Vermillion had to chuckle a bit; "If you'd feel better if I made one, i can, but actually I made something that is rather fun. A rope swing that you swing out on and let go to fall in the water. I have observed it to be rather fun with children in other villages that were near streams or lakes. Never tried it though, so I'm rather curious to see if it can bring the same level of joy to us as it does them."

She shivered in anticipation, but feared it a little too, "Will you teach me the basics of swimming before we go on this swing?"

"Of course, the basics of swimming were going to be first, but the swing is only for fun. We don't have to use it at all." Vermillion slid his plate forward leaning back in his chair.

She finished her eggs and spread some home made jam on her fresh bread, "I will use the swing... You went through all the effort to put it up, so no matter how scared I am I won't let your efforts go in vain."

"I'd be right there in the water ready to scoop you up if something happened, so there is nothing to worry about, but once i finish the dishes we can start out on whatever you want to do first." Vermillion stood up taking everything he used that was dirty over to the sink, and looked at the bucket on the stove. He tested it and it wasn't ready yet.

"I-I have to choose what to do first?" she stuttered nervously, "But... I never get out... I don't know what to do.... You'd know better than I... You should choose where to go first." she insisted as she brought the dishes over, "And... I can do the dishes..." anabel slid her plate into the sink and grabbed the damp knitted wash cloth and began whipping off the kitchen table.

Vermillion turned leaning against the sink; "You know at some point you're going to need to make a decision that will involve others. Where they go, what they do, how to do it, and you cannot be hesitant. There is nothing you can pick that I will not be disappointed in doing, walking to your favorite spots, walking in the woods in general, swimming...so don't worry about how much you know, and just choose something you'd enjoy doing outside of town. Oh, and I got the dishes for this meal at least. You get to them before I do most of the other times, but if I see the chance to help out in the small ways i'm going to take it."

Anabel thought about what she liked doing and began mumbling, "...going on walks, having picnics, napping on a blanket in the sunlight..." she blushed softly and walked over to the garbage to flick the crumbs from the rag, "I used to like climbing trees... but I can't now." she pointed to her eyes and sighed, "That's why I wanted you to choose, because I don't do things I used to because I can't see."

"That doesn't seem to stop you from taking care of your garden, going around town, maintaining friendships, or bluffing a junior mage. Most of what you said can be done with no trouble, I have the perfect place to do the napping, its upstream from the area I picked out for swimming, we can have Ive make us some sandwiches on our way out, i have the cloth to lay it out on, but you're not alone in the darkness any longer."
Vermillion took her hand; "All you have to do is reach out and take my hand, and I will stop whatever I'm doing since you're more important to me."

Kanah looked through the mirror and watched her husband reading 4 books at once and trying to keep up with notes. She stepped out of the mirror, and although she wasn't sure he could sense her presence she moved over to wrap her arms around him and rest her chin on his shoulder. She noted the drawing of the seal, and wondered what that was about. However, her time was short she turned her head and gave him a kiss on the cheek "My time is short, but I have seen enough to know it was not your fault, and I forgive you. I have to go, and although I don't know if you can hear me or not. I should be able to make more visits the better I get at this." She began to fade as the strength of the spell died down, and then she was gone never knowing if she was even visible or audible.

She squeezed his hand and sighed, "I know I am no longer alone... I have you to prove it... But..." she looked away from him and brushed some soot off her dress, "I should go get cleaned up..."
Anabel released Vermillions hand and dashed upstairs shutting and locking her door.
~~~~~~~~~~~
Kartane sat at his son's desk with his chin in his palm, and his eyes closed, searching his mind and the information floating around him. the second the presence left the mirror the pattern of the books shifted and Kartane stirred slightly, leaning back into his chair, his hands resting on the arms of the chair.
A soft breeze kissed his face, and a whisper raced through his mind, 'It was not your fault... I forgive you.'
The books dropped and kartane's eyes shot open; his body went cold. the voice wisped through his body and healed his soul. a wave of security wrapped around him and he inhaled deeply, ".......you don't know what you do to me...." he whispered as he slowly exhaled and relaxed back into his chair.
Vermillion took a few minutes, but noted the lag in the normal time. He climbed the stairs, he noticed the bathroom door still open, and came to a stop in front of Anabel's door. Taking a deep breath he put his hand on the door and felt the handle wouldn't turn.
"Anabel...I'm sorry...I didn't want to upset you, but I guess I did..."
Vermillion opened the door, and stepping inside he made a quick glance before closing the door to find Anabel. He waved her into the room to get away from the door. He took a knee; "I can tie it two ways, a easy slip knot that you can pull loose later, or a more secure permanent tie that you might need assistance with later getting it loose."
"uhhh..." she paused trying to imagine what he was talking about, "A bow with a double knot?" she asked, questioning if he knew what she was talking about or not.
