Bleh, my mom is a freak. Let's just state it open and plainly here.
She hasn't been too, too bad for the entire length of my obsession, but she can be a real b***h.
Worst incident: I would talk about Erik and one day she decided that she was tired of hearing me say the name "Erik" so she started charging me a quarter every time I said the name. This got me so pissed I can't even describe it, and was one of two factors that caused me to take a break from PotO and the guild for a while last year.
Otherwise, I don't think she likes my obsession much. She deliberately tries to annoy me by saying stuff about PotP that is not true, and when I tell her reasons it can't be true, she just says that she doesn't believe me because I've lied to her in the past, and the only way to make her believe me is to let her see the movie and so forth.
It wouldn't be so bad if my mom wasn't such a picky b***h about movies. I might have let her watch it if this was so. But, not just being the most convincing person I know (she can convince almost anyone of anything if it isn't too far-fetched) but also very ranty about movies she didn't like, I refuse to let her see it.
Granted, I think she had a partial view of Rocky Horror Picture Show, but still, I'm suspicious that she might not like PotP. And if she didn't, she'd rant about bad acting, bad writing, bad story, blah, blah, blah, why it was complete crap and the like. You get the point. And, somehow, she'd make me believe her bullshit. At least for a time. So I refuse to let her see it. Seems fair enough.
And she has pulled the "Oh, you wouldn't really like Winslow" on me, because she doesn't much like what I've said about him. And even there she's making assumptions. It doesn't actually bother me much, but she does seem to be ignoring what I've told her time and again.

Parents, moslty moms, need to leave us alone about our so called "obession" And they really need to stop assuming who we would chose/what we would do if we met Erik (Winslow in your case)

Here's one: people who dont know the lines and can't carry a tune and persist on "singing" a part anyway and just filing in the gaps with " duh dah day something etc.."

chaosdaae Here's one: people who dont know the lines and can't carry a tune and persist on "singing" a part anyway and just filing in the gaps with " duh dah day something etc.." My ex french teacher was like that. He didn't know the words to Masquerade (he would always sing wrong lyrics). So I gave him the lyrics, he took one look at them and sang: "Marmalade! Every jar a different shape, Marmalade look around theres another jar behind you!"But it didn't bother me cuz he was a fan too and let us have a POTO party in his room on the Friday after the movie came onto DVD.

It does happen. And not every one of us is 47. XD But really, if it gets off-topic, tell them stfu and put it in their journal. Or get me. I don't check every thread like I used to, but most of them.

It's only when they persist to sing the wrong lyrics seriously that it gets annoying. And every phan has done the forgotten lyric thing here and there. We all have to learn the words before we can sing it 24/7.
