With the laugh cut off at his throat, the naga started making a croaking noise. "So- close- aren't you?" He hissed, his hand reaching to grab any part of Alek that he could. Get his magic... Make him weak... He started thrashing, even as a black unconciousness crept around the edges of his vision, blood from the punches flowing into one eye.

Both females gasped when the flame wall went up. "Alek!" Ashierra yelped, rushing forward, except that Tuula tied her back with some plants. The red female fell flat on her face, amber eyes burning back at the stranger, who was shaking her head. Who the heck was this anyway?

"I know what you want." Alek's teeth clenched in fury. Even at this point that naga scum thought he had the ability to drain him as he had others! One hand pulled free of the naga's neck so Alek could grab his hair. Pulling hard the cattaur forced the naga to look at him. "Ya know what? I'll give you a taste of my family's damning hell fire."

His grin was twisted and for a split second it actually looked as if Alek grimaced as the black flames let loose into the naga. Countless taurs had screamed in anguish at the near death experience just from feeling the heat of the cursed magic, but this...this attack went much deeper than a scare would.

But as soon as it came the flow of fire magic stopped. "I hope you enjoyed it." Alek's eyes gleamed dark as the fire itself as he let go of the naga. His own hands were nearly burned black and the cattaur winced before licking the flesh. Ah, it'd been a while since he had burned his own body so badly. Too bad he had pulled back instead of just trying to completely eliminate the naga. He sighed feeling the stiff breeze that had repeatedly smacked at his back until his attack had stopped. 'Figures she'd want mercy...even on a naga.' Alek stared hard before looking back at the fiery wall. He really didn't want to come out into the open looking as he did. Alek's fists painfully clenched, he was on the edge of losing himself again.

What was this pain? No mear words could describe what made the naga's body writhe and squirm. Thoughts of winning or losing no longer mattered. Survival! When the blackness ended, he felt something else as well. His magic. All his hard earned magic... it wasn't there anymore. He hadn't the strength to test his thought but he knew it was true. Whatever that was, it had, one might say, burned off any magic that wasn't originally his own.
He lay weak, gasping on the ground, his entire body weak. His one eye gazed at Alek. Mother had said not to play with fire, before he had killed her, of course.

"Alek!" She couldn't hear anything. It sounded like the fight had stopped, only the crackle of the hot wall burning wickedly in her ears, taunting as it blocked her sight. She looked down at her hand, burned from the last time she had tried to touch the flaming wall in her weakened state of mind. She barely remembered doing that. She looked back at Tuula, then to the wall again. No point trying to walk through it again. "Alek!" How useless could she get?

Alek glared at the naga. An expressionless mask of a killer came over his features as he approached. "I'm letting you by this once. Remember this lesson, naga. Magic is not to be played with." He kicked dirt at the naga, "Really...it should have killed you, but a breeze told me to behave." The whites of his eyes darkened for a split instant before returning to normal.

"Don't ever show your face again." The soft hiss floated behind Alek as he walked through the fading flames. His skin chilled in the normal air as he passed Tuula and Ashierra. "The naga is out. Do what you will with him." Despite everything his voice was oddly emotionless and calm. After saying that, Alek didn't stop walking. He knew that Ashierra had called his name out, but the cattaur felt it was too dangerous. He had unleashed that magic...no telling how much control he had left now.

Walking down the street, Alek mentally reminded himself to thank both of the girls later. Without their idea and attack the naga probably would've gotten the better of them all. His whole body stung and the cattaur felt like he could drop at any moment. But his driving instinct to put some distance between himself and the others kept him on his paws.

Nodding once, Tuula took the naga with vines like a slingshot, watching as he soon flew over the trees, assisted by her wind, his limp body flapping slightly until he fell into a densely wooded area for from the town. She walked over to Ashierra. "He's been humiliated and weakened. He won't be bothering anyone anymore."

