Kal watched as the group beat the bandits senseless. "Nice fighting," he commented loud enough for them to hear. He didn't care if he was noticed now. He stepped out of the shade into the clearing area that they had been fighting in.

(....Not sure, did the caravan move on yet? :sweatdrop/scratches head smile ah well.
Erron steps down from the wagon after helping bandage the wounded, wiping the blood from his hands on the pant-leg of one of the dead bandits when he spots a halfling wearing dark eastern styled clothing. "Whats this" he murmurs to himself before shouting to the man "I certainly hope you aren't here to avenge your boss, I'd have to say you're a bit late and a few men short!" He motioned to the caravan leader that everyone was bandaged, as comfortable as they could be, and ready to move.
He continues. "What is your business?"

Laren pulled her blades free from her kills and cleaned them by wiping the bodies with the blades before searching for anything useful on them.
When the halfling appeared he peaked her curiousity, "Indeed, was are you here for?" she asked after jumping down from the tree, "Your a bit late for the party it would seem."

Kal chuckled. "I actually caught the second half. You're all quite good. I'm here to start traveling myself. You all were quite noisy with your fighting. Thought you might need somebody that would be slightly quieter, and a caravan makes travel easier on me," he replied, and explained. He bowed, brushing the robe aside slightly in respect. "Names Kal, by the way," he adds on, needing their trust. Halflings weren't well known for their trustworthiness, but rather their theivery and slyness(spell?). For this reason, he made sure to not get to close. He didn't want them to think he was after gold, though if he joined and was accepted, he'd partake in the spending when it was needed.

Selce watched the bolts stun the bandit long enough for Prometheus to finish him. She had already moved to check the dwarf at her feet. As she felt the not quite warm flesh she knew he was dead. Selce could feel the tears begin to come but she steeled herself and hefted the dwarf with a grunt. She just barely managed to get him to the back of the wagon she had been in.
As the caravan was nearly ready to leave, and Erron shouted out to a halfling, Selce tensed at the unexpected arrival but moved closer to Erron. As she stood next to him she took measure of the halfling. "Does he wish a fight?" She asked Erron a spell filling her mind and fingers ready to work the necessary gestures.

Prometheus took his blade out of the bandit's heart, and sheathed them, not bothering to rid the blades of the blood stained. His adrenaline was still pumping, and amongst his loving trees, he felt unbeatable. Then as the halfling appeared he unsheathed his blades again, and took up a defensive stance once again. After the halfling explained himself, he blurted out,"How do we know we can trust you? Most of your race just want gold, and to steal," he spat out.

Tjaden snorted at the halfling. "The real question is if we have any say. This isn't our caravan. If Phineas wants the half-pint to tag along...then the little legs can come along, if he can keep up." Despite his open attitude, Tjaden's dislike was plain. He didn't want to associate with any dubious characters. While Erron exhibited signs of following a code, the sneaky little halflings were much more...liberal.

((Kai I love your post, its so well written.))
"Oh come now, saying all Halflings are thieves is like saying all elves live in the forests," Laren was quick to chime in, "Or that all Orcs are blood thirsty savages. Such sweeping generalizations have gotten many people killed for such thinking leads to the inability to adapt."
The young elf woman then turned to the Halfling, "You say you wish to join us in guarding this caravan? Then I'll lead to Phineas," and with that she walked over the caravan leader and said bluntly, "We got another mercenary.”

Kal smiled at the young feminine elf. Very trusting, nice, and open-minded. Very balanced. For with her weakness of trust, she had the strength of an open mind. Means she could turn even the smallest of rocks into a great weapon. He liked her. He followed her towards the leader. He offered an extra bow to... Phineas, as the girl said. He liked the girl's trust, but if Phineas didn't want him, none of it mattered. He added one more thing, "Besides. One less head to kill, and one more ally. Doesn't sound bad to me. And why would I, one wise Halfling, try to steal from a caravan that now knows my name and has seen my face, when I am so outnumbered?" he asked. He may've loved stealing, and took every safe oppurtunity he could, but he was no moron. 5 to 1 was not good odds. He hoped that swayed them slightly into trusting him.

The elf caravan master's light-hearted aura was once again apparent as he viewed the miniature being. The merchant extraordinaire always had a keen eye for honest adventurers.
"Well, my good fellow, you may appear to be of a seedier sort than I typically allow amongst my caravan, but given the fact that you, I assume, have witnessed the guards and mercenaries whom surround this convoy, I will make the judgement that you will not attempt to do anything.. unlawful whilst among us."
He let those words ring in the air for a moment before smiling once again.
"So, with that out of the way, welcome aboard!"
He yelled once again,
"We're moving out, all carriages, forward!"

Kal smiled toward the kind hearted leader. He was quite the white knight. He hopped in one of the carriages, ready to head off to the next area. He looked off into the distance with his dark brown eyes. His brown hair knotted as usual, sat on his shouldars and neck. He awaited everyone else to be prepared to go. He had three daggers onn him and some traps, so he figured he could hold his own if any one person tried to take him. He just hoped he didn't have to test that theory. He didn't want to hurt an ally. He sat against the back left corner of the caravan. He let his eyes stay watchful though. First night in a new group. He trusted them as much as they trusted him.
((Edit. It was too small for my liking.))

Laren smiled, which was an all to uncommon ccurrence when she was with people, as Phineas accepted the halfling into the group. Tuthfully she didn't trust him as far as she could throw him, but the fact that he had shown himself proved to her that he had at least some courage and that was enough for him to gain her vote.
As she ran offin front of the caravan for a bit of scouting she called to Zeus, "Can you please keep an eye on our newest member? I fear the others my try something... Or he might..." with that Zeus flew off, a little further into the caravan he had been before.

Prometheus sheathed his scimitars, and took his place next to the caravan. Feeling bad for his rudeness towards the halfling, he remained quite until someone where to directly ask him a question, and listened to the trees, and grass whisper to him. Who doesn't like the forest? Prometheus thought to himself, as the forest was everything to him.

(lol you might have to do better than just Kai...as there are two of us..plus a character named Kal...never had this problem before razz ))
"The stereotype pertaining to my race, while misguided and misunderstood, is very well founded. The same can be said for many creatures. A rose by any other name..." Despite his eloquent language, the last statement seemed more of a growl.
Since the halfling had not committed any crimes yet, Tjaden really didn't pay him any mind, at least not any more than needed to ensure a 10 foot distance at all times. For the first time since Erron had adopted him into the group, Tjaden wondered if their trust would become as much of a weakness as it was a strength. Tjaden bit his tongue, though, for it he had yet to be bitten by such a mistake.
