"While I would enjoy an explosive entrance, and it's entirely in my character to do so, I think I'll just have Nitro melt the door or something." The boy also felt that wasting one of Kilik's most powerful Pokemon on something as easy as opening a door would be pretty novice of them. He reached for his Charizard's Pokeball when all of the sudden he heard a loud crashing noise. "What the-" Mike shouted, his heart jumping a bit as he looked for the source of the disturbance.
It was Prickles, he had slammed his body against the thick metal door, causing a noticeable dent in the once smooth door. The Cacnea grunted at the impact and readied himself for another strike. He lunged forward and collided with another thunderous noise. The door cracked slightly, and a few fragments of the door sprayed out from the attack.
"Woah woah Prickles my man, slow up!" The Magma boy said with concern. "I can just as easily get my Pokemon to bash this door down, you don't need to do it!" He noticed that with just those two hits, the Cacnea had taken serious damage. "No use over exerting yourself!"
He wasn't going to give up. He had cowered in the corner the entire operation, but no more! This was when he would cast his old self aside. This was where he'd change for the better, for Sasha, and himself. She was counting on him, and he was not going to let her down again. With a loud shriek, a brilliant light enveloped the cactus Pokemon. The bright glow reflected off the door, causing Mike to shield his eyes. A deafening sound could be heard, it seemed as if the very floor was rumbling. Mike finally opened his eyes and to his surprise, the heavy doors were flung open, torn off the hinges by vines that had ripped through the very floor. Prickles stood tall, gasping for air, as a fully evolved Cacturne.

"Ah, so it's Megu," Keegan laughed, watching the little Slugma's antics. Even he couldn't help but feel a little elated that the Pokemon remembered him, but he knew that now was the time to battle. He too felt a little drowsy after Megu had yawned, and he knew that very soon, Loki would be succumbing to sleep, unless he decided to recall him. I bet she's banking on me to pull him back so she can see what else I plan to send out, he thought, frowning. It was far too early to reveal his other cards just yet, so he decided to take a little gamble, wagering that he could slow down the Slugma long enough for Loki to wake back up again.
"Loki!" Keegan called, keeping his voice sharp and clear so that the Arbok would not mishear him, "use Glare! Let's show these two that we're not gonna hold back!"
Wavering a bit on the spot (or maybe it was just because Loki was a snake, and shakes wavered when they moved) Loki blinked, trying to keep himself focused. He then rose up, tongue flickering as he shot a deadly glare towards the smaller Slugma, intent on leaving a mark before he was shipped off to dreamland.

Kilik also held his hand up to shield his eyes from the light of evolution. When the Cacturne emerged, a smile spread across his face. "Hah!" he laughed, "Sasha's gonna be plenty surprised. Not only are we here to save her, but her Cacnea evolved. This has turned out to be a very good day," the boy preened then pulled his PokeDex out of his side bag, holding it up to take information on the personified cactus.
"Seems he can learn..." his eyebrows raised and he let out a low whistle, "A plethora of frightening attacks." The boy turned his attention to the fallen door and then back to Cacturne, putting the PokeDex away, "Once she levels it up, I'd be scared to fight him, that's for sure." Kilik slipped his hands into his pockets, attaching Weezing's ball back to his belt and took a step into the room the door was so preciously guarding.
Inside was a woman with bushy red hair topped with a blue bandana and a tied up pink haired girl. Kilik assumed that the girl with the pink hair was Sasha: why would the kidnapper tie themselves up? He crossed his arms. "Peh...I've seen tougher ladies in 'Pokemon Journal'." He smirked, looking at the Aqua Admin.