Ashierra started to reach out a hand to Alek, but the strange heat radiating off of him made her pull back, hand to her chest. Her body shook as her adrenaline dropped, the exertion of the day taking a tole on her. She looked down at her hands, eyes cool. "I'm going to my room." She muttered, following in Alek's tracks until she reached the building Jade had first ushered them into.
Inside, she collapsed onto the bed, too tired to shower or even feel anything.

Sighing, she followed after to sit in front of the housing Red had gone into to, in a word, keep guard. Also, she could watch Alek as he walked unless he turned somewhere. Where had that other green cattaur gone to when she had vanished anyway?

Alek's eyes closed wearily as he leaned back under the small waterfall that he had discovered. The cold drizzle chilled his body and made his insides lurch, but it was helping. A few quiet moments passed before he opened his eyes to slits, "Jade."

Moving a branch with her glowing hands Jade carefully moved into view, "Knew I was here, huh?" Her voice was soft and he could see the effort that it had taken for the cattaur to keep her body together after using her magic for so long.

Alek didn't move but watched her with his gaze, "I've had to live with you all my life almost. Of course I can recognize when you're near." His tail barely twitched as Jade touched his shoulder.

"Looks rather painful." A few whispery words left her throat casting a shimmering weave over the worst burns. But even that quickly dissolved as the warmth melted her magic. Still, she could tell that it helped him despite the fact that the burn was still a bit raw looking. "Are...are you okay?"

"Yeah." A soft throaty chuckle came out as a cough, "I'm nearly sane again." He knew that she wasn't really worried about his physical state. Closing his eyes, Alek leaned back into the cool wet stone of the mountain side. "I just need some time, Jade."

"Ah, I know." She nearly flinched at the memory of the last time she hadn't waited for him to cool off. "Surprisingly you have a better grip this time." Without waiting for an answer the cattaur gracefully jumped out of the falls. "I'll go check on them, Alek." She understood how helpless she was when it came to the true conflict that raged inside of her friend.

In a second she was gone. Only the grass that swirled in that one spot indicated that something magical had been standing there just a moment ago.
.......................................................

Jade carried two jugs in her hands. Each felt like a ton to her weary arms but she realized how helpful it would be to the other two females. 'They must be exhausted as well.' A sigh escaped before she smiled at the sight of the other green cattaur.

"Hey! I thought you might want a drink." Purring Jade sat next to Tuula and held out a steaming jug. "They really help boost energy." Her eyes looked up at the inn behind them. Ashierra was in there as well. Torn Jade hadn't known whether she should visit the girl yet or not.

But for now she would sit here and learn more about this other that had helped them.

Tuula looked up, ears perked. 'Ask and you shall recieve.' She smiled pleasantly, fluffing her hair. "Why thank ya darling." She heaved up the jug, taking a few swift gulps before drinking slower to savor it, not bothered by the heat. She caught Jade's look at the inn and shook her head. "I took a peek in that there window. She was out before she hit the matress I bet."

Jade just softly giggled before taking a gulp of her drink. Slightly shaking hands sloshed the warm amber liquid around but a small breeze kept the drink from spilling as she lowered it from her lips. "Ah, poor thing." Jade sighed quietly, "I feel guilty for takin' her out to eat now."

"But it's all over and done now." She grinned mischievously, "I've always wondered if nagas could fly after all. " The grin nearly slipped before Jade leaned back against the wall and looked back over at Tuula. "So who are you exactly?"

Jade took another small sip before nodding, "After all I don't think you even know my name. It's Jade."

Tuula cocked her head. "You took her out to eat. That's how they found you." Her eyes went down, feeling a little guilty herself. "I noticed we both have that wind magic going. I fear they may have mistook you for me." She shook her head. "I got a bit o' history with them buggers. I's not your fault for them being such buttheads. If I hadn't taken Orangey boy with me, he coulda been here to help ya sooner."
At the mention of the flying naga, Tuula had to smile. "That felt so good. I don't think he'll be troublin this town anytime soon again."
"Jade." She said, tasting the name with a purr. "Lovely as your face. I am Tuulitaika, but you may call me Tuula. Much easier ta say."

