Timothy had never in his life felt so helpless. All he could do was watch, mouth agape as Joli slowly became more and more reptilian. Since she'd not responded to his previous offers to help he stayed silently and tried to offer... moral support for her.
If he could offer nothing else...

Her curly hair obscures her face for a time though she never grew quiet, rather she grew louder for several more minutes. She didn't quiet, not until her tail had stopped at it's new length, and when she grew quiet her breathing sounded a LOT more shallow, though little air was being drawn in like a normal human.
After a few moments and clearing the blood from her mouth, though little bits still remained, her flickering tongue registered someone... or something near and she lifted her head turning it to look towards Tomothy, her face different now then it had been as her eyes looked up at the male and she slightly sat up, but not by much

"You... you okay Joli?" Timothy stepped a bit closer. ateast it appeared to be ending for her. That was... comforting atleast.
"Atleast you didn't do what I did when I changed eh?" he tried to grin and lighten the mood. His voice made it obvous, he was nervous and scared. Very much so in fact.

Oh god she was hungry... the taste of blood in her mouth made for no help in this matter. The Komodo at this point still had control, the change had made her HUNGRY... The blood in her mouth made hte Komodo crave meat... preferably fresh.. and stepping close was meat. Much like the previous two times that the Komodo took control she was quiet though she stared at him her now more clawed fingers flexing in the sand under them. There was just something in the look in her eyes that was unlike anything Tomothy would have ever seen in her before as her tongue flickered

Timothy looked at those changed eyes. After only a momen though he knew this wasn't a good time to be where he was as he started running back towards his duplex.
Joli hadn't wanted his help right. Besides, she was really freaking him ot right now.

Oh no.. food running... The Komodo hurried though very sorely to it's feet and ran after him leaving her towel behind on the beach. She stumbled slightly a few times, but overal her speed wasn't all that bad.

Timothy looked back and noticed Joli comming up behind him. He attempted to run faster but she appeared to be gaining on him. This is what he got for skipping Gym.
Backside facing to her he barely knew what he was doing a he wriggled out of his pants. Some part of him knew what he was thinking about doing, the other part was ridig purely on instinct.

Did she sound winded? It might have been hard to tell but she wasn't really feeling it. The Komodo saw it's prey's actions and began to reconsider it's chase of the meal, surely it couldn't be the ONLY meal available. She slowed slightly, her mind, the komodo's mind weighing the options of her situation

Timothy, reacting more out of instinct than anything else. In a way, just as guilty of loosing control as Joli let loose his skunk musk on her. As you can imagine from a human sized skunk, it was quite a bit.
Leaving his would be predator (and his pants) behind he dashed off in fear. Heading for Avery's duplex, the only place he knew he'd be safe.

The Komodo stopped dead in it's tracks closing it's eyes and turning it's face away nearly choking on the horrid scent that assaulted it's sense of smell. By the time it was breathable again she was alone, a 1/2 Komodo woman n musk-soaked shorts and tshirt. With a growl she retreated and waded into the water in hopes of getting rid of hte scent, her human side not yet in control enough to tell her the remedy for skunk spray

Talking to Em Em came down upon the beach, returning to the scene of the previous night's merriment. She'd brought her basket- filled with fresh fruits she'd collected about the island, to include even the tiniest, sweet berries she'd found on the slope- and headed for the beach bar. The night before had reminded her that there was a fridge therein- which she could likely store the more perishable foods, and not have to worry about having to dry them all. She was slightly oblivious to all else around her- those waves were the same she'd seen every day for the past few months, and the foliage that overhung onto the beach swayed with the ocean breezes... as they always did. Joliette had left her towel where it was on teh beach, and beside it was a pile of clothing, she only now had her bra and panties which stunk too but she had no desire to wear the stinky shorts and tshirt. She was in the water at least waist deep and bent at hte waist trying to wash the musk off of her. Her back was to the beach as she splashed in the waterIt wasn't until after Emelyn had deposited her store, along with a small, handwritten note, in the back of the top shelf of the small refridgerator, which identified the fruit as hers, and not to be used to mix drinks with- that she stood, and saw the figure in the water. At first, with the sun glinting off the waters and accosting the nocturnal girl's eyes- along with the distance, she didn't recognize the form that was splashing out in the tides. It took her a moment of deep squinting to identify the shape, and then she smiled, and called out. "Joli!" She came out from behind the bar and headed for the surf. Joliette paused, she was sure she had heard her name, she herself had barely gained control over the Komodo, it was still hungry, but she hadn't wanted to go to the cafeteria smelling as she was. She lifts her head standing up a it more, everything from her waist down, tail included, was under the water. She turned her head slightly to find out who was there but not enough to show her changed face yet, her yellow tongue flickered giving her that answer before she'd even turned her head all the way "Hi Em" she replies just loud enough to be heard from the beach, she was still facing out from the isle her hair obscuring her face.Em waded into the surf up to about her ankles, letting the frothy water rush up against her fur-covered feet as she stood, arms at her waist and her face edged away from the sun. She noticed that Joliette was still unturned in the water, and she mistook the stance for her being startled. So Emelyn stayed