"Magu is all grown up now," Flannery shouted back, hands resting on her hips. "But you won't see him in battle today; he's way too tough for the likes of you!" She was smirking at him, but it was true: Magu was one of her out-of-gym Pokemon; too tough for usual challengers.
Little Megu was unable to react quick enough to do anything about Loki's sudden frightful presence, and the small Slugma huddled on the spot, paralyzed with fear. "Don't let him scare you, Megu! C'mon, hang in there! Harden! Protect yourself!" Flannery called out, hoping to help her Pokemon's confidence. Megu had always played second fiddle to Magu, until the latter of the two had evolved. Since then, Flannery had spent more time training with her remaining Slugma, hoping that perhaps someday it too would evolve into a powerful Magcargo. Megu relaxed a little, slowing the flow of its molten body and allowing some of the red-hot magma cool a little in order to serve as a sort of protective armor. Despite its lingering fear of the Arbok, it felt a little better about itself now.
"I think I remember Magu too..." Kasiya murmured, but wasn't completely sure. She knew Flannery owned plenty of tough Fire-type Pokemon, and it was a little hard to keep track. She glanced towards Keegan, liking the confident smile he wore. It made her feel confident too, and suddenly she no longer felt nervous about her own chance to battle with Flannery.
Levi continued to watch the battle unfold, keeping quiet and respectful. Even though she was a young Pokemon, she respected the fact that this was an important battle, and she didn't want to do anything to disrupt it.

Keegan scoffed, but chose to ignore Flannery's statement about Magu. She was probably right, as she did own some pretty powerful Pokemon, but he didn't like being talked to like that. She's trying to throw me off-guard again, he thought, clenching a fist. He wouldn't let her get through to him that easily though.
"All right Loki, you need to listen carefully again!" he shouted, keeping his voice loud and clear. "Acid attack! Try to melt away that armor it's created!" Keegan clapped his hands a few times in order to help the Pokemon understand the command.
Loki could barely keep his eyes open now, but he did hear the order, and he would do his best to comply. Opening his mouth, he hissed sharply before letting out a thick spray of acidic liquid, aiming for the Slugma. The last drop of acid had barely dripped from Loki's mouth before the Arbok toppled forward. A large bubble began to grow and then shrink from his left nostril as he breathed in and out, sound asleep.

The two had meandered back to the hospital, where they had something of dinner together.
"I didn't think our first family dinner (in a while)'s spread would be some hospital sheetsl!" M.A.'s father had laughed. He'd eaten a sandwich too, full of heart-clogging mayonnaise, much to the disapproval of Ms. Mean Nurse. But perhaps the woman had a conscience and didn't interfere since she'd already kicked out the kids earlier.
"Well, it seems they won't discharge me tonight since I just woke up today. Just trying to suck up another night's worth of money," Dr. Rustings said, muttering the last bit to himself. "Where will you kids go?"
"Oh, don't worry. M.A. here has plenty of experience as a rogue trainer, you know. She'll take care of me," Michael winked, putting an arm around his sister. The girl grinned. Goodness, what would she ever do without thisolder brother of hers? He was irreplaceable to her. As was the rest of her family, of course.
"What about you, mum?" the younger child asked, arching a brow. "Are you staying here with Dad, or...?"
"No, not tonight. I'm going to get a ride back home on Tropius," the woman said, reaching out a slender hand to accept the ball Michael gave her. "Hopefully she's not too tired... It's not too far from Fallorbor, so she should be able to make it. I'll be back late tomorrow, since I'm returning her to her owner and getting back here some other way." She noticed the immediate concern on her children's faces and laughed. "Don't worry, I'll have a map... and my phone too."
"Don't forget... er, the stuff for the beach event, okay?" Mr. Rustings said as his wife rose to leave.
"Of course not!" she huffed, indignant that her husband might even suggest that she could be that absent-minded (though she was). "Take care, I'll see you all tomorrow or so!" With that, she was gone. But not for too long, since she had to rush back in and grab Tropius' PokeBall, which she had forgotten on the counter.

