She at least seems like a nice, normal cheerful girl. Maybe my uneasiness is just because Father's gone... and some of our guardsmen still have lasting injuries from last spring? No. Something will happen, it just hasn't yet! She just has nothing to do with it.

"Um..." Sue, although becoming versed in conversation now was still a tiny bit awkward about it. "What brings you here, Miss Jyoti?" she asked kindly. Travellers came to Eyris every so often. She must be one of them, Sue guessed.

Victoria heard the voices of her fellow bishops, Jin and Rhys. "Well, fancy meeting you here, isn't it? And as you know... the 'cavalier' is without a horse, so that makes him an armored axefighter. It's very interesting to watch... especially when I know both of them will need healing afterwards." ♫ That last part, she was especially joyful to say. "They're both very prideful fighters, the two of them. I'd say it's the first match in the arena that was even... then again..." she motioned to Steely Dan, her new acquaintance. "He's been the challenger all this time so..."

Leon was pleased. He drew the sniper out in the open, where he'd have nowhere to hide. He'd be able to aim and swing effortlessly. Now if only he could shrug off the horrible feeling in the pit of his stomach... If I end this quickly, that won't matter.

He made a charge toward Arashe, acting like he was gonna swing left, but he swung his axe right at just the last minute.

Ed heard Ziaram utter something about a good omen as she continued gazing the skies. She explored the clouds, the streaks in the sky, as though attempting to read something. But Ed was no expert at this sort of psychic stuff, so all she mostly saw were the curves and the hues of the clouds and skies.

Then something overtook her. It was as though the runes inscribed in her skin were aflame -- her arms, her abdomen, her legs erupted with pain, and something tore at her spirit. Her alchemical composure was reacting to something. But Ed didn't know that, she just knew she was hurting a lot. Her naval was probably hurting the worst, and that was a very uncomfortable place to be aching in.

"Aw man," Ed groaned, hugging around her stomach and collapsing. "No...no, it...it ain't a good omen. Aw man...aw man..."

She sank to her knees, head bowed, humbled by this phenomenon.

Durbans looked around again. There was too much happening at once. it was like war, but it was not. He turned to leave once again. Stepping a bit of a distance away to watch the others and look for possible fighters when he saw the Arena. A place where battle is welcome... He began giant strides towards it, hefting his Axe on his shoulder. This was the place hy sought. It was a place where warriors always came to fight. He entered the Arena and toook a look around the colloseum-like structure. Entering his fee.

Amelia relaxed a little more when she saw Sue approach, relieved to see the familiar nomad arrive. There was a little less intimidation this way, she didn't feel so much like she was being surrounded by these warriors. She waved energetically to Sue, smiling wide. "Hi, Sue!" she said cheerfully. She approached the nomad, reaching out her free hand to stroke the long face of her horse. She rather liked Sue's horse... Andre, wasn't it? He was a nice horse, calm and quiet. Amelia looked to Oujay, who had seemed skittish before, but was calming now that Sue had arrived. Of course, she knew him from their group before arriving here... right.

Amelia looked back to Jyoti, offering a warm smile. The little blonde girl was still perched up on Kyros' shoulder, in the gap between his neck and his spiked shoulderpad, and it didn't really seem that he was going to be letting her down anytime soon. "Jyoti, then. It's nice to meet you, too." Amelia nodded just slightly, her hand still resting against Sue's horse's muzzle. With her gaze away from the arena at the moment, she hadn't noticed Rhys yet; with the noise of the festival added in, there was no way she would've heard his speech, either.

Ganon opened his mouth to reply to Izzy, then sharply turned his head at the horrible noise Ed was making. His eye widened, and he moved much faster than anything as large as he was should, lifting her with both arms and his tail for support, holding her up near his shoulders so he could lean his head down to whisper. "Shhh, Ed... relax... Calm down," the hgi-val murmured, already walking briskly to get her out of the street. Anyone around him would likely need to run or jog to keep up with his long legs as he rounded a corner, ducking into a side street.

He found a sturdy-looking discarded crate and carefully laid his friend out on it, kneeling beside her and dragging her shirt up under her breasts to expose her stomach, to see if he could find anything visibly wrong.

His eye widened further as he stared into the intricate magic circle inked around her navel. His eye seemed stuck in a loop, forced to trace along the lines over and over, until he finally wrenched himself away and reached up to feel her forehead and cheek. "Ed... what the hell is going on...?"

Ed forced herself into a dull panting as the hgi-val carried her off. She clung to Ganon, knowing how much she could trust him and keeping her composure tethered by his presence, but it was as though fire itself was channeling through the inscriptions. She twitched and hugged herself, clamping on the skin as though trying to interrupt the flow of pain, as though she could pinch it shut and make herself okay again. But the pain continued and her bones trembled.

