Elnara giggled and blushed softly, turning her hand and holding Lore's warmly.
"We think so, at least," she admitted happily. "We're hoping so." She looked up at Lore again. "You're the researcher ... how long do you think we have to wait to know for sure?"
After all, false alarms weren't unheard of ...

Lore coughed and blushed a bit, "Soonest would probably be when you're sure you missed your cycle completely."
He was sure that would show itself sooner than any of the other symptoms, since there was no test here like there were back home. Though he didn't know why he embarassed him to mention that aspect. Lore tried not to blush too much.

Arwen giggled. "Aw, look at Uncle Lore," she teased him. "He's embarrassed!"
"Arwen!" Elrohir said sharply, giving his daughter a look that clearly said that if she didn't behave she would be punished, and severely.
Arwen coughed softly. "Sorry, Uncle Lore. Just teasing."

Elnara giggled softly and stroked the back of Lore's hand reassuringly.
"Well, it shouldn't be too long of a wait then," she murmured. "Though ... I should probably have warned you ... such talks are common here, especially among the women ..."
Still holding his hand and trying to make him feel more at ease, she added through thought, I've only been more quiet on subjects as these because of what happened to me ... when I was younger ... most people have no troubles with such discussions that might be more ... private or intimate in Gaia.

"I should have figured that," Lore laughed softly.
He smiled at Arwen and nodded, to let her know that he didn't take it the wrong way.
"One would think I wouldn't have a problem..."
People in the profession would normally shake their head as to why normal (laypeople) found the topic so taboo in the first place, but then again he was not a doctor or healer by profession.

"Well, you're from a completely different world," Arwen pointed out. "There must be more than just some things that are different."
Just then Haradhel appeared with the final pot of food, as she had promised, and she brought it over and set it carefully onto a clear spot on the table.
"Okay," she murmured softly. "Let's eat."
She reached over to ruffle Ahren's hair, smiling warmly at him, obviously glad he had made it for dinner, though she said nothing to him.
"Guests first," Elrohir smiled, reaching for Lore and Elnara's plates.

"Thank you," Elnara said warmly, handing her plate to Elrohir so that he could fill it for her.
It was such a wonderful evening ... a wonderful day ... she honestly didn't know how she could be happier.

Dinner when along smoothly, and it was a wonderful dinner. Though Lore wondered if it was also because of the excitement, the thought that Elnara was probably pregnant (or pregnant). As the meal was winding down, topics of conversation went around.
Anything from how things were going to where Ahren planned to travel one day (and when), and of course what the two were going to do while being here for the rest of the year. Though with a baby.... some of that what were they going to do was answered for them.

After dinner was over and conversation seemed to slow, Elnara apologized and explained that she was feeling tired, and needed to be home to rest. It was only a matter of a few short minutes later before she and Lore were outside, alone once again, and on their way back to the valley.
"It was nice to have Ahren there again," she smiled, holding her cloak closed around her to ward off the evening chill. "Don't you think?"

"It was... and very nice to know how he's doing besides hearing it second hand."
Second hand was all good and well, but at times it didn't beat actually hearing from the person in question.

Elnara nodded. "Though it does give me thought ..." She giggled. "One thing we'll never be able to say about this baby is that it's growing up too fast ... not after the other children."
Celebor's first growth had shocked her - and saved her, now that she remembered it. But to have him grown and having a family of his own, all in less than a year and a half ...
"Do you realize," she giggled, "that by the time this baby is Celebor's age, they'll only be learning to walk and talk?"

Lore chuckled a bit, "Yes... yes I do realize that. It is going to take a whiel to adjust to having a natural baby around..."
Even with all the children that they did have, he couldn't think of one where it was anything close to having an actual baby. Which was so strange when he thought about it.

Elnara giggled and put one hand on her stomach.
"I can't wait to meet our little one," she murmured softly, her eyes sparkling brightly. She leaned her head on Lore's shoulder, smiling widely, and slipped one hand into his, lacing her fingers with his. "I didn't even know if it would be possible ... being as we're from two different races of elves ..."
She blushed. "I've never been so happy to be wrong."

Of course it brought a very interesting question to Lore's mind. He wondered if perhaps there were adaptable genes that were unique to Gaia (since Gaians interracially married often and yet still somehow managed to keep a high number of pure races).
"Must be a Gaian quality," Lore murmured thoughtfully, before grinning at her blush, "It's one of those wonderful unexpected surprises."
He held her hand and kept her close.
"I wonder what he... or she... will look like...."
That was another curious question though he'd imagine the child would have Elnara's dark hair... granted his hair was the result of mutation, but that could be said about any blond to begin with.

"As long as I can see you in him ... or her," Elnara murmured with a warm smile, "I'll be happy."
She looked up at him. "That brings up another point ... we have time to make a proper nursery here ... but when we go back to Gaia ... everything will be ready in our new house, except for that."
She giggled. "Unless of course someone has been spying on us through magic," she added, "though I think they would have enough respect for our privacy not to while we're here."