at her distance. "Didn't mean to disturb your swim," she said congenially, "I'm just surprised to see you. It's been such a while!" Joliette sighed what little she could sigh with her changing system, closing her eyes and tipping her head back slightly. She knew there would be no avoiding it in the long run "You weren't disturbing my swim Em..." She opened her eyes again and righted her head and then crossing her arms slightly over her chest she turned around to face one of the closest friends she'd made on the isle. The visage was very nearly one out of a horror film. Joliette's body had been transformed from that of a sweet, confident journalist, to a shell of deformity. Those hands enough- for Emelyn could see the one more clearly where it lay, outstretched slightly as if to protect her chest, were enough to send shudders down the spine. Em didn't know if it was the hedgehog in her... or the human, which reacted so strongly- but those infant, proto-spines which poked out from the skin on her now so muscular back... stood at attention. Luckily, they were beneath that mass which was her malformed hair- and Joliette would be unable to see the reaction. But her eyes- they were so sad, and the face which had held so many smiles and defiant words of escape- were still... so human. And that, more than anything, kept Emelyn from going for the knife she had tucked in the front pocket of her jeans. "Hey, sweetie." She said softly. "How are you?" They both knew what the question meant. "I hurt, I'm hungry... I stink, the Komodo chased another islander, this time I remember it..." she looked down at the water "All in all I've not had a good day" she says her tongue flickering as she took barely noticeable breaths and then slowly trudged towards Em and the shore more of her changes becoming visible as she movedAs the base of her tail became gradually visible, along with those patches of skin which... could no longer be correctly categorized as skin appeared, Emelyn understood why Joli would be so upset. So many things were changing- and not for the better. "I'm so sorry." Emelyn said, slowly following her to the beach. "I don't think there's anything I could do- the only food I have stored up... wouldn't be very appetizing to you. ...And you're hurt? What happened?" Joliette sat on her towel and then pulled the ends around herself "I hurt from the change, not from anyone doing anythign to me.. I was down here relaxing and enjoying the sun, then I remember waking up... Then I changed and the Komodo took over... and I kinda chased Timothy... That is till he musked me" she points a ways down the beach at the pair of pants that the skunk male had abandoned on the sand in his haste with a very clawed finger. Her stomach growled loudly and she she did her very very hardest to keep control, she didn't want to scare away yet another friend.Of all the things Joliette said- it was the unspoken- yet very evident- that she focused on. "You sound starving. Have you been to the cafeteria at all? You sound like you need to eat if you don't want the Komodo taking over." Emelyn knew- from quite different experience than Joli, given... that when she was hungry or hurt, the animal presence became much more solidified, more insistant. Em wondered briefly- as she had before- what it was about humans that had... cancelled out the majority of their survival insticnts. Had humans just become so reliant on the tangible, on the known... that they'd forsaken those anscestral keys that gave them priveledge to the doors of survival, to innate, instinctual knowledge? Were they nature's mistakes? ...Or perhaps miracles, evolved beyond the need to instinctually know, and feel. She supposed she'd never know. Joliette didn't move for a moment and then slowly shook her head "No... I been trying to get rid of the smell" she admitted quietly. Her tongue flickered and if her teeth weren't as they now were she would have bitten her lip "But I am hungry" she says and pulls the towel more around her. "I kinda got musked it's not fun, never even did back at home ever get even near a skunk let alone sprayed...""Well, water won't help you, much. My Grandpa John's dog used to love getting into the skunks in the woods. The best way to get the smell off is to clean yourself with tomato juice- or with a mixture of hydrogen peroxide, dish detergent, and baking soda. ...Maybe you can get them from that woman who works in the community center. ..En route to the cafeteria." Emelyn said. Not quite subtlely. "Going to have to do something... Can't stay smelly" She looeked up at the hedgehog and gave a weak jagged tooth smile "Hopefully noone will be there if I go" The longer she could keep from everyone seeing her the better.. least in her opinion "How has the jungle been treating you?" she tried to change topics.. Something away from food and her hunger, perhaps she could stave it off if she didn't talk about it right then."Pretty good. Can't complain," Emelyn said. "It's easy to live off the land when you're an omnivore. ...Although I do get awfully bored." She steered the topic off food as soon as she'd gotten a handlehold on it. No reason to antagonize Joli's poor stomach even more than it was. "Seems these days, all I do is write, think... wash my clothes... and gather food. Tres boring." "Oui, tres boring, least you can still do it, I feel sorry for anyone who can't do their hobbies anymore, I hope..." she lifts a hand and looks at it "That I don't lose mine" She wasn't holding her breath on that one. She lets her hand drop again and watched Em taking small shallow breaths, the only breaths she technically could"I'm sure you'll be able to still do everything you've done before. Just... differently-abled. If it came down to it, I'm even sure that the jackasses up at Feral would be giddy at the chance to design new, compatible equiptment for you." And it was probably true, too- they'd think of it as a challenge, instead of what it really was: payment due for their atrocities. A very small percentage of that payment... but due, nonetheless. "Somehow that wouldn't shock me too much. I wish they could just stick to that kinda thing... instead of this" She stood up bringing the large towel with her which succeeded in hiding all the changes