She felt herself lowered against a crate. Breathing heavily, her mind swinging left and right, she hung back as Ganon inspected what was on her belly.

Ach, what ill, she thought miserably amid the inner turmoil. None weren't to know of tha'... 'E'll be kickin' me when 'e finds out, if I ain't kicking 'im firs'...

Ed released her hold on her arms for a moment. Her fingers trembled as she put her hands on her belly, weakly scratching at the rune. She could hardly think straight. Why, she could barely register what he was saying, for every pulse in her body throbbed, and the throbbing in her head made it difficult to tolerate any communication.

"Nn...ah dunno, m'friend... Could be aught, aye," she mumbled in slight slurs, her native accent relapsing. The pain had begun to dull down, but her head still throbbed. "Thought not tha'...the month o' Litha...were...."

She lost her breath around there and merely stilled herself, eyes closed, panting.

Before she could hear Ganon's reply, a terrible scream pierced her ears. Looking around to see who was in danger, she noticed that it was Ed kneeling down.

"Ed!!!" Isadora cried as she went to Ed. What had happened? She didn't know. What matter was Ed's condition. Seeing Ganon lifted the girl up and carried her to a different location, Isadora followed him. She somehow wished that she had brought her horse with her as she tried to catch up to the entertainer.

Once Ganon secured Ed at the discarded crate, the paladin went to take a closer look to see if there were any physical injuries. So far, there were no weapon wounds nor blood. But what made Ed scream so painfully?

When the bard pulled the girl's shirt to expose her stomack, a gasp came out of her. There laying on Ed's stomack was a symbolic circle. She wasn't sure what it was nor how did Ed have it. But whatever causing the pain was not a good sign.

Can it be?....Isadora thought of the red shooting star. Can it be that the bad omen from Elibe is the same in Learania? As much as she wished that it couldn't be true, she knew that in the pit of her stomach that it was about to happen.

Wondering whether Ed was okay or not, Isadora questioned softly. "Is she going to be okay?"

Jyoti blinked slightly. Why I’m... here? Well, it was quite obvious that she couldn’t tell the truth, for that wouldn’t go over too well. Who would actually believe that she was warped here by some mysterious man with a monocle and up until that point she was a statue for who-knows-how-long?

So, she shrugged her shoulders slightly. It was time to speak and craft a teeny bit of a tale. Remaining quiet for any longer would have seemed odd, so...
"Well... I heard that there was a festival going on, so I decided to come check it out! I'm glad I did, too!" She grinned, pushing back some strands of blonde hair that threatened to block her face with a simple flick of her wrist. "And to my complete surprise and joy, I ran into some old friends!" She nodded slightly, gesturing to Kyros and Teifi. "It's such a beautiful day..." She murmured, her grin softening into a small, content smile. It wasn’t a complete lie, really... more like a rather vague response, enough to satisfy curiosity without having to go into the minor details.

The valkyrie turned to Sue. "I assume that your reason for being here is similar, Miss Sue?"

Rhys slipped out of the crowd at last, Jin close behind. While the newcomers certainly didn't look like your average travelers, Rhys paid it no mind--he'd travelled plenty of times with unusual people himself, so who was he to judge?

Jin, however...

A gorgeous dancer, a gigantic warrior, and a woman sitting on his shoulder? How strange. They can't be from around here, can they? I'd think somebody would've mentioned someone THAT big, or that beautiful...

But he decided these thoughts were best brought up another time.

"Hello there," Rhys said, giving a vague wave to the group at large as the Bishop and Priest approached. He said nothing more, since the blonde woman (who wasn't Amelia) had just addressed Sue, and he'd rather not interrupt a conversation.

I've never known...

Thankfully, as she watched Amelia turn around, Teifi could see nothing in the way of injuries- no discoloration, nothing even remotely suggesting bruises or broken bones. Not that she'd be standing properly if anything was broken, mind, but it never hurt to be too cautious when dealing with potential injuries. Smiling approvingly at the young girl's willingness to twirl on a whim, Teifi looked over again at the blue-haired mercenary and weighed the options quickly in her mind. He looked like a strong young man, and a nice but shy one, at that.

"Oujay, is it? A pleasure to meet you." He didn't seem at all like a threat, so she didn't treat him like one. Smiling at him and giving a shallow dip of her head to signify that she acknowledged him, she watched the shy boy continue to fidget as if he was trying to find an excuse to be somewhere else. Not that Teifi particularly minded- if he was nervous because of her or her entourage, he had every right to walk away to calm down.

Turning her head, she noted that another young woman had approached them- a lovely lass with hair as dark green as the most expensive emeralds, and eyes that were proud, like any Sacaean's. Teifi, struck by how nicely this girl carried herself among the ragamuffins that surrounded them. Impressed, she bowed deeper towards Sue, looking up from her bowing position before allowing herself to stand upright again.

