He smiled, "It was great," he replied, taking a bite of eggs. He wasn't sure why the girls were tittering, but he mostly ignored it.

Then with a couple of sighs they were reminded as to why they never really did anything towards him. Gabi was the only on that seemed interested still. "Well that's good," She said mind distracted enough to eat. "Did you do anything exciting or just stayed home?" she asked in her motherly way. She knew he was shy but she wanted to help him maybe break that this year.

"Oh!" Gabi said as her blue eyes brightened, "how was that?" She had never been and hopped the smile meant the he was interested and that he might talk about it more. She herself was eating a chocolate muffin.

"It was interesting, went to a lot of museums," he piled some eggs on some toast and began to eat. His eyes wandered to a girl at the Ravenclaw table, but he diverted his eyes quickly.

Gabi eyes strayed with his. She giggled but decided not to say anything. "Well that's fun," She said taking another big bite of her muffin.

Gabi dropped her muffin. "What!? Why didn't any of you tell me?" she looked around at the girls. They all laughed and someone said, "You didn't come in." She playfully pouted and looked at Derek. "So you going to ask anyone special?" she asked with a wiggle of her eyebrows.

Abigail was about to take a sip of orange juice when one of her friends poked her in the arm, almost causing her to spill it. "What the-" She was interrupted by her friend that had poked her.
"Look." Chandler (that was her name) said while pointing at a Hufflepuff boy, "That Hufflepuff boy was looking at you." Abigail rolled her eyes at Chandler and glanced at the Hufflepuff boy.
"Oh, I think his name's Derek or Daniel or something. I don't know him very well." He was alright-looking, but Abigail didn't really consider Huffies very much. There was something about them she didn't really like. Just then her eyes happened to scan over the Slytherin table and she happened to see someone who made her gasp and poke Chandler back. "Who's that?"
"Who?" Chandler started to ask, but she noticed who Abigail was talking about. "I don't know his name, but I think he's in our year. Why? Do you think he's cute?"
"Maybe..." Abigail tried to hide a smile as she looked back down at her food. She couldn't really concentrate on eating though, because her eyes kept drifting back to the long-haired Slythie.

Derek glanced up, seeing someone pointing at him. He flushed a bit, returning to eating. He then glanced up and noticed they were looking somewhere else. He glanced over to where they were lookin-

Jasper looked up at Olivia and gave her the smallest of smiles, "Good morning." He said under his breath, and then looked back down at his plate. He picked up his glass and sipped the from the large ceramic mug. Jaspers pale skin was made even paler by his dark sweater and robes, he almost looked sickly, almost.

Olivia glanced around, beginning to eat. "How was your summer?" she asked, pouring herself some orange juice and grabbing something called 'toad in a hole'.

Jasper was no good at conversation he cringed inwardly and did not even try to make eye contact. "It was the same as every year." He said barely above a whisper. His free left hand curled into a ball in his lap, and his right hand held a fork that pushed the egg around his plate. He bit his lip and tried to not be too rude.