except her feet and head. "Did you find some place to hall... home?" she asks not remembering just then if Em had or not."Mmn," Em said, murmuring in the affirmative. "There's a cave about halfway up the slope of the mountain- about a six-seven minute climb up the easy side, if you take it at a clip. Just at the point where the trees start to thin out. It's just a little... concave sigh, practically, in the mountain- but it's deep enough that I've got everything set up inside. It's also far enough up that I feel safe. ...That's a big thing out here," Emelyn said, after a noticeable pause. "Trying to feel safe." "Yeah..." Joli looks at the sand "Lots of preditors, natural... and islanders" she closed her eyes knowing she was becoming one of those... She thought about the salads she used to eat, and suddenly found herself having no desire for them... despite how hungry she was, one of the things she had dreaded ever since she figured out what she was to become..."It's not the natural animals that I have cause to worry about," Emelyn said honestly. "Only those islanders... who have given themselves over completely to their animal nature." Her eyes were sympathetic, and her words were honest. "I try not to... but it's a constant battle, theres often times I don't know how I manage to stay myself..." like right now she added in her mind. "I hate whats happening to me... to us... it's cruel... we don't deserve this" her voice was quiet it wasn't that she was chosing her words but trying to keep strong, both against her emotions and the beast within"We really don't," Emelyn agreed- softly... and sadly. "We deserve to be treated with respect, and not violated to the last strand of our DNA. We all deserve... so much more than this." She put her hand out- not to touch Joli, for she didn't know how the komodo-woman would respond to the feeling of touch- but instead, she put it down near her on the sand. "And I've seen those who don't have control over the animal. They have truly given themselves over to it. ...Just the fact that you're keen against it happening- I think that's enough to save you," Emelyn said. Her words were not light- but then, neither was the subject. "How do you stay so strong Em, so resiliant... I don't know how you do it, right now I just feel like crawling into somewhere dark and hiding." her tongue flickered and she closed her eyes. Half of the people she knew seemed so strong minded, hargun was one of them too... but she'd not seen Hargun since Christmas time."Life has dealt me an easier hand, Joli. That's how I can be so resilient. ...And really... I'm no stronger than anyone else. I internalize everything. I let it sink deep down, and then I isolate myself for strong bursts. A part of me thinks that this," she lifted her arms and looked around- at the sky, the jungle, the water... "Is my 'crawling into the dark and hiding'. ...I think you're stronger than you know." "I don't know, I really don't, I've attacked at least 3 people, one I vaguely remember, one I dont, and one I do... Just that thought alone makes me want to cry, thats not who I am, thats not the kind of thing I would do... Use martial arts as defence yes... but be the attacking end... Thats just not me" She felt ashamed of herself, perhaps at some point she'd be like Em... but that day wasn't todayHearing that Joli had attacked three people... made Emelyn's stomach churn. A part of her wanted to cry, and another begged her to crawl to her feet and run for the mountain. But she did neither- instead, focused on the steadiness of her breath, making sure to keep her eyes low and her thoughts aimed at thinking... and not feeling. Joliette was her friend- and, despite what she said- Emelyn wasn't afraid of her. She believed that she would be safe. ...Or perhaps only could be safe. But it was enough to keep her on the sand. "I know it seems awful, now- but maybe if you focus on what you can remember- tie together clues, triggers, that may have caused the komodo to eclipse you. Were you tired, were you hungry? Was it a certain type of day- were your emotions a certain way?" Emelyn rolled the questions off her tongue like liquid. "If you put together all the factors, you may be able to find a way to prevent it- or at least lessen the risk... of losing control." "First time was during lockout, before we ran into each other,... You remember that I'm sure... Second time I got lost in the jungle that was a couple weeks ago, I was hungry, I dont really remember who or what happened exactly, and the last time was right after this change, thats why I stink so badly... Timothy sprayed me as he tried to get away" She paused "I guess the trigger would be hunger if I add those up""Then..." Emelyn said, absorbing the information, "as much as I love to talk to you- and as glad as I am to see you..." she put her hand out again- this time to touch her leg. "I think this is when I tell you goodbye... and you go get some food." Joliette didn't flinch as the hedgehog woman touched her scaly leg she nodded though "All right.. I'll go, I need clothes first so I'm going to go to the darkroom first though" she pushed to her feet once more holding the towel around her as she scooped up the stinky clothing, she knew Em was right"Any time you need to talk... I'll be out here. And Joli?" She paused, looking down at the sand as she exhaled. What she was about to say wasn't easy, but truly... it needed to be said. She looked up into the woman's eyes. "I know they're all bastards over at the labs... but please, if you think you're losing control... go see them. I don't want you getting hurt- and I know you'd hate yourself if you ever truly hurt someone. Just... consider it." Joliette looked at her as she spoke "All right Em... thanks" she conceeded softly and then turned and headed away into the jungle

Tomato Soup Baths Joliette stood at the corner of the building wearing an oversized shirt and the beach towel. She'd gone to #28 and pulled out the ONLY piece of clothing the git had given her that was anywhere near decent or wearable in her mind. She was watching, trying to avoid people, she wasn't sure she was ready to see more people yet, least not till she had food in her stomach.. and tomato juice to get rid of the musk she had on her.