Michael and M.A. had left shortly thereafter upon their father's reassurance that he'd be quite fine by himself - 'I'll be able to handle this hospital monster just fine, just go,' he had said, feinting a heroic face of sacrifice. It was dark by the time they left; the moon was up, and its silver glow fought with the street-lights' more orange hue for domination of the illumination of the city. "Is Dad doing something for the beach party?" M.A. asked as they walked towards presumably the PokeCenter or some hotel or some friends' house.
"I don't even know," her brother answered, scratching his head. "But he's been doing some research about something big lately, so maybe he's meeting up with some other scientists or whatever."
The buildings and sidewalk suddenly thinned and stopped entirely, marking the outside of the city. "Hey, Michael, I thought we were heading to somewhere to stay." He continued walking for a little while, distancing them from the city lights.
"A PokeCenter would be boring, wouldn't it? Wouldn't you rather camp out under the stars?" he grinned, winking at his little sister. "It's a warm night. If you don't like the idea, we can head back; the PokeCenter isn't that far away."
"No, no, this is perfectly fine," she smiled, grinning dumbly at the night sky. It was gorgeous here, where the city lights didn't snuff out the stars. She fell to her back in the soft grass, entranced. Remembering her Pokemon, she released them too so that they might enjoy the scenery.
He seated himself next to her, looking at his sibling's face in silence, though she was unaware of it. "You're growing up, little sis," he said, when she finally met his look. "I remember when you used to wet your pants every time you saw Jin."
"Not everytime," she corrected defensively.
He smirked. "Sure. But really, for a little monster like you, you sure are becoming a pretty little lady." In reply, M.A. blushed, though the warmth in her face was cooled away by the night. It was rare to get compliments from her brother. "Watch out for bad guys out there, ok? Trouble follows you like a magnet, and I'm surprised you haven't gotten yourself in some crisis or another, but be careful out there for me? It's a big world and s**t happens, pardon my French."
"I'll be fine! I've got Daemyn and the others to help me out," she said, gesturing confidently to her Pokemon.
"Mind showing me their strength, then, so I could rest in peace a little?"

After another moment of Raz dragging the poor Bellsprout around the Wrap attack finally ended and the Yanma was set free. Doing a few flips in the air to celebrate his freedom Raz failed to notice a sudden Vine Whip attack until it struck him in the face. Letting out a surprised cry the bug pokemon did a few dramatic flips in the air before zooming forward into a Quick Attack. Unfortunately the little Bellsprout was pretty flexible and just twisted to the side avoiding Razs' attack. This didn't seem to make the poor dragonfly pokemon very happy as Raz leveled a glare at the Bellsprout before zipping back in for another Quick Attack. This time the attack was successful, probably because he was attacking from behind.
The Bellsprout gave out a cry as it fell to the ground finally defeated. "No! Sprouty!" The Youngster cried as he recalled his pokemon. Glaring at Robin from where she was celebrating hugging the cheerful Yanma. "Fine! You beat my Bellsprout. My regular pokemon would have kicked your butt though!" That said he ran off towards Saffron City, presumably to get his pokemon healed up.
So happy with her victory and hugging Razputin she failed to hear the small click of Ampersands camera phone as he took a picture of the two of them. "We did it Raz! You were so cool out there flying around all fast like that. You were like the Flash!" On her shoulder Luffy was cheering to. He had enjoyed the battle as much as his trainer did. It was very good to have such a strong new member of their nakama.
"Great job you two. You become a stronger trainer every time I see you battle." Ampersand commented as he fiddled around on his phone some sending the image to Robins own phone and another image to someone else before putting it back in his pocket. Now that he was close enough the Yanma in Robins arms had fallen asleep once more.
Grinning up at Ampersand Robin was about to thank him for his comment before the pokenav in her pocket vibrated as it received the picture. "Huh, oh whats this." She muttered to herself as she pulled her phone out. Flipping it open she saw that she had a text with a picture attachment. Surprised by this she opened it only to see a picture of herself with her two pokemon from a moment ago. Unable to help it a big smile appeared on her face. For the first time it seemed like she was really a trainer going on some grand adventure. Unable to help it she sniffled a little bit and fought back tears. "Thanks Ampersand. I really like the picture."
Tipping his hat forward Ampersand grinned at her. "I thought you might. Now lets get going, we still have a lot of ground to cover. Especially if you still want to make it to that party of yours."
Nodding happily Robin quickly recalled the sleeping Razputin and shifting her bag slightly she started to walk forward before she remembered something. She still had yet to tell Kilik about how she did in the bug catching contest. Flipping open her phone again she wrote a quick message and attacked the picture before sending it. That all done she and Ampersand covered the rest of the ground over to Cerulean City.
Hello Kilik! Thank you for flying me to the contest. I got in third place by capturing little Razputin here. I hope you and your mini Thor are doing all right. -Robin.

