She looked at him skeptically she didn't want to accuse him of lying but architecture? Never judge a book by it's cover, but wasn't there a saying that said don't believe everything you hear? Thinking over her options she settled with , "You don't have to tell me the truth but please don't lie to me." her voice was quiet so other people wouldn't over hear without trying then she brightened up a bit, "Let's eat in the room, I hate crowded places." Looking back for a second, "Do you guys happen to have moonshine?" Her smile was innocent enough and when they gave her the bottle it was the size of a 20oz coke but clear. She wasn't a heavy drinker but she enjoyed it but moonshine was it she could drink in the human world. Asking for any Fae drink would be stupid on her part and so much was made with machines. Tucking the bottle away she took a few steps toward the door to go back to the room, "Coming?" she asked politely.

Marcus was kicking himself on the inside for having made such an obvious lie. Marcus took a quick look around the room before responding, "We'll talk about me when we get to the room." Marcus's plan was to be open about himself -for the most part- and hopefully that would lead to her being open as well.
Yet another surprise from Akido. At least now he wouldn't be afraid to drink in front of her. A bit lost in thought, Marcus hadn't seen her begin to leave and took a few quick steps to catch up after she called to him. All the while being sure to keep his meal balanced.

"Ya alright." Stopping to let him catch up she walked next to him popping a piece of lettuce in her mouth she chewed it slowly before smiling. It would be nice to be able to eat what she wanted here since none of it was processed, it just appeared. Akido would still be careful but it was nice to know. Her good mood was growing, they weren't talking about her but the silence wasn't overly awkward to her, she didn't blame him for not telling the truth, they were all hear because they felt they had something to hide. When they got back she opened the door easily and setting down on the bed with the tray in her lap taking a small cautious bite of the meat to see how limited what she could eat was but she didn't taste anything metallic so she was fine. Looking at him she wondered what the real story was, but it was up to him to tell it.

The entire walk back to the room Marcus was deciding what he would tell her and what would be left out. When they final entered the room, Marcus shut the door behind him and set his lunch down on the desk. Making his way to his bag, he pulled out the bottle of orange juice and vodka, quickly drinking the remainder of it. Inebriation would hopefully come quickly, these kind of conversations were easier when he wasn't sober.
Setting the bottle back in the bag, he sat at the foot of his bed, his eyes to the floor. "Well, I can create these sounds and pulses that mess with peoples brains depending on the noise I make." His eyes shifted upwards to meet hers, checking for her reaction. "It all started when I was in a plane crash. Somehow I lived, but the doctors pretty much had to put me back together like a puzzle. That's how I ended up with the plate in my mouth, along with several other plates and such." Of course, he left out the reason he was on the plane to begin with. "So when I woke up from a month long coma, I discovered my gift..." His eyes were back at the floor after he finished.

Taking another petite bite of steak Akido listened with curiosity, "That isn't so horrible. There are worse powers one could have then being able to emit strange noises." Taking a drink of the alcohol it was powerful but not the most she had tasted. "All things considered it is a miracle that you survived plane crash at all." Keeping the subject away from herself she commented, "It is odd I don't see any signs of other plates, even the ones in your mouth are not visible to the naked eye." Setting down the knife, she didn't enjoy being indoors this much but it was part of what she had to deal with as she gauged how much she believed of his story but decided that it was truth. Without meaning to she had fallen back into using her court expression that showed no emotion across her face.

Marcus couldn't help but let his mind drift to the parts he had left out. Murdering his girlfriend, the jail escape in which he killed most of the inmates and security guards and living on the streets for the past few years using crime as a way of surviving. All these things Marcus felt could wait. The idea was for her to feel comfortable around him, not scare her off.
"I suppose your right, I just still feel like an outcast and not quite comfortable talking about my abilities. Guess I've just gotten used to that mindset, you know..."
After Akido's next statement, Marcus couldn't help but think to himself, If only she knew... Though most of the plates themselves weren't visible, they did leave quite unsightly scars. "Yeah, doctors can do some pretty amazing stuff these days." Marcus had almost forgotten about his meal. He grabbed the tray off the desk and sat back down on the bed. He took small bites, not wanting to have a full mouth and make a slob out of himself.

"Yes it's easy to fall into a mindset and forget what truly happened." Her gaze grew distant as she thought about her last days among the courts, what had passed between her and her cousin. Closing her eyes she shook her head as if to dispel the thoughts that accumulated, "Yes doctors are quite amazing now days I remember when they thought leaches were useful and holy water was the cure of all evils." Her voice was distant even to her own ears as she spoke forgetting she was passing as a mere 19, a child's age. Letting out a deep breath she smiled acting more like herself, "I quite enjoy working with doctors, I was a nurse before I came to this school I have some healing ability so the doctors loved me." Of course she had left because she had lost control of her powers and accidentally cured everyone within the hospital. That had been an extremely bad day for a slight slip of power. If she put her mind to it she probably could end world disease but it wasn't on her to do list. She stopped eating something not quite agreeing with her but her smile didn't falter as she set the plate aside and went to sipping water. Living with the humans did not agree with her, but she could not go home.