Chubbs was wandering out the door, heading out to get some food and feed his stomach, or stomachs as he thought he had some days. He felt like a nice big chunk of steak or some sausages, the thought almost made him drool. putting his cap on and turning to leave, a smell hit his nose that made his hairs curl up. He'd smelt it once before, and it took him a moment to recognize it. It was the smell that came off of Tim, the skunk guy he met near the river. Sniffing around, he drew closer to it while trying not to cry, to see if Tim was nearby. Joliette saw David, the one person she shouldn't be worried about seeing her changed she suddenly felt a fear that she was ugly, she'd seen her reflection in the water's surface and she hated what she looked like, she retreated around the corner and leaned back against the wall and stared down at the ground by her feet.
Chubbs followed the smell a bit more, until he couldn't bare the stench and started to dry gag a little. He rubbed his eyes and looked around. Maybe he had scared Tim last time or something, but he had recently been nearby, Chubbs decided to call after him. " Hey... ahh.. Tim? .. that you buddy?" There wasn't any response for a time, and then she replied "No" her voice was quiet, but audible. She pulled the towel around herself more hiding as much of her as she could her hair falling into her face as she stared at her clawed toes. She had hoped he wouldn't check, but she wasn't easily hidden smelling as she did
Chubbs blinked hearing the response as he did. If he had of known better, he swore that was Joliette that just said that. Heading towards the voice or at least where he last heard it, Chubbs shuffled quietly. " Hey uh.. Joli...that you? ..What's up hun?" "Oui c'est moi" she replied "It's me" she repeated in English, "n-nothing, just kinda got... sprayed" she admitted that much, she wasn't sure she wanted to admit she'd changed, though if he finally saw her he'd know without saying so she knew she wouldn't have to admit it
Chubbs still wondered what Joliette was saying in French, one day he'd have to start learning it so he could understand her. He was worried why she sounded odd, until she mentioned she got sprayed. Tim can't have done that on purpose he thought, but a bad smell wasn't about to keep him from her. Heading around a corner he spied her in a towel and headed closer to see if she was alright. Then he noticed it, the tail and her feet, they were not the same. Even through the hair the change had been obvious. He had hoped this wouldn't have happened to her, it had been so long with out her changing, he thought she was fine. Chubbs walked right up and wrapped himself around her and hugged her tightly. " Oh .. I'm sorry love.. " That's all it took for her to break down, not in anger or as the Komodo, but to cry, burying her face into his furry chest. Why she'd doubted him she didn't know, but she still had hated her appearance.
Chubbs tried to breathe, he was getting roused up inside. How could this happen to someone he so cared about. He wanted to tear something apart, to blame all the staff for it. He held Joliette tight and ran his fingers through her hair softly, trying to calm her and leaned down to kiss the top of her head. " Shhh... it's okay... you are still Joliette to me" "I'm Joliette..." she pulled a hand from inside the blanket and wiped her eyes and nodded. She looked up at him giving him a full view of her changed face. She looked up at him, at his expression... his eyes... Her stomach growled and she tried to ignore the hunger that was still building inside of her from not having yet eaten since she changed
Chubbs brushed her hair back from her face, the change was definitely dramatic enough to see the difference. He ran his thumb along her cheek and blinked as he heard he stomach and smiled some what. " Ya know my sweet, I was bout to get me some food, care to join me for a date?" "All right, I was going to get some and leave.. that and tomato juice... I don't think anyone would be able to handle being in there if I spent much time in there right now... Least not till I get rid of this smell" She gave him a weak smile
Chubbs was breathing through his mouth at this time. He didn't think it'd do much for Joliette's esteem right now if he threw up right by her. The smell had probably gotten onto him by now, hopefully not as bad. He thought he better ask her how she ended up with the smell in the first place later. " Tell ya what... ah.. why don't ya grab yaself a shower, and I'll go bring us back some stuff... anything ya fancy?" "Can you get tomato juice so I can? I already tried washing off in the ocean and failed..." She asks softly "Then I'll go wash while you get food?" she paused "As for what... It's going to have to be meat to satisfy the beast... I thought about a salad...but I felt no desire for one... despite how hungry I am"
Chubbs nodded and brushed her hair again. Poor girl, changed and sprayed at the same time, not a good day today. He gave her a small hug again and leaned down to kiss her lips. " Okay hun, I'll grab us something.. I'll be back soon" She nods "Thanks David" she says glad to be able to avoid going into the town hall building. She returned the kiss, it felt strange in a way due to the shape of her face "I'll.. I'll head home"
Chubbs nodded and took a step back. He could see her now a bit more openly. It wouldn't till they were home and more open with each other again that he would see how much she had changed all over. He petted her cheek and headed out, making his way towards the cafeteria. " I'll find ya something, see ya soon hun" Joliette nodded "Thanks David" she watched him, he'd changed so much, and then she thought of herself, she'd changed so much. She remembered his angry outburst when he changed, she remembered how she felt during her own change, she had to half wonder if they'd make it through this to the end without killing each other... she hoped so. "I love you David" she replied even if he wasn't there to reply and then headed for their duplex and but she stayed as much as she could out of sight
Chubbs eventually came back to the duplex, it took him a moment to open the door. He carried inside a tray of hot steaming steaks, sausages, roasted meat, bacon and stew. On the side were some bowls of fruit salad and a couple cans of coke. Under his arm though were two great big tin cans and a can opener. These were the tomato juice he had gotten from the lady at the cafeteria. He shut the door behind him and looked for Joliette. Joliette sat on the toilet with the lid closed still wrapped in the towel the window wide open as she waited for him, she didn't hear the door open or close to the duplex as she stared quietly at the tile of the bathroom, she couldn't wait to no longer stink
Chubbs put the tray on the table in their room and started walking around, wondering if Joli was home at all. He peeked in the bathroom and found her sitting there. He smiled and walked over to her and put the tins on the floor and walked over to help her off the toilet seat. " Come on... let's get ya cleaned up and we can enjoy the food" Joliette nods "I blame the Komodo for this, but then the Komodo is me... it just had control" she says and stood up letting the towel slip to the floor and moved to pull the oversized shirt off as well "If it's this hard to control now... I'm scared to think what the future might be like"
Chubbs took off his shirt and motioned for her to hop into the shower and he began to open up one of the tins with a can opener. " Okay, I hope this gets it off for ya" With that he grabbed a cloth and headed to the shower with her, it was noticeable now with out that shirt how much she had changed. " Did ya go after Tim?" "Yeah" she replied quietly after a moment "He was right there when I changed, I lost control when I was changing" she admitted even though she hated to admit it. She climbed into the shower after shedding her undergarments, she was still getting used to the tail behind her being as long as it was.