Flannery smiled as the Arbok fell asleep. Perfect, now all we need to do is attack it with our best shots and weaken it before it can wake up again! she thought, looking to Megu. "Okay Megu, now is the time for action!" she shouted. "Use your Flamethrower, now!"
But the attack didn't come, as Megu was rooted to the spot, still utterly terrified of the Arbok even as he slept. "Megu!" Flannery whined, her arms flailing a bit as she tried to coax the timid Slugma into attacking. "Please?" He still wouldn't budge though, and Flannery sighed. At the very least, it seemed Keegan knew what he was doing out there.
The sight of the snoring Arbok made Kasiya shiver, as she recalled how badly Seto had been hurt by Nina's Slowking after the Psychic-type had put her beloved Persian to sleep. I don't like Psychics, she thought, frowning. They fight almost... unfairly.
Meanwhile Levi was watching the battle curiously, taking in the tactics that each trainer was using. It seemed the little Fire-type was still too scare to move, and she scoffed. She wasn't afraid of the big, purple, snake thing. At least, not from over here she wasn't.

"Let Daemyn spar with Jin a little, hmm? I just want to see where he's at now, and if he really is capable of protecting you out there."
M.A. rolled her eyes, blowing out a puff of air. Jeez, he sure was going into over-protective brother mode. But he was serious about this, she could tell, so she nodded Daemyn on out from his resting spot. "Let's show 'im what we got, huh?" In all actuality, she was a bit nervous about battling her brother -- even if she knew he would be going easy -- since he'd always been something of an idol to her.
The Houndour glared at Michael. Of course he could protect his girl! What was this guy spouting?
Michael chuckled. Fiery little brats, the both of them. With well-trained grace, he spun his Pokeball into the air, releasing an only too familiar Masquerain. The insect screeched as it fluttered in the air, turning questioningly to its trainer. "We're just measuring here, Jin, so go more defense than offense. Oh, but go ahead and use your ability, alright?"
The Bug-type nodded before turning to his opponent. It'd been a long time since he had had any kind of battle whatsoever, so this ought to be a some fun. Hovering in the air with its odd four wings, it glared ferociously upon the two with its fake eyes.
Both of them shivered, M.A. more violently than Daemyn.
"In a bad situation, you two might both be a bit intimidated by your opponent, you know," Michael said, shrugging his shoulders a bit as he put his hands in his back pocket.
"We /know/," M.A. frowned, finding irritation growing in her chest. Jeez, he could stop treating them like they were incapable now. "Alright Daemyn, let's start if off with a Howl!"
The canine pawed at the ground angstily before throwing back its head and giving a long battle-cry. He could vaguely feel a boost of energy - was it mental of physical - stir through his body.
"Jin, since we're a little rusty, let's go with Ominous Wind," Michael suggested, watching as the Masquerain complied and began to flap its eye-antennae flaps strongly, creating a sparkling, weak air current that spiralled and swirled its way through the battle field. M.A. almost smiled as the breeze caressed her face before it made full-found back to Jin, who seemed to take quite a bit of pleasure from it.
A little messy, Michael thought. We need to get training again if we're stepping out of retirement.

