Akiko set silently in her seat gazing at her equally silent partner; it seemed they both were at a loss of what to do next. She mentally made a list of everything they’ve done but the final step didn’t seem to surface in her mind. “What was that?” She mentally questioned herself as she refocused on Naoki, giving the girl a concerned look she offered what came naturally to her after someone sneezed “Bless you.” Once the silence between the two girls returned the younger of the two began her thoughtless staring, a few minutes into her staring Akiko noticed the green eyed girl pulling out what looked to be colored pencils, and then black liquid after the other incidents passed. “I’ll be right back...” Akiko used this time to dig though her kit and find the items as well.

As the taller of the girls began using the pencil its purpose became clear to Akiko; now she had to decide which one she would use for the coy girl beside her. After a few more minutes of motionless waiting the fair haired girl was finally able to know the use of the black liquid, and the reason why Naoki went to get sponges.

Looking at her color options Akiko still wasn’t sure of which one she should use, but she would at least get one step out of the way. Grapping her miniature tool she dipped it into the black liquid and began the same applying and drying process that her colleague used. Setting the liquid, comb, and sponge aside Akiko began to look at the lip colors once more. “How about this light pink with a brown tint.” Seizing the decided color the girl began to feather on an outline of Naoki’s lips, once the outline was complete she colored them in. “Alright all finished. Wow you look different.” Akiko said, loud enough for only Naoki to hear, after she was able to truly look at her again.

Naoki blushed when Akiko said she looked different; the flush only deepened when the teacher called attention to it as well. She didn't like being the center of attention. The girl picked up the items still left out and put them into the make-up kit, making sure everything was neatly put away. Then, with careful steps, she approached the sack of hair supplies and picked up a hairtie, a brush, and a bag of bobby pins. Another girl was attempting to pull her hair up into a bun; Naoki was going to try something similar, though she was going to leave some of her hair loose. Once she had all her supplies, she returned to her seat and untied the ribbon from around her hair. It quickly got the locket strung back on it and returned to around her throat. She then set out to working the knots out of her hair. The process took a little longer than if she brushed it everyday, but it soon enough it was falling in gently waves down past her shoulder blades. Naoki couldn't help running her fingers through the silky strands; she hadn't felt her hair like this in a very long time. Since her mother brushed her hair out everyday when she was a small child, if she remembered right...

She tried to pull it back again, this time ruining the part in her hair to do so. This time, the top laid down smooth, without any snags or bumps. Naoki picked up the hair tie and wrapped it around the hair till she was sure the thick strands were secure. Sighing in relief once it was in place, she pulled on the shorter strands around her face, pulling them loose to continue to frame her face and join the hair she had left down in the back. The strands in the back weren't wavy from being pulled back, nor were the shorter strands; instead, they were straight as her hair naturally was. The young girl ran her fingers through the ponytail, making sure all the hairs were free of the hair tie before she attempted to wrap it up and pin it.

Just when she thought it was secure, Naoki reached up and felt a strand of hair that was in the ponytail, but wasn't in the bun. She undid a few of the pins and, using them and several others, wrapped the strand into place and secure it. Thankfully, it stayed in place this time. Now, what to do with it... Hadn't the teacher said something about ornaments? Returning to the bag, she began to sort through what was in there, all the while pondering what to use in her hair. It was strange to try and make herself look attractive. Normally, she would rather hide in a corner.

Naoki paused when she found two matching clips. They were shaped like white sakura, a single green leaf attached to each blossom. The clips were very pretty, with the faintest of shines to them. She ran her fingers over the backs and the fronts, trying to figure out how to open them. A frown tugged at her lips when she couldn't figure it out. Surely it shouldn't be that difficult to open them?

Orika had gotten tired of waiting for the nurses to respond to her attention seeking questions. Instead of using her time productively, the girl took the time in between exercises to trace the various groves carved deep into the desks by bored students. She was about to pull out her kunai and scribble a stick figure or two when a heavily perfumed hand brushed against her hairband. "I never thought of that," said Orika, immediately standing up. She practically dove for Kumiko's bag, her tanned fingers knocking the heavy sack onto the ground. "Don't worry, I got it!" she yelled. With a playful smirk, the bored-to-death girl scrambled onto the desk, savoring any excuse for action. The rogue crouched while her hands gripped the edge of the thickly cut bamboo until splinters stabbed into the skin underneath her nails. Letting out a loud whoop, she leapfrogged over a chair and came crashing down on the Kumiko's bag. Giggling at the rush of adrenaline she'd been missing all day, Orika ripped open the drawstring. The untimely fall probably made her look like a total idiot and hurt, but it was really fun. She might even suggest that they all play leapfrog for tomorrow, but Orika found she was content messing around with cosmetics too. Just not all day, though! The girl whipped the homemade cloth out of her rusty brown hair and furiously dug around in the satchel for anything that would fit. "Ooh, heads up, Akiko!" Orika called, flinging a furry white scrunchy Snowball's way. "I think this'd look really good on you." She had no idea what would go well with her hair band, on the other hand.

"Oh, thank you, sensei" Serena took the picture and looked at the bun, making it a lot easier for her to see how it was done. 'Ah, so it's like this..' She wrapped her hair in a circled around the band and inserted a few pins in. It actually held up this time. The Raiken smiled and continued to work on the bun until it was complete. "There, that's it.." but somehow, it looked too..neat. She felt like it needed to be less..neat. Like messy, but still look good. There had to be something she could do with it. Serena picked up a comb and brushed it forward from her bun. After a few strokes, strands of hair stood out more and the hair didn't look so tight. Then she began playing with the bun, pulling out strands and rubbing it loose. The finished look was much more relaxed and pretty. She smiled and picked up a nice ornament to dcorate her hair with and pinned it in. It was a pretty good look for Serena, but she wanted to try some more before choosing.

For a moment, the room grew eerily quiet, which Orika wouldn't have minded had the silence not been attributed to a bunch of girls staring dumbly at their hair. She was kind of surprised to realize that nobody in the class had ever messed with cosmetics or hair before, except maybe Hanabira and Serena. And even those girls probably drew forth some natural beautifying talent to get their make up to shine like that. They certainly didn't look like they spent every academy class for the past two or three years prettying themselves up. The thought that this rather dull day only occurred once brightened Orika's gloomy face. She'd seen people return home with all manners of bruises and scrapes nearly all the time so there was a really high chance that they'd do something ultra fun tomorrow. Orika reached up and ruffled her light chestnut hair until the locks disassociated, tumbling in front of her face. Man, she never knew her bangs were so long. The girl sneezed when one of the hairs wormed its way into her nose. "Ah-ahh-choo! 'Scuse me," Orika muttered, rubbing her nose. She probably needed to comb her unruly boyish hair first. As the unfamiliar comb danced atop her head, Orika looked over at Akiko again and asked the girl cheerfully, eager to make conversation, "So, do you like the color white a lot? Even your hair is like snow. Is that natural? Do you come from somewhere cold 'cause its not that cold and you're already wearing a heavy coat? And-," The words just flowed out of her mouth like water from a cliff. Orika took a deep breath, ready to continue with more rapid fire questions.