Chubbs dunked the cloth in the red juice and got it rightly soaked before he started to scrub he down with it. He tried to be firm enough to be useful but not hard enough to hurt. She would be still tender from the change, he didn't want to cause her pain. He knew how she felt, how he had changed and went after her, it must have been hunger for her. For him though it was different. " I'm sure he'll understand hun, it's not always something we can handle" Joliette nods "I hope so, he ran and I chased... least until he sprayed and then I stopped, that's one very powerful defense mechanism" She let him help her wash the smell off "I saw what I look like in the water at the beach... I look awful" she closed her eyes she was in fact sore and definitely tender in any area where she'd scratched
Chubbs pulled the tin up and poured some juice over her and scrubbed at her scaly skin, the smell combination wasn't a pleasant one but it should help in the end. "Ya not awful hun ... I still see you" "Thanks David, I I'm glad someone does... I suppose it'll take a before I can see that inside myself..." she made a face as the liquid poured over her. Her tongue flickered hitting the tomato and she made a face, somehow she seemed to have lost her taste for it... Or perhaps it was just the fact it was mixed with the musk... she didn't know.
Chubbs stepped inside with her and took care to washed her all over, even in her hair, he really hoped this worked. Being stinky was all she needed. " After this we'll wash ya down and just to be sure we'll repeat the process" "Sounds like a plan... have you ever had this happen to you David?" She asked "The musk I mean" she looked at him, her tail swaying slightly behind her as she stood there
Chubbs tried to rub his eyes some, the smell was getting to him a little, even if he wasn't smelling it. The juice was sticking to his fur a bit, it was a rightful mess. " Nah, I ain't had em out in Australia, and never been bush while in America either, first time I smelled one was with Tim" Joliette nodded she tried to keep her tongue in her mouth it seemed more sensitive to the scent then her own nose. "Remind me never to chase him again ok?" she smiled a weak wry smile she did NOT want to go through this again. She hoped David never did either
Chubbs smiled and nodded up at her and got up to pour the rest of the juice in the first tin over her head and rubbed her down some more. He gave a small smile before reaching to turn the taps on to rinse her down. I dunno, I'm kind of enjoying myself" Joliette couldn't help herself that in itself made hr giggle "Noone said you had to wait for a skunk to spray me before helping me" she teases and lifts a hand using the backside of it to wipe the juice from her eyes
Chubbs took the shower head from the cradle and started to wash Joliette down with a smile, trying to jet the juice from her face and her hair. He chuckled as well as she giggled and leaned over and gave her a kiss once more and started soaping her down. " I know I didn't, just better time as any" "So very true... What did you bring to eat?" she asked as her stomach spoke her hunger once more. as she opened her eyes and gave him a soft smile. She was grateful for having him, not just his help, but his acceptance and love as well
Chubbs grabbed some shampoo and started rubbing it into her hair as he hosed her down with water. He had to admit, even with the changes, she started to look kinda hot right now. He sniffed the air for a test smell. " Bit of bacon, roast beef, Irish stew, some sausages.. ya know, my favorites" She nodded the talk of meat made her hungry, the beast craving and calling out for the food it desired. "Something tells me meat in general is going to be quickly becoming a 'favorite' for me too... Just the thought of salad... I had no desire at all for it, and it used to be my favorite" she sighs and waits for the whole process to be over and to be clean again
Chubbs washed her down thoroughly, getting everywhere on her, not to leave a part of her unclean. He then turned the taps off again and opened up the second tin and started washing her down all over again. " I grabbed some fruit salad too, gotten bit a sweet tooth as well" Joliette looked at her hands, she looked at the claws she had managed to now own... "I'll try some, I hope I haven't lost my taste for it, it's bad enough to lose my humanity,... Thank you David... for being supportive" she made loose fists with her hands and then relaxed them and looked up at him
Chubbs smiles and kissed her forehead and got a great be muzzle full of tomato juice. " Anytime love" He smiled and licked the juice off and then grinned. " Ooo hey , little salt and some thyme and I think I'll lick ya clean" He chuckled and then washed her down, making sure he got rid of all the tomato and gave a test sniff. " Ooo hey, that's much better" Joliette giggled scrunching her neck up a little at his proclamation of eating her. "I am not that tasty am I?" she asks as the water runs over her washing all the tomato from her scaly skin and then she sniffs her arm "Much much better, thanks" she reaches up to run the back of her fingers against his fuzzy face
