Serenity squealed a bit when Gaunt nipped her ear, and she pressed her head against his shoulder.
"Tease," she giggled, sticking her tongue out at him. Then she laughed. "But you are special to me ... one of the most special people in my life."
Ian looked thoughtful as he finished cleaning up his friend. "Well ... it's getting really dark ... I bet Mom and Gaunt will want to go home soon," he mused, somewhat disappointed by the fact that the day had seemed to go by so fast. "Maybe if we hide on them, we can stay longer!"
But he had forgotten about Prince's injured ankle, and he shook his head right away. "No, you can't go anywhere. Probably best if we just go home, then you can get better and we can get ready for the next time we get together - and we're gonna finally go see the Borderlands!"
The thought excited him. He had never been there, but he had been looking forward to it for months.

Gaunt smiles softly as he kept playing with her hair, dispite it being trapped for a couple moments as she squealed and pressed her head down. "And you are special to me, as well. Dearly so."
Prince nodded slowly as he listened to Ian. He smiles some and he looks around. The sunset really didn't interest him, he wasn't hungry, looking at Gaunt and Serenity kinda felt awkward, and there really wasn't anything else interesting going on. It was kinda boring. "Oh. I see. Well, I hope you have fun at the Borderlands."

Serenity's eyes sparkled in the sudden darkness as the sun slipped below the horizon, and she resisted the temptation to kiss Gaunt again. Instead, she took her hands off his hip and chest and moved to stand up.
"We should go," she murmured softly, "while there's still enough light."
Though she had brought a flashlight with her, in anticipation of needing it to find the portal again. "I hope the boys aren't too awake ..."
Ian would probably fall asleep on the way home anyways.
"But next week, here, what time? Two thirty you said?" She was already looking forward to the next weekend, and not only for the trip.
Ian blinked at Prince. "Didn't you hear Mom and Gaunt talking? You two are coming with us!" he beamed. "It's gonna be so much fun! And Mom says I can finally get a bow of my own! My Grandma's cousin is gonna make me one! Maybe you can get one, too!"

Gaunt smiles as he gets to his feet as well, wrapping his arms around Serenity in a warm hug. "Alright, Serenity. Have a safe trip home." He slipped her a kiss - he seemed to not have a problem with self control. Or at least he didn't have a problem not practicing it very well. "And I'll be looking forward to when we can meet next. I already can't wait."
Prince nodded and he yelled out. "Daddy! I want a bow too~!" His voice had a light, whiny quality to it.
Gaunt shakes his head and he chuckles. "I won't hold my breath for it, Prince. I won't say its impossible, but I really don't think we need you sporting a bow around school."

Serenity hugged Gaunt tightly and giggled softly, kissing him back gently and briefly.
"If you don't mind Prince learning the bow simply as a hobby," she offered, "I could hold into it for him. My Papa does archery simply as a sport, really it's not uncommon."
And her school actually had classes in it ... then again, it was a school for fighting and magic.
Ian laughed at Prince. "Then maybe we can learn together!" he beamed, his eyes drooping a bit with sleep. "That would be so much fu-u-u-" He yawned. "Fun!"
Serenity heard the yawn and smiled, reluctantly slipping out of Gaunt's embrace. "Sounds like it's time to go," she murmured, kneeling to start packing everything up. "It's bedtime for a certain little boy."

He smiles softly and he nods. "I'll think about it. I don't know how he'll carry out his hobby, I don't think there's any places to practice archery around here other than going hunting." He shrugs and he smiles, moving with Serenity. The least he could do was walk Serenity to this portal.
Prince yawned with Ian and rubbed his eyes. "Stoppit, Ian. Yawning is contagious."

Serenity finished packing up her bag and slung it over her shoulder, then reached down to pick up Ian. "Well, there are areas outside of the city," she offered, "though I don't know how often you leave the city ... the meadow is a particularly safe area, maybe we could go there sometime too."
Ian yawned again, his eyes drooping so low he could barely keep them open. "S-s-sorry, Prince," he mumbled, curling up in his mother's arms. "I'm just sleepy ..."
Serenity smiled and held Ian close. "I guess it's too dark to see the painting now," she murmured. "I'll have it ready for you next week, if you like. Oh - and I hope you don't mind horses, my uncle oversees a ranch."
She waited for Gaunt to get Prince so that they could keep going.

He shrugs and he smiles softly as he picks up Prince and starts to walk with her, at a casual pace, toward the portal she intended to use. "Mmm. Usually when I leave the city, it's just to go back home. I really haven't explored the area around here that much." He smiles warmly at her and he nods slowly, feeling Prince curl up against the warmth of his body and appear to fall asleep. "Well, I'll be looking forward to seeing the painting next time. I hope nothing happens to it."

"I'll be keeping it in my bag," Serenity promised, "so it will stay safe."
She paused. "Do you have a long walk back to your dorm from here?" she asked worriedly. "I don't want you to be home too late ..."
After all, she had never spent a night in the Seconds' world before, and she wasn't sure if it was safe or not - especially in the city.

He shakes his head as they start to approach the portal. "Don't worry about it. I know I can take care of myself." He smiles softly, slipping her one more kiss, before he backed away from her. "Have a safe trip home." He stands and watches her, until she goes through the portal.
