I think that it's a great idea, I just, again think that we need to wait on setting everything else up first. We can always add the streets when ever we choose, it's up to us.

The subforum is now open for you guys: bring your subforum to life.
Please note, any member that I see posting in that subforum during the (U/C) phase that has not been actively involved in this discussion up to this point will receive a guild warning.
The Welcome is now posted, ready for you all to post the rules. PLEASE MAKE ALL DECISIONS (about who will post what) IN THIS THREAD! Any additional planning should be made in this thread. As always if you need a mod, let us know in the SFQ or here (most mods look in this thread all the time anyway).
Also once the rules are established, someone will STICKY the RAs for you, before the subforum opens

Alright, I'm pretty much finished making the Slytherin RA. I made the 4 main posts we discussed earlier, as well as one extra post for the future possible town cup. Can everyone go have a look and tell me what you think?

I was thinking the main rules thread could be called "Town Hall". And then if we do a post by Adonis followed by each of the 4 grads who made the RAs, then we could have all the rules listed there as well as convert it later to include information on if we have a mayor or whatnot. (Though isn't the mayor now sort of Lyra?)
Also, I'm confused on what we decided for shops, can anyone open them? Or are we doing applications, we're starting with main shops and adding our own? If so what are the main shops and who should make them? People just take them over? or are we going to make npcs for the main 4 shops?

I believe there was some sort of application and no NPCs for the shops. The shops are the grad's responsibility. But I suppose that depends on whether the shop is an rp shop (ex. pets or sweets) or a shop-shop, like the id or wand shops. :/ Anyone else remember?

Just one very important note: Let's discuss and finalize things here before we go posting in the main thread or something. Setting up RAs is fine, but lets make sure we've got the other stuff sorted before running off to post. That ok with everyone?
About the main thread, with all of the rules, etc. I like the idea that we each post one thing. We need aging, housing, shops, and a list of grads. (I think they should go in that order, or at least all the rules stuff first.) I'll have to check I haven't missed anything in that list. Angil: Since Adonis is doing the yearbook thread, would you like to be the one to make a list of grads with their tekteks and the term they graduated?
Council: I agree with Tina, get the subforum running first. Icee: Just a little confused: does that mean that mods can't be on the council? I think it might be useful to have at least one mod, in case someone disappears and we need to edit or delete a thread/post or something.
Tina: I take it the knocking issue is settled, then?
Shops: There used to be an application but that got too complicated, so now there are NO APPLICATIONS. Just a few general guidelines that were already discussed: 1. No doubles - if there's already a shop of that sort don't make another. 2. These are roleplay shops. The ID and wand shops are staying where they are. 3. Try to make a shop that will get some RP activity. If it is too dead, it will be removed. 4. The only other thing we need is a limit on the number of shops (so that RP isn't spread too thin). Other than that, go ahead and make a shop! (Tina is making an Inn, and I think Kitty possibly wanted to make a petshop/vet?)
Streets:I think there's two main options: 1) We wait until the subforum is running and then see if we would like to put streets in all of the RAs. 2) We treat the RAs a bit like the common rooms and let each house design theirs how they want (with the basic rules common to all four). ie Slytherin can have streets if they want, but nobody has to. Thoughts?

Angilwingz Alright, I'm pretty much finished making the Slytherin RA. I made the 4 main posts we discussed earlier, as well as one extra post for the future possible town cup. Can everyone go have a look and tell me what you think? It looks great Angil!!
Guys keep in mind that the Town Cup is an idea right now, not something set in stone.

We're not making a guild inside our guild, we're making a subforum. It's designed to be the grads equivalent to the Around Hogwarts subforum.... or have I had the wrong idea? The Shops thing will be on a first come first served basis, with a limit I believe. I might be wrong but I know there was a consensus on something similar on this plan.

Lyra: I was going to recommend a general rules post as well for that subforum, but then I realized that the grads/honorary members should be well aware of guild rules by the time they're in that subforum...but just to be sure, what do you guys think on that? Council: If they want it they can take it, but being a HoH is a lot of work too, they might not want to keep up with that one subforum so closely when they have to worry about the entire guild, but it's completely their choice, not mine. But even if a mod isn't on the Council you can still PM someone to edit it for you, if you know what you want to edit. Shops/Streets: thanks for answering that. On you being the mayor: technically that's not a term we're (I speak in general) using right now. I just thought that you should be overseer of this whole process since you were here at the beginning and throughout. You're also kind enough to get your point across without ignoring others, so you'll be perfect for that. Here's what I sent to Lyra in response to a PM she gave me: Quote: There's no such thing as a "mayor" right now, but for all intents and purposes you're in charge. When we decide to do the "mayor and city council thing" I think it would be nice if we did an election [instead of appointment].

Great! Thanks!
Icee: I understand that the Town Cup isn't set in stone, but I wanted to have a place for it set up just in case.
Since we have general rules threads in all subforums, I only meant that the thread should be called town hall, in order to go along with the theme. When I said info on who's running what, I meant that if the general rules post made by adonis is called twon hall, then it would be fitting if we decided to do elections later on, otherwise, it would serve fine as a general rules and guidelines thread.
I also definetely think we should set up a common area, I think someone mentioned park. So I'd like for someone to set that up. Maybe Icee or Adonis since they're not house affiliated?
I'm not sure what I said to make it sound like it would be a guild inside a guild, my ideas for council are roleplay based and follow the rest of the guild. each house has prefects and reps that have jobs, why can't the grads have that too.
Sorry if that's confusing.

Icee: -The rules should be obvious. -That's why I put the word mayor in quotes. And thanks for clearing that up for all of us. biggrin -You're right about the shops. We still need a limit on the number though.
Angil: I mentioned a park ages ago, but it was kind of put on hold and then mentioned again recently (by Tina?).
Who should make which post for the welcome thread?

Yes, I was the one who recently brought up the park idea again.
And yes, I still would like to do the Inn.
As for the Welcome thread I think we should do it like this. i.e. Adonis, Myself, Lyra, Angil and whoever is doing the Hufflepuff RA (can't think right now, sorry.)
As for the number of shops, why don't we start out with 5-8 shops and we can always add more.
(More to come but, I'm going away for the weekend and I need to pack. I'll have my laptop though so I'll still be around.)

Who should make which post? And in which order? Adonis has already made the first couple. Now we need posts about the aging, housing, shops, and a list of grads.
I was wondering if Angil wanted to make the list of grads, since she was originally planning on making a yearbook?
Is Juni making the Hufflepuff RA?

I would love to do the list of grads. Might be hard to find out what everyone looked like when they graduated but I know exactly what a few of us looked liked and I can always go hunting for the rest of the information.

I noticed Avatar's comment in Godric's Hollow about needing a quote. The quote I used in Salazar's Cove is a quote about Graduation, and while I was looking for a slytherin appropriate one, I noticed a few that seemed good for the other houses. You guys dont have to use them of course, but I thought I'd share them with you because they're kind of inspiring..
“The future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams.”
“You have brains in your head. You have feet in your shoes. You can steer yourself in any direction you choose. You're on your own. And you know what you know. You are the one who'll decide where to go.”
“Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world.”
“What lies behind us and what lies before us are tiny matters compared to what lies within us.”
“School's out, Memories past, Don't ever doubt, Our friendship will last.”
“Your schooling may be over, but remember that your education still continues”
"There is greatness waiting for those that have the courage to find it."