"Alright now, let's get things heated up! Ember," M.A. commanded, pointing towards Jin rather unnecessarily. As if he wouldn't know what his target was.
Unfortunately, Jin dodged the fireball with relative ease. They wouldn't be able to get him with /that/ simple and slow of a move. All of Michael's Pokemon had been specifically trained in the arena of speed and excelled in it, except for his Meganium. The Ominous Wind still swirling in the air raised his stats, too, making it all the more difficult for Daemyn to get at him.
"Too bad, try again. Jin, Scary Face!" If his natural Intimidation was frightening, his next move was far worse. He stretched out his antennae to its max, glaring with his 'eyes' with a wicked snarl. Daemyn stared, as if in the trance one gets when watching a scary movie -- he wanted to look away from the heart-stopping sight, but he couldn't tear his gaze away. Even when the attack ended, the sight of Jin's glowing, malicious eyes remained emblazed in his mind. Sweat broke out on Daemyn's brow.
This time, M.A. wasn't affected too badly. She'd seen that move before, and although it still caused her to freeze in her feet for a moment, she could shrug it off. Michael was playing a psychological battle, she realized. He wanted to see how tough they were. "Shake it off, Daemyn! They're just playing with your head." The Houndour nodded weakly, looking up doubtfully at the Masquerain. He didn't want to go at this guy...
"What, are you afraid?" Michael goaded artfully, watching the Houndour intently. His comment worked, for the fire returned to the pup's eyes. Afraid! Hah! As if.
M.A. couldn't help but smile the teeniest bit. That Michael. "Odor Sleuth, Dae! We'll hit him the next time," she ordered assertively. The pup nodded, taking in a deep whiff of the air. He could detect M.A.'s sweet scent behind him.. Michael's musty one... The trees, the grass, all waving in the night... And Jin's scent, all over the place due to the wind he had created.
Jin rebutted with a restrained Gust attack that whipped Daemyn's body with a single burst of air. The Houndour endured it though, gritting his teeth. "Looks like we got the first hit," Michael mused. But Daemyn wasn't listening. Rather, he continued to hone in on Jin's scent so that even the winds scattering it every which way couldn't detract from Daemyn's pinpointing him. Jin's smell was concentrated in one spot and one spot only -- the body.
"Smog, now! Cloud up the field as much as you can." Daemyn took a deep breath of air before breathing out a somewhat venomous purple smoke that seemed to roll onto the air and disperse from there.
Michael smiled. Now they were thinking some.

"Well, you may have defeated my Lotad, but you won't be so lucky with this next one!" the female trainer shouted, hurling a second Pokeball. The defeat of her first Pokemon seemed to annoy her, as she now looked rather angry. The Pokemon that appeared was slightly larger than Combusken. Its body was sturdy and round, although muscular. Its arms ended in boxing gloves, and at once Jaeshan recognized the Fighting-type: Makuhita. It slammed its fists together and shouted at Combusken to attack. The brazen little Fire-type immediately rose to the challenge, stepping forward and letting out a growl. She wasn't afraid of anything, especially not this pudgy thing.
"I don't rely on luck, I go on skill!" Jaeshan countered, a little surprised at his response. Normally he wouldn't have said anything, but this time he couldn't help but shout back. "All right Combusken, let's show her that skill! Use your Double Kick! Go!" As the Young Fowl Pokemon ran forward, preparing to strike, the Makuhita struck out quickly with its fist, catching the Combusken in the gut - Fake Out. She doubled over, gasping and trying to catch her breath.
"Now Makuhita! Use your Tackle!" the girl cried, cheering as her Pokemon slammed into Combusken and sent her for a tumble. "Looks like you've underestimated me," she said with a smirk.

Keegan immediately winced and shut his eyes when he heard the call for a Flamethrower, but when the sound of his beloved Arbok being roasted didn't come, he opened his eyes and looked around. Megu was paralyzed with fear again, despite the fact that Loki was sound asleep. Keegan cheered silently, thankful for the luck that was momentarily playing on his side.
"I guess Loki is just too terrifying for his own good," Keegan sneered, enjoying the moment. Now, all he had to do was wake up his sleeping Arbok. "LOKI! WAKE UP!" he shouted, at the top of his voice. "I need you to attack with Sludge Bomb, now!"
However, Loki remained asleep, looking like he hadn't heard a word of anything that had just happened. "Dammit!" Keegan shouted, stomping his feet.