Marcus continued to eat as she spoke, eventually finishing his sub. Marcus thought back to how when he first had arrived, he hoped he would be without a room mate. However, now that Akido was here, he felt her company might be something he could get used to.
"Why'd you leave? Sounds like you had it pretty set at the hospital." Marcus asked before taking a sip of his Coke. He felt that it was time he learned a bit more about her having given his side of the story already.

A scowl crossed her features, "I worked at a pediatric hospital. They don't care how many lives I saved, they don't like having those with powers treating their children. They were worried that if I used my ability to heal them that I would some how cause them to become mutants. Like I was disease." Bits and pieces of story since her start in the human world it was close enough to truth. Sighing she sipped her water before setting even that aside. Today was going to be a blessing and a curse she could feel it now. "I do miss the hospital at times. It was nice to be useful and the kids were great. The other doctors didn't get how they didn't drive me batty but where I am from children are prized greatly because it is rare for a woman to be able to get pregnant and even rarer for the child to make it to term. It's sad how so many people can just abandon them or would let them die so easily." A serene smile slipped into place, she really did love kids "And here I am rambling again." Picking at the gloves she pulled them off dropping them in her bag along with the shoes she wore. She hated wearing shoes most of the time.

Marcus once again sat quietly and listened, but when the topic of children came up, his heart sank. The topic of children was always touchy when it came to Marcus, his mind always drifted back to Sam. His eyes again dropped, his mind swimming through painful memories. Marcus raised his hand over his heart and gently held it there. After Sam was born Marcus had gotten a tattoo of Sam's name on his chest, right over his heart. Amazingly, when he had gotten in the plane accident, that tattoo was spared and was still very much visible, framed with scars. But to every one else, all of his tattoo's were still visible.
Marcus couldn't seem to bring himself back to reality, his mind was stuck on the memories of his son. His laugh when Marcus would make funny faces and noises, the way he would sleep so soundly, never waking during the night. Most painfully of all, Marcus remembered his hand limply laying over the pillow that was being pushed against his face. Marcus was filled with so much sorrow and anger, but he would do his best not to show it.

Watching him in silence, Akido realized she had hit a bad subject as she bowed her head and he didn't speak, "I'm sorry." Taking the plate she barely touched she dumped it into the garbage brushing her fingertips across his shoulder as he passed. She wasn't trying to hit on him but offer a comforting touch or at least bring him back to the present. Akido had never lost a child but she had been denied the one thing she had truly wanted, a little one to call her own. Taking her place back on the bed, she folded her legs beside her. If what she suspected was true, she knew no words to make it better. In her world to kill a child was to condemn yourself to death and they were to precious. To loose a child of illness even was just as uncommon for it could only happen through neglect.

Marcus's eyes kept locked to the floor, but then slowly closed them, "There's nothing to be sorry about..." his tone low and obviously full of pain. Akido's touch sent chills throughout his body.
Marcus opened his eyes and looked into Akido's. "I'm uhh...I'm kind of tired..." he said, nervously scratching that back of his head "I'm going to take a bit of a nap. If you need anything don't be afraid to wake me up." Marcus kicked off his boots, each one making a loud thud as they his the floor. He then laid down on top of the covers, his back to Akido.

"Heh,I'm guessing you've had a...similar experience? Well try being a wolf....actually it was more painful when I stopped being a wolf..." He shuddered slightly. He remembered the moment well enough. He'd been in wolf form...back then he'd pretty much always been in wolf for accept for the odd moment he suddenly had to walk on two legs. He'd gotten caught in the hunters trap, normally pain like that caused a slightly different form to surface, but instead he turned human. Changing to a creature with larger ankles was NOT a fun experience in that situation. After a moment Luke sighed and held up his thumbs "I love thumbs. You never truly appreciate these things until you've found out what its like not having em..." He was rambling, he knew it, but for the moment he didn't care.

As they approached a set of stares, Luke pointed up them "Rooms are on the second and third floors."

Luna quickly shifted into a ball, that looked like a dog's toy and stared at the guy, I wonder what that he is doing here. She realized that she couldn't talk to Cole in this form but if she transformed now she would attract detection to her and Cole. She started to move herself away by rolling to the building and transformed quickly into a board that blended with the wall.

Eve ate her food rather slow but she didn't want to cause herself to get a build up of gas nor did she want to binge and seem like a pig... to a cat. What Evening was thinking she didn't know but for some reason she wanted to act nicely just in case the cat's owner came by.

Thinking about it, that had been worse, she had been going smaller so had stuck a branch to keep it from closing completely around her human leg. Same thing with thumbs. As a bear she didn't have them like humans did but they were there and a bit more usable. BJ would have commented but there is only so much you can say about shape shifting when you are lying from the start. Smiling at the steps, "Cool thanks." Going up the steps with her pack she only made it a few steps before asking, "Is there anything fun to do around here?"

Akido nodded to him silently turning her back to walk over to her window. Lifting it silently she swung her legs out the window sitting on the edge. It was only the second story but it had a nice view and it helped her not to feel so trapped. Thinking about everything that was around the school Akido wondered where to go. She didn't want to irritate Logan with to many questions since she had only just gotten there and she had obviously upset Marcus. That was pretty much the limit of people she knew here other than the were boy. There were gardens and that sounded promising. It was to bad that there were no balconies she thought as she sat on the ledge resting her hands lightly on her knees.