Chubbs makes his odd purr like growl sound as he's pleased with the petting. He finished hosing her down and then hosed himself down a bit and grubbed a towel each for them both. " Ya get yaself dressed up and I'll heat up the food a bit" Wrapping the towel around herself she climbs from the shower nodding "Will do, I kinda tossed the other clothing it was rather stinky" She pauses and looks up at him "now to sort out what I can wear comfortably, thankyou David my love" she wanders from the bathroom in search of clothing doing her best to ignore the strong feeling of soreness and soon was wearing a loose top and a skirt and sitting on the end of the bed trying to get comfortable with the now-longer tail
Chubbs popped the meat out of the microwave, all steamy hot again and brought it all over to the bed on the tray. He smiled and gave Joli a wolf whistle, which didn't quite sound right with his transformed lips and sat down beside her and grabbed up a sausage. " These taste pretty good" Joliette eyed the meat for a moment and then picked one up she looked at it in silence for a moment and then opened her mouth revealing the change in her teeth as she put it in her mouth and bit down, this really helped her discover chewing and simply biting just wasn't plausible anymore and she pulled at the sausage tearing a small chunk off and then swallowing it
Chubbs took a bite of his own blinked, staring at Joliette eat. He cleared his throat and had to joke, smiling a bit. " Okay.. remind me never to ask you to give me a BJ from now on" And he chuckled. Joliette paused mid bite and she felt her skin burn as she blushed brightly at the thought of his request... it was not what she had expected him to say at all.
Chubbs smiled and leaned over, cupping her cheek and kissing her forehead. He leaned his head to hers and smiled at her. " I'm sorry hun, bad joke I know. Just really ripped it up is all" "It's ok David... I just wasn't expecting it that's all. Do we have any pain killers left here?" she asks softly not wanting to move from the closeness he was providing just then
Chubbs smiled and nodded, leaning over to the dresser and searching around in a drawer. A moment later he pulls pulled out a small bottle and sat it in front of her. " There, should be a fair few left, hope they help" He smiles and pulls up some roast with his fingers and begins to chew it She nods and smiles and with some fumbling gets the container open, she takes a couple and then like him continued to eat the meat he'd brought, between bites she pauses "Did you have an ok day?"
Chubbs smiles and nods, taking her hand in his own and brushing his fingers along it. It was still her hands but still so different now. Chubbs popped open his coke and took a sip. " It was fine.. I slept so much though" "You must have been tired to have slept for so long" She mused tearing at the meat after she spoke, "Have you been staying up or something?" she was trying to take the topic away from her change, she was already trying to avoid thinking about it/
Chubbs smiled and leaned over to nibble at her shoulder playfully. It was good to see her smile again, he liked to see that of her. He was glad that she was feeling better and hoped the food would fill her tummy. " Me stayin up? nah.. recon it would be this lovely girl I sleep beside, gets my blood a flowing" "I'm not lovely..." she didn't feel lovely, not right then. "But thankyou... I wish I had been asleep at home when I changed rather then waking up from sunbathing on the beach. But then... I imagine the Komodo would have come after you like it did after Timothy"
Chubbs smiled a bit with a quirk in his lip and patted her hand softly. " Ya are lovely, and ain't gonna change me mind. And I felt that Komodo of yours before... glad this time I had something to give you instead of my arm" He winked and offered her a bit of his roasted beef with his fingers. "Your arm?" she looked at him oddly for a moment and then flicked her tongue once before taking the piece of meat she offered between her teeth. She knew she wouldn't change his mind, that didn't surprise her.
Chubbs fed her and smiled, then motioned to the spot on his arm where she once bit him. " Ya were out of it at the time I guess, but when I found ya out at sea, ya bit me... guess I looked tasty huh?" "Out at sea..." then she remembered "Oh.. heh, I don't exactly remember the entire time I was on that raft, everything after sunset was a blur or I just plain don't remember it. I wish I could say I did... I hope I didn't hurt you, only thing I could think of was perhaps that I was hungry..." she looked a lil sheepish at this admission
Chubbs smiled and woofed down some stew hungrily, he could understand how she felt at times. He leaned over and gave her a light kiss again and licked his maw. " Yeah, ya were pretty hungry, but was understandable hun, was a bad time" Joliette nodded and ate, she tried a couple bites of stew and then just stared into the bowl... The veggies in the stew bothered her... "I can't eat this" she said quietly and then put the spoon in the bowl and set it down pausing before picking up another sausage
Chubbs nodded and looked at the vegetables, decided to eat that instead so she could enjoy the other meat. He took another sip of coke and covered a burp. " I'll remember that for next time" "I wish I could, honest I wish I could... I just have no taste for the veggies" she looked at the meat in her hand and growled her hated for Sabin growing, the doctor Moreau might have been responsible for the serums themselves but she blames Sabin for what was happening to her.