"Ah, that's why they seemed surprised that I wasn't someone else." Purred Jade with a nod, "It's not your fault either about that. Everything worked out fine." She grinned, "Fate took care of us!"

"True that, unless he's just asking for trouble." Jade snickered softly as several scenarios went through her mind. "Never thought Jade was a lovely name myself." Joked the cattaur before smiling, "Tuula it is then! I presume that the orangey you speak of is Alek."

Her tail twitched as she took another gulp of the drink, "I prefer fire-boyo myself for him but that name works fine too, Tuula."

Tuula smiled thankfully around a mouthful of drink. At least Jade didn't seem angry about the mix-up.
"Naw. He done been broken. When you're new to the feelin', it's hard to deal wit. I'll be spreadin' the word 'bout him, so his tricks won't be working anywhere. He can threaten, but big whoop." She chuckled, feeling a relief light her shoulders.
"Alek, you say?" She tasted the name as she had Jade's. "Very nice. Though, I had expected a big long name, something a king might use. Alek... like a young princeling then." She chuckled. "And what might Red's name be?" She asked, poking a finger at the window above them. "And if it's not too much prying, how'd the three 'ya end up in this mix?"

((>w< Hurrah! Sabra's got some time away from school work so her rp brain kinda works...for tonight. xD;; -is really sorry that she's been so slow- ))

Jade grinned at Tuula, "Big whoop indeed." The wind brushed by playfully as if acting on her sudden burst of light happiness. "Yeah, he's a lil princeling." She giggled, "You should've seen him when we first met! Talk about a stuck up kit."

"Red's name? Oh! You mean Ashierra." Jade's head tilted to the side thoughtfully, "Ya know...I don't really know. I found Alek on the mountainside clinging to Ash. So I helped them out, but besides anything else I really don't know why they're traveling together. Hmm we'll have to find out about that... So what about you, what's your story? "

"I'll bet 'e was." Tuula said, sharing the laugh. She could just imagine in even her short time knowing the male.
"Ashierra. That's pretty too. She seems like a determined feline."
Her eyes darkened ever so slightly at the mention of the gap, but not as must as it had before. "Aw, me. I live up in them mountains." She said with a vague reference of her hand directed at the mountain tops. "Lived there pretty much my entire adult life so far. Heard Red- er- Ashierra yell and went to investigate. I don't often get many noisy strangers up here."

(( I understand now. School can be a time and brain devouring pain depending on the schedule and classes. <3 Hope things go smoothly for ya! ))

"Ah, that she does." Jade's fingernails tapped lightly against her mug as she listened to Tuula. "Up in the mountains? I would say so!" Jade's voice rung out with a hint of surprise.

"Not that I hate mountains or anything." Continued Jade quickly with a small flush rising on her cheeks, "It's just...that solitude. I was raised surrounded by others all the time. It would be so weird for me to not have talk always ringing in my ears." She tilted her head and gave a soft laugh, "Then again I have been by myself lately considering the travels I've been going on. But that's just the wind leading me away." She nearly pouted but a small smile hovered over her lips, "Fate does funny things after all so I won't ask why you live by yourself on the mountains."

"But haven't you ever thought of getting out? Travel or living in a town?" Jade shook her head, "That's silly of me to think that everyone is like me. Maybe you enjoy solitude?"

((Thanks! <3 Hopefully it'll smooth out after a couple of more weeks. Takes me a bit to get used to having classes again after summer.))

At first surprised at Jade's reaction, a small smile of understanding formed. "I don' know much 'bout fate, but a stubborn teenage mind does funny things as well." Having been mocked enough for her reason for moving from her colony in the first place, she kept the rest of her life behind a mysterious smile.
"I've thought about it, but got used to being up there. By the time I thought 'bout going back, the mountains had become my home."
She tilted her head. "So, you follow the wind. Might I ask what it has led you to so far?" She smiled bashfully. "I got the wind magic prominently myself, so mehby it's 'bout time I should be lis'nen to it myself."
