Nathan gave a small jump, scowling instinctively as he faced whoever touched his shoulder. Then he saw it was his colleague and forced a smile, his shoulders relaxing through sheer willpower.
"It went alright - though they didn't want me to leave. I almost thought I'd have to bring them here, they were clinging so hard!"
The Angel finally gave a genuine smile, though the joke was a little off.
((N'Night, Mao-chaaann~! *kisses his cheek*))

Nathan nodded without enthusiasm. "Sure, that'd be great - they might welcome a new face..." he murmured, not willing to commit himself yet unsure what else he could say.

Nathan gave an innocent blink. "R-really? Well I suppose it was just that the kids were a little too loud today - they have quite shrill voices when they want to, and my head's pounding a bit..."

Nathan frowned. "No, that was just today - usually they aren't a bother as far as my head or ears go. I didn't get a great amount of sleep last night..."
He couldn't help it: he began to blush.

"Why not? Did something happen?" Davyn began to get closer to Nathan. "Perhaps you should go somewhere else tonight. My place is pretty quiet if that's what you need."

Nathan felt his eyes narrow. Davyn was being far too pushy, and if he thought that would work...
He leant close, pressing his lips to Davyn's ear. "I much prefer my own company when I want quiet, and do not think me so green that I don't understand what you could do to me if I accepted such an invitation..." he whispered, pulling back to glare.
"Drugging me won't get you what you want, Davyn..." he added, moving behind the bar with the glasses in his hands.

Davyn stared at him in utter shock. "Wh... What are you talking about? You couldn't be more wrong! I was only offering because I thought it would be helpful to you. I never meant to insult you."

 Nathan raised an eyebrow, but other than that gave no indication of hearing his colleague as he walked to a table to collect an order. Davyn would have to try a lot harder if he wanted the Angel to believe him.
After a half hour, however, Nathan came back to himself a little. I shouldn't have been so horrid... guess I have to apologise, even if he was being too slimy!
Nathan approached Davyn with a genuine apology on his lips, in his expression. "I'm sorry, Davyn, you caught me at a bad moment, and I shouldn't have accused you of such things..." he murmured, watching his colleague's face.

Though Davyn was pissed at the way Nathan had reacted earlier, he managed to turn and smile. "Hey, I'm the one who should be sorry about what happened. I should have known you weren't in the mood to talk and should have just left you alone for a while. If you're feeling better, maybe we can go get something to eat after work. Nothing like a date of course. I just think we need to become better friends is all. I want you to be able to trust me."

Nathan swallowed his instant denial - wasn't as though the one guy he was interested in wanted him, and besides he owed Davyn for being so mean.
So he smiled. "Only on one condition..." he murmured.