Chubbs shifted himself along the bed, trying to be careful not to spill anything until he sat himself beside her. He wrapped his arm around her and alternated from feeding himself and herself with bits of meat with a smile He did manage to keep her distracted, but her anger didn't subside for the doctor and she had to yet learn to control the Komodo better then she did at that time, it had only gotten stronger since she'd changed

Morning Meals Early in the mornin Joliette walked quietly through the village and then peered intot he cafeteria, she was hoping to find it empty. She almost would heave opted to stay home, she was still sore, and hated how she looked, but she was hungry and didn't want to lose control of the Komodo so knew she had to go to the cafeteria to find some food, the beast wanted meat, steak, and she was feeling inclined to give in to it. Seeing noone the short auburn haired Komodo-woman walked across the floor her claws clicking on the tile even moreso then they used to. She was wearing a skirt and a loose top, clothing she'd gotten from Hargun long before, but most comfortable with a sore body. She stood at the counter deciding on food, her back to the door.Awen had gotten up a little earlier that morning. She couldn't sleep once she woke up and decided to make a custom breakfast. She was getting a little sick of the normal food from the cafeteria and hopped back into the kitchen to make herself a custom breakfast. She turned out of the kitchen and blinked seeing the green scaled and brown haired creature standing on the opposite side of the counter.
Awen's plate was piled with waffles, salmon, and bacon. It took her a few minutes to figure out. "Joliette? Hey there." She smiled a little bit.Joliette lifted her eyes and looked at the person speaking "Hi Awen" she says quietly as she pulled a rare steak onto her plate, she didn't quite get why the girl was on teh other side but such was lifeShe rounded the corner of the lunch line and nodded to the cafeteria lady as she moved towards Joli again. She wouldn't try to talk about the change unless Joli wanted to. She didn't seem to be in that great of a mood. "Mind if I sit with ya?""I dont mind, I just need food, I dont mind the company at all" she nodded her head tot he lady who worked there and then turned walking over to a table nearby and sat down it took a few mins to get comfortable with her tail, she didn't know how Amaya did it, she just didn't know. You doing ok?" she asks her friendSitting across from Joli, Awen smiled softly. "Yeah I'm doing fine. Been kind of solitary lately but still I'm doing fine. Started in on a new book the other day...nothing too special really... What about you? How are you and ol' Chubbsie doing?""David and I are doing all right, he helped me de-stink yesterday, I kinda got sprayed by Timothy, it was a bad day for me yesterday, I'm just grateful for friends and a boyfriend who know what each other are going through and are understanding" Shepicked up the steak with her claws and stared at it for a moment and then bit into it with her pointed serated teeth and tore a small piece offShe nodded slowly. "Ouch that would...er..well..stink." She smile and chuckled a little bit.
Yeah it would be nice to have friends and a boyfriend who knew what you were going through, wouldn't it? She thought to herself. The only one Awen truly had to understand her was Billy. After all, yes, everyone was changing, but no one else but the skeaze were changing into something that might not be able to breathe air after awhile more.
She bit into her salmon and chewed slowly. "But you're right, you have friends by your side Joli.""I know all of us would rather not go through this at all... but what can we do, nothing it seems. Awen what do you think is in our future?" Joliette used to think she knew about her future... but now she wasn't so sure, she wondered if Awen had any better ideas about the future"Future?" Awen blinked slowly. She had always thought more short term once she got to the island. She sighed a little bit and shrugged. "I wish I could tell you Joli. We might live out our lives on this island, there might be a rescue one day, any number of things can happen here." She shrugged. "I can't work ou the variables because I don't know any of them..""You know the people I feel worst for is our families, the ones who have no idea what has happened to us and what is being done to us. They have to worry for the rest of their lives if we got killed or abducted among other possiblities... We know what happened to us, and I'm sure if we asked we could find out what happened to them" She stares at her steak thinking about the articles that she had been given a t christmas time"I'm sure the doctors take care of it. I know a few people on the island are pronounced dead. I'm still...just in therapy. They might forge a letter to people I was supposed to keep in contact with saying I decided to not return to where ever, or could not return for awhile yet, or will just stay in other countries, explore the world. I mean people loose touch easily. Otherwise some people don't have families to keep in touch with. But I don't think the doctors would just let families worry the rest of their lives. After all, that kind of thing causes suspicions. It makes people want to keep searching for the family or friend they lost...and eventually the breadcrums might reveal Moreau's secret. No... they would have planned for this kind of thing. Eventually at least..."
She shrugged a little bit. "Not many people are very good enough with the staff for the staff to comply with the request though. Maybe we could find out about families and friends... but it would take a bit more to convince the staff to keep that kind of survallence on them. Besides... it's probably better we don't know. It keeps us from brooding on it. Helps us just ...get over it, which everyone will eventually. After all you have to move on at every stage in your life, right?""Yeah, though this is't the moving on I wanted or ever had anticipated" she said motioning at her face with a clawed hand "To be forced to do things I dont want, to be changed... I would rather be digging out scoops and taking photos for papers... But I guess I only have myself to blame for coming here since I was hunting out a scoop" She eats more of her meal her mind idling on her parents for a few minutes as she didAwen shrugged a little bit. "I suppose...to be honest I don't know what else I'd rather be doing. I guess... even the changes aren't that bad. I came here for what I wanted and got it, I'm not afraid of the water anymore, right?"
