Ebony jumped with surprise at the sound of Alec speaking, however she concealed her startled jump by dropping Jasper's right hand, with only one finger broken. So immersed was she with dispensing her torture Ebony had not even heard Alec's approach to the dismal cell. Clearing her throat, Ebony stood up and faced Alec and opening her red lips she responded to Alec's question: "Well, I suppose you could say Jasper is handling the torture rather well. I don't believe that thus far the treatment has impaired his sanity, although I also believe I have solved his attitude problem." Pausing in her evaluation Ebony looked down at Jasper, his chest heaved sporadically and his eyelids fluttered like a fleshy butterflies wings. His body sat in a red glistening pool of blood, and one side of his face had blossomed into an array of different colored bruises, and his arm hung limply to the side. Ebony then looked again to his hands, the left's fingers had become a grotesque mockery of what it had once been, for now it had become a mangled mess of broken fingers. It was not in Ebony's nature to question Alec, but her artwork was far from complete:"But sir, I have barely even begun, are you sure this is enough for now?" as Ebony finished she balled her hands into fists due to her anxiety. She had been doing so well to please Alec recently, she did not want leave his good favor.

Logan put his head in his hands. The phone was resting next to him, but he couldn’t look at it. If it wasn’t Jess’s it would have been tossed over the side by now. Everything had fallen apart. All the plans that he had ever made, all of the problems he wanted to solve- it just crumbled to nothing. Logan could only get up by telling himself he had done that he could do. He was preventing anyone from dying. No one could ask for more, and if they did, he didn’t care. He was getting Jasper back safely without anyone being hurt. That was what mattered. Logan slowly stood up and leapt from the top of the building. Everyone was talking excitedly when he entered, but as soon as they noticed him their eyes were on him. He gave them a weak smile. “Jasper is alive. We are getting him back tomorrow night. Alec will meet me in front of his building and we will trade: Jasper for me. He agreed not to harm anyone, but to be safe I’d like it if you guys stayed a safe distance away.” Logan shrugged, unable to think for anything else to say at the moment. He was so tired and the wound in his abdomen was burning where he had moved so much. He exhaled slowly and pushed past everyone, yanking a blanket off the table as he went by. He settled against the wall, drawing the blanket over his bare chest. “We should get some rest,” he stated. “It’s going to be a long day tomorrow.”

Jess watched Syvra enter excitedly and she told them that Alec was negociating with Logan. Jess looked at Alice, eagerly. Then soon after Logan slumped into the room, "Jasper is alive. We are getting him back tomorrow night. Alec will meet me in front of his building and we will trade: Jasper for me. He agreed not to harm anone, but to be safe I'd like it if you guys stayed a safe distance away." Jess watched Logan's expressions carefully, he seemed drained. He strugged and grabbed a blanket and slumped down onto a wall to sleep, "We should get some rest...It's going to be a long day tomorrow."
Jess's eyes widened, "No...they need Logan here...no..." Jess walked over to Logan quickly and sat down next to him and Logan opened one eye, "What is it, Jess?" Her eyes were full of fear, "Logan..no..they need you here...you can't trade yourself for Jasper..I love him, yes. But the rest of us need you..not me." She paused..."Trade me instead, Logan...please. Alec wouldn't be happy but you know more of the ritual than I do.."

((( KurimusonChishio, no offense, but I have no idea what is going on with your character. Like I said, the Cursed are no longer in the warehouse. Your character still seems to be there but is interacting with the Cursed in the basement. Maybe I missed something, but what your character is doing makes no sense. )))

On any other day Alec might have been upset at having someone question his orders, however casual they sounded. But luckily for Ebony and even Jasper, Alec was in a very good mood after his talk with Logan. So rather than scold Ebony, Alec merely chuckled at her anxiousness to resume her work. “Calm your nerves, Ebony. I only wish to speak with you for a moment. You may resume working after I leave if that is what you want.” He combed a hand through his shock of white hair and closed his eyes. “I need to get of here for a little while. I can’t remember the last time I went out and actually hunted.” He opened his eyes again and there was a dangerous glint in the amber. “I will also be visiting the home of an old friend of mine. Before I came to talk to you I spoke with Logan on Jasper’s phone. I’m sorry to say that tomorrow night we will be getting rid of your new toy. But before I do there are a few things I need to check up on. Old papers and books- boring things, really. My point is, I will be gone for quite some time, possibly until far after morning if I can’t find what I need.” Alec leaned against the cold wall of the cell and glanced at Jasper. He noted with a smile that she was right about getting rid of his attitude problem. When he looked back up at her the cool smile was still there. “While I am away I would like you to keep an eye on everything, especially Jasper, but also the upstairs, like my office.” His expression became darker, though he retained his good mood. “There are those who would love to see me dead, or at least would steal from me in my absence.”

