here.

Almost knocking into Erik as he departed, the petite-hooded figure stiffened, hands pressed firmly against his chest before either of them collided. It wasn't intentional, simply habit.

"Sorry," she said quietly. Long wavy blonde hair spilled from beneath the hood, the hands that had rested against his chest were tightly bound with bandages. If he'd seen her eyes, they would've surely held the age and wisdom of a seasoned fighter.

"Excuse me, please."

Stepping into the room, Mim spotted Quin and Phantom immediately and froze. She was crying? She'd seen her cry before but never...never like this.

"Phantom?"

Erik hissed again, this time from pain as she pressed against his bandaged wounds. ignoring it he let her pass, rubbing the back of his neck as he felt his own magic spike when Quin's did. " What is a friend?"

Quin's hair bristled with the violent energy he was putting off, his wiry frame tense as he kept his gaze on the floor.. not wanting his companions to see the need to kill in his eyes. these two had known him before he had become this.. in truth, he wanted them to remember who he had been instead of the ruthless killer he was now. " Avarice has returned.. which means we are running out of time." at last gaining control over his insticnt he lifted his head, saying quietly. " Erik, you told me.. tell them."

Physically bristling the boy let his head fall forward, his eyes hidden behind his hair as he asked snidly. " Because im one of them, right?" at Quins nod the boys mouth turned into a thin line.. but he answered all the same. " Jack the Ripper is back. With Avarice revived the killer has no reason to wait anymore. They wont hurt your daughter, thief." he paused, then flicked a tooth pick over his shoulder as he left them.. his snarky attitude once again in its full glory. " And.. the Idolians have split into two factions, one to protect and one to kill. That is all the shadows wish to share."

Quin watched him go.. looking at Phantom and Mim as he shook his head. " For all his attitude, he knows whats going on. Where have you been, Mim...?"

Phantom looked up at Mim and shook her head. "I don't know how to stop him anymore. He has more necromancers then before and in a flash he gave me cuts across my back. He didn't even move I don't think." She looked over at Quin and slowly sat up, not trusting to stand yet. "I don't know what to do, where to go. I'm nothing, a no body. Someone for everyone to use."

Mim grinned wickedly, her fingers absentmindedly caressing Rin's mating mark upon her palm. "Join the Idolians? I'd love to," she said excitedly, a renewed flame lighting within her amber eyes.

"I miss Puck," she added, "it'd be nice, I think, getting to witness what spawned not only he, but you as well. Bain too." As an afterthought, she wondered if the invitation would be extended to Mina and Gage also. They were Rin's children.

"Come on, Phantom, forget my father. You're a thousand times stronger than him. You just need...alittle reassurance." She smiled and nodded to Quin, a silent promise that they could fix this. Bring Phantom back from her heartbreak, renew that spark she'd lost somewhere down the road.

"How do we join Quin?"

"Pissy old Jackal, eh?" Tossing her parasol into the air, Mim caught it effortlessly and smiled. "Guess I'll take this," she said, "you know, if the s**t hits the fan..."

Kneeling infront of Phantom, she kissed her forehead. "Stay here, okay? Gather your wits and I'll ask on your behalf." Nudging her, she added, "If he says no, I'll kick his a** twice as hard. For the two of us."

Slipping her hood back on, she hurried off. Mim was determined and with her single-mindedness, that was terribly dangerous. For whom though, that had yet to be determined.