She sighed a little bit. "Maybe it's just because, despite the not knowing about transforming thing, I came to this island willingly for treatment and got it through the experimental proceedure Moreau had explained. There was only a few friends back on mainland and I had no idea what I was going to do after highschool. So.. there wasn't much I can regret except for the life I had. Which is pretty much the life I have here, ecept here I have a tropical island to lounge around in instead of cabins and cottages in the wood. I don't....really find it that horrible here. But..then... I have almost died during an escape, I might not be so fine with if there weren't so many factors working in the favour of the island." She shrugged again.Joliette nodded but didn't reply on it right away, she ate several bites of torn off steak before speaking again "I suppose, I just suppose in my case I haven't yet come to accept whats happening to me, perhaps having changed yesterday might have a contributing factor to that..." She noded, maybe one day she could accept it, but right then she didn't want toAwen nodded slowly. "I know Joli. I can understand. I don't know...most of my changes...haven't been as bad as a lot of other people's so far. The pain...especially in the last one... seemed almost distant. I blame the water for the last one, had a soothing effect... I know now that I've said that thought the next change will probably be worse than anyone's." She laughed a bit. "It would just be my luck."
She reached over and patted her hand softly. "But hey, bright side. You found David, he's always gonna be there for you. He really cares about you you know hun...""Yes I will admit that every dark cloud has a silver lining... And that would be mine" she shivered slightly "Ok I need to get out of this cold room..." she sighed and rubbed a scaly arm with her free hand "I have a want to feel the sun on my ... skin... " she didn't want to say 'scales'Awen nodded and stood up politely. Then looked down and realised she must have finished without realising the food was gone. She was always sort of sad when this happens.... she liked enjoying her food not just..consuming it for the sake of consuming it.
"Well that sounds like a plan. I might go for a swim, my skin it starting to get itchy again..." She grabbed her tray and Joli's plate. "I'll get this for ya no problem, k?""Yes, thankyou Awen, I'll run into you again ok?" She says standing up and giving her friend a slight smile. After a moment she headed for the door wanting to get nice and warm.Awen nodded and smiled. "Always seem to Joli. See you later." She moved to put the trays and dishes away before sighing softly. She definately was used to the island...
Shaking her head she went away to go for a nice relaxing swim.

Calmer Meetings Zach had, admittedly, taken a wrong turn somewhere in the jungle. This beach was unfamiliar, smaller, and felt almost desolate. He had tended to keep to the western side of the island, the eastern half he'd explored very little of. He glanced idly at the ocean waves, holding Kaveri's painted letter in his hand, then purposefully read the letter over again. Complete, utter nonsense. He'd just have to outdo her. He forced himself to smile knowingly as he read it, then peered out over the water as though watching and waiting. It was a tedious little game, but he supposed that as long as he and Kaveri felt they were giving the doctors hell, it was worth it. She was worth it, anyhow. The events of the wild party the other night seemed far too fast for him, and it felt nice to finally stop and think about it all. Joliette sat in the sunniest part of the smaller beach staring out over the water, her conversation the night before with David made her want to come here and just stare, not to mention the hot sun beating down on her felt rather nice. She didn't notice the male come onto the the beach, she was wearing a loose top and a skirt and had her legs bent and her arms crossed leaning ontop of her knees her chin on her arms Zach had almost failed to spot Joliette's tiny figure on the beach as he'd turned to leave. She wasn't immediately recognizable either, but from the scaly, snoutlike appearance of her face he realized that she'd changed. Immediately, he held his hand over his chest protectively, accidentally crumpling the letter a little. He hadn't forgotten his panic and injury the last time they'd met, and how violent she'd become at the whim of her instincts. Would it happen again? He approached her quietly, his tail curling fearfully while he skirted the rockier dunes. Such drastic changes? she looked like she was going down the path of the other green lizard, Amaya. He let his hand fall to his side, realizing he'd held it protectively the entire time. The crinkle of the letter as it moved between his clenched fingers likely gave him away before his voice. ?Joliette??? Joliette lifted her head from her arms and turned her head looking at the voice of the person who had spoken, her eyes did not hold the same quality as the last time they'd run into each other "Hi Zachary" she says quietly with a nod to him. He was obvious who he was by the fact he was missing an arm, she took in his changes, she'd not really paid attention to them the first time Zach, for once, was mutually absorbed in looking over her changes. The sparkle of thought in her eyes gave him the temporary assurance that she was herself. He knelt down near her, though he was not that much taller than she was, and looked concerned. It was still difficult to look at some islanders knowing that they looked drastically different from what they used to. He got straight to the point with his question. 'When' did it happen?? "Happen? Oh.. Yesterday" she says realizing what exactly it was he meant. It wasn't something she liked to admit but it was the truth. "Was on the beach... Timothy saw it happen, I kinda chased him... but I'm not hungry now... so I'm more in control"