Ebony exhaled the breath she hadn't realized she was holding, and gave Alec one of her few genuine smiles. "Thank you sir for the trust you have placed in me, I will not let you down." spoke Ebony, whilst assuring Alec of her devotion through the determination that swept across her features. After her slight pause Ebony added:" I hope you enjoy your hunt sir," finishing with a polite and respectful bow of her head. The relief coursing through her veins helped Ebony control her nerves and her hands slipped out from their previous balled positions, to hang loosely down at her sides. So, she wouldn't have Jasper for much longer? The thought certainly was a dampener but the new responsibilities Alec had bestowed upon her easily countered this. She would finish up Jasper as soon as Alec left the room, and when Alec started his own personal mission she would go to the upper levels and monitor that everything was in order. Ebony believed that fortune most certainly smiled upon her in recent times, for yet again another opportunity to prove her worth had arisen.

Lila yawned tiredly as she walked home from the restaurant. The moon wavered in her eyes as to show her that she needed sleep fast. But before she can do that, she will need to do some blood letting.
"Maybe I can bribe the boss to let me leave earlier..." She kept walking at a slow pace with her katana strap at her waste and her jade necklace hidden from view under her zipped up hoodie. Everything is as it should be but than a pulsing feeling in her nose stopped her in her steps.
"Oh lord, why now!" She ran to an alley way further down the street and leaned onto the wall for support and held her nose tightly. "No, not now, I'm only just a bit more from home!" She crouches in a fetal position and let her bangs cover her face as her nose started to heat up. Than in one fast motion, spurs of blood came and covered the front of her hoodie and leaked onto the ground, and it was still coming out. 'I forget to let it out one stinking time during the morning and this happens?!' She stayed cradled until the blood stopped pouring and finally stood up and examined her self. She looks as if she had just committed a bloody murder. 'Ah dam, got to run home before unwanted attention comes. '
((Thanks! Don't know what to write... o3o...))

Alec nodded, satisfied. “When this is all said and done, Ebony, look forward to a very big promotion.” He smiled and turned away, leaving her to do as she pleased with Jasper. He moved silently into the elevator at the end of the hall, except this time he did not tell it to take him to the top. He pressed the button to go up only a short number of floors. There he exited, and after surprising some employees with his presence, left the building, walking swiftly to his destination. People bustled around the ever-awake city, but none were so unintelligent as to bump into him. On the contrary, they seemed keen to get as far away from him as possible. They may not know why, but their brains were telling him that he was bad news. Alec had no doubt, however, that his hunt would go smoothly.

Alice had been happy about the news...that was until the part about trading Logan for Jasper. "What!? Are you on crack?!" Logan looked up at her, his eyes tired. "Alice I have to." She didn't listen to him, she turned and stormed out of the basement. Slamming the door behind her. Out in the alley, the moon shone on the cold brick walls of the building they where currently hiding out in. Alice jumped and grabbed a hold of the fire escape ladder, pulling herself up. She climbed up the fire escape until she reached the roof. Alice sat on the edge of the roof, staring down at the nothingness below. Her feet dangling over the edge, sending little spurts of adrenaline through her body. What was he thinking? Once we get Jasper how the hell are we going to get Logan back? We have nothing else to trade but me. He can't honestly believe we are just going to leave him there... Alice crawled back over the edge and laid on the roof top, staring up into the dark sky. The stars shining down like gem stones on a black silk sheet. "Well...at least Jess will have Jasper back...." Alice sighed as she closed her eyes. She couldn't loose him...not again.

Logan watched as Alice ran off before turning slowly back to Jess. He breathed in deeply, wishing that for once he could get some peace. “Jess,” he said through sore lips. His whole body hurt, actually. Sky’s punches were finally being felt. “There isn’t any other way. Alec wouldn’t accept any other trade. And besides, he would kill you the second he saw you. He won’t kill me, not yet. I know how Alec is. This is the best way.” Jess opened her mouth to argue but Logan shook his head. “I’ve had enough fighting for one day. And nothing you can say will change my mind.” He stood up, dragging the blanket along with him. “I’m going to make sure the kid hasn’t fled the scene of the crime.” He left the little basement once again, wondering how many times he would have to climb to the roof before the night was over. Ignoring the fire escape and using grown claws, Logan heaved his way up. Alice was lying down with her eyes closed, but he was sure she knew he was there. Logan walked over and dropped to her side heavily, draping the blanket over his shoulders. “Everything is going to be alright,” he promised, looking down at her.