"Ah, the pleasure is mine, Lady Sue." Tuning out whatever Jyoti might be saying (in such a crowded place, it was probably nothing of consequence, anyway), she kept her eye on the growing crowd around them with a brief sense of anxiety. Yes, it was great to meet new people. But there were just times when she wanted to meet maybe one person at a time, become friends, and then move on to open her social circle to more people. It was so much more fulfilling than trying to make a whole bunch of friends shallowly at once! Things couldn't be disclosed nearly as easily through a group- one on one interactions were so much more fulfilling!

Looking back to Amelia, she looked back out to the festival for a moment before asking her question.

"I'm afraid I don't know my way around here, very well. Could you help us find a place to spend the night, perhaps? ...And some food, perhaps, too." Motioning over to Kyros with a movement of her head, she shrugged nonchalantly with a little sigh. "He's famished. Perhaps you'd like to have lunch with us, too? Our treat."

Her voice was loud enough for Amelia to hear her clearly, and yet quiet enough so that it wouldn't carry much farther than her ears. It'd be a miracle of anyone else heard it, with all the noise around them.

((Eats a large ice cream cone fast for a little girl XD!!! ))

The three of them slowly strolled down the streets, observing the games they missed, the restaurants and a bunch more other stuff that he didn't know. Ephraim looked down at Amara and noticed that the ice cream was down to the tip of the cone and by then, her face and mouth were sticky from the ice cream. He cracked up and walked over to a well, reaching into his pocket as he pulled out a small hanker chief and dipped it in the water before turning to return to the sugar coated girl.

"Hands" he demanded and Amara held them out. Ephraim knelt down in front of her and took the wet piece of cloth, wiping down both hands till the grime of the sugar was wiped off. After that was done, he flipped the folded cloth over and used the otherside to wipe down her face. "almost...doooonee....there" he finished wiping up the last grime that stuck to Amara's face and stood up, tucking the hanky in the back of his pouch.

Amelia tried to decide whether or not Jyoti and Sue could get along well (Jyoti seemed so bubbly, at least by first impressions, and while Sue wasn't stoic, she was rather quiet and the match-up seemed odd), but her concentration shattered a little when she spotted an orange-haired man wearing white robes approaching them. Rhys!

So Sue's message, got through, huh? Well, that was a relief. He was a hard worker, but he couldn't spend all of his time working! She started to approach him, only pausing when she heard Teifi's voice somewhere behind her left shoulder. The General turned, holding her spear in both hands again, leaning the shaft against her left shoulder, spearhead out of the way of possibly injuring anyone.

"I'm afraid I don't know my way around here, very well. Could you help us find a place to spend the night, perhaps? ...And some food, perhaps, too. He's famished. Perhaps you'd like to have lunch with us, too? Our treat."

Amelia considered this, her expression thoughtful, a little curious. They had just met, after all, but then again, how were you supposed to make friendships if you were paranoid? Amelia nodded once, immediately trying to think of a decent inn; staying at Fefga's manor made her a little dim to the quality of inns around Eyris, but she knew enough from making her rounds. "Ah, I'm sure I could find a decent inn to fit your group." Amelia hesitated for a moment, glancing to the others (Were they included in the invitation to eat?) before looking back at Teifi. "I'm sure I could eat lunch, too. All I've had is a kebab earlier, so I'm still hungry, actually." Amelia giggled sheepishly and looked back over to Rhys, then finally back to Teifi to finish, smile warming a little, "That's very kind of you. Thank you."

Nino came out of her thoughts to Ed making terrible noises. She hurried around a corner and watched as Ganon carried her off. She wondered what was going on, but trusted that Ganon could take care of her. It was at this point that she saw the newcomers. She began to walk closer.
Who are they? She thought to herself. Did they just come through the door?

Nino walked up next to Amelia and gave the dancer a smile. "Hi! I'm kind of.... kind of in charge. A bit. My name is Nino. Is there anything I can help you with?"

(( True, true... She's either hungry, energized, amazing... or some sort of combination of the three. xD ))

Amara pouted but held out her hands, stained and sticky from the delicious, pink, strawberry ice cream. "But Ephie... I was saving it for later..." The small girl whined, crossing her arms.

Alihi cracked a smile. "Ephraim... forgive me for saying this, but you're almost acting as motherly as I do towards Amara. And that's really saying something, coming from her mother." The tactician patted Ephraim's shoulder and then knelt down to Amara's level. "What do you want to do now, sweetie?"

"Uhm..." The little girl blinked. As exciting as all the games were, she was starting to get tired of running from booth to booth. Her little feet couldn't run forever! She looked from Ephraim to Alihi back to Ephraim and back to Alihi once more before waddling over to Ephraim and holding her arms up. "Carry me?"