Pride and a sense of accomplishment rose up in Ebony more so now than ever before. A promotion from Alec? The possibilities that it could entail were endless. As Alec left, Ebony waited and stared at the space Alec possessed until even the echo of his footsteps could no longer be heard. Ebony quickly turned back to Jasper, the movement was so sudden that her hair was flung out into a wild wave, cascading back into place once the momentum had ended. Ebony needed to make this quick, only a few more details were needed to make the most basic of finishes. Looking to Jasper's left hand Ebony noticed the lack of symmetry it had compared to his right. Swooping down Ebony latched onto the hand and fluidly snapped his ring finger, delighting in the delirious vampire's groans. The sound of bones being crunched and fingers being forced into unnatural positions repeated themselves, until all fingers were at odd angles and swollen with a variety of purple hues marring the skin. It was this sudden, albeit repeated pain that forced Jasper into the dark haven of his own mind once again. Ebony frowned and deliberated continuing on. Thinking back on what Alec had told her, she reasoned she wouldn't have Jasper for much longer. It had been a while since she had had this sort of pleasurable occasion, and to waste it seemed foolish.
The gentle slapping of Jasper's cheeks wouldn't work this time so Ebony employed a strong backhanded slap on the already sensitive skin. Jasper groaned and knowing that her quarry was aware enough for her last torture Ebony continued. "Okay then Jasper, the finishing touch." Ripping off the sleeve of her black business suit, Ebony fashioned a crude blind fold and fastened it around the prone vampire's eyes. "This torture is particularly effective on vampire's in your position Jasper. With all that loss of blood I'm sure you'd be rather thirsty right now." Walking out of the cell Ebony came across a small grubby bar fridge oddly placed at the very end of the corridor. Ebony opened the door and smiled at the contents, a few precious packets of blood lay untouched on the rack. When Ebony had first started interrogating and torturing vampire's for Alec, she had requested this small hoard for those specific reasons. The packets of blood acted as both bargaining chip and torture device. Sliding a bag off the shelf Ebony closed the door and stood up straight again, tossing the chilled packet lightly into the air as she walked back to Jasper's cell.
Scanning the room Ebony sighted a length of rope, and grinning she picked it up and fastened the bag of blood onto it. Ebony then began to rub the bag, warming it up, the cold trickles of evaporation slid down her arm and made goosebumps rise up on her pale skin. Releasing only a centimeter of her garroting wire Ebony lightly punctured the bag, resulting in a tiny droplet of blood to trickle down the clear plastic and to mingle with the evaporated water. Grabbing a wooden stool, Ebony slid it over to the hanging ceiling light, the stool squealing against the cement as she did. Standing up on said stool Ebony reached up to the chain it hung from and tied the end of the frayed rope to it. Carefully Ebony let go of the length of rope and stepping down she watched the crimson bag gently swing from the light. The bag then began to let loose a randomly timed drop of blood, until eventually the small red gems began to patter on the floor. Walking back to Jasper Ebony smirked and gently spoke to him: "Hear that Jasper? Or can you smell it better than hear it right now?" The blindfolded Jasper merely gritted his teeth in frustration and so Ebony continued: "Well Jasper, I suppose now you know what it's like to be a recovering drug or alcohol abuser. The thing you desire is so close and yet you can't even touch it. But that's it from me Jasper, I have other duties to attend to, so please enjoy the scent. Ta ta!" Ebony turned around and as she reached the door of the cell Ebony closed it behind her and turned off the light. As Ebony walked away the sound of the blood splashing onto the floor was all she could hear, but later she assumed, when she checked up on Jasper she would most certainly hear him begging to be released, so he could feast on the measly packet of blood. But no matter how much he begged she wouldn't let him have the blood, but this prolonged torture was to end tomorrow. Ebony sighed, and pushing the elevator button she stared absentmindedly at the orange glow. How many vampires had she seen reduced to wild chained beasts through this torture?
Shrugging Ebony stepped into the arrived elevator and leaned against the mirrored wall, inspecting her clothes as she did. Numerous splatters of blood adorned her black and red business suit, and it was torn and cut in several places, even her shoes were covered in blood from when Jasper had dug his nails into her ankles. Arriving at the top level Ebony began to slowly walk around, it appeared no one was there and so Ebony headed into Alec's office. Opening the doors and looking around the room one of Ebony's delicately shaped eyebrows rose in mild surprise. The usual ornaments that graced Alec's office were missing, Alec must have not desired them any more...or lost his temper. Ebony sighed and crossing the threshold Ebony walked over to the phone on Alec's desk and asked for a clean change of clothes for herself to be brought up, as well as a much desired meal with coffee. Sitting down into one of the guest chairs in front of Alec's desk Ebony relaxed in the brief respite, until her requested items were brought up to her. Glaring at the odd looks she received Ebony snatched her pressed suit and her meal off the attendants. Hurriedly changing into the new suit Ebony sat herself back down again and ate her meal on her lap. The thought of eating off Alec's desk seemed utterly inappropriate. Content in her new clothes and full stomach, Ebony stood back up and walked out of Alec's office with her soiled clothes in hand, throwing them in a small nearby bin that was in the corridor. Stretching Ebony then began to check on the other floors, it was going to be a long night.