"Dang Prickles, nice work." Mike whistled sharply, impressed at the newly evolved Pokemon's power. "I'm sure Sasha will be thrilled to see you again." He flashed a smile at the Cacturne, who looked back at him. His face was much more serious, almost intimidating. It was the hat, really. It obscured the view of his eyes. Prickles nodded, cracking a smile for the first time since the operation began. Mike sighed in relief that the Pokemon had finally given up moping around. "Alright, now let's go get her back!" The boy took off up the stairs, the Cacturne following closely behind.
This was it, the final battle. At the end of these stairs was the objective. After this battle, he and Kilik would rescue the damsel in distress and be heroes once again. Mike looked over at his friend, who had caught up to him fairly easily. Damn your long legs Kilik. Mike, Kilik and Prickles ascended the seemingly infinite staircase, finally reaching the top. The trio spotted Shelly, standing tall with one foot on top of Sasha, who was propped up, still somewhat out of it. Prikcles' eyes widened at the sight of dried blood around his trainer's mouth and began to rush over to her. Mike quickly stopped him. "Not yet." He whispered, silently thanking his scarf for hiding his mouth. He didn't want to take the chance that she could read lips, that would be just his luck. "Wait until we have her distracted to make your move."
"Well now," The slender yet intimidating woman crossed her arms and looked the boys up and down. "Aren't you two just adorable. Well, aside from Tuxedo Mask over there, you're probably pretty plain."
"Plain?" Mike felt that remark jab into his self esteem. Even if she was intentionally trying to get under his skin, it still felt bad. "You know lady, someone ought to teach you some manners." He quickly removed his scarf and lowered his hood. "See? I'm a prize." With due maturity, Mike then stuck his tongue out at the Aqua admin.
Shelly smirked, unimpressed. "Still plain. And thank you for revealing your identity to me boy. I just needed a face to report to the boss after I take you down."
Mike frowned spectacularly. He'd been duped. "You know, I wish I wasn't so easy to bait." He mumbled, glaring at Shelly, who was making a gesture of reeling in a fish. "Well, whatever!" The boy waved his hand frantically, visibly frustrated. "It doesn't matter if you know my face, or even my social security number, you're not beating me. I want my friend back!" She was so close. He could practically reach out and grab her.
"Oh, you mean this little brat?" Shelly took the heel of her shoe and began grinding it into Sasha's back, causing the girl to let out a muffled scream through the bandanna in her mouth. "She's yours. Assuming you can take her from me." The Aqua admin stepped away from the captive girl, throwing out two Poke balls. A Crawduant and a Walrien were sent out, each looking rather intimidating.
"You're on." Mike looked over at his friend with a smile. "We're more than able to beat this hag right?" He hated to admit it, but without Kilik, he would have never gotten this far. "Let's go buddy." The Magma boy sent out his Ampharos, ready to win this final battle.
One the sidelines, Sasha had regained her senses, and slowly looked up at the sound of familiar voices. Holy crap, that's Mike! How did he know she was here? Does he have a girl radar or something? Sasha could feel herheart flutter and her face heat up as she saw him gallantly rushing in to rescue her. He's so...cool. After the wave of initial 'relief' washed over from her rescuer, another thing caught her eye. A Cacturne. What a copy cat. How dare Mike steal my thunder by raising a Cacturne like m-wait a minute. The girl gasped. Could that be Prickles? Oh my god he evolved! She could hardly believe it. When did this happen? How? She couldn't wait to be untied and ask Mike the million questions that she had floating around in her head.
She then noticed Kilik, someone who she'd sworn she had seen before. Wasn't that the kid from the news? The one that...like, shot the Silph Co. president? She studied him for a while, her brain nearly turning to mush after just a few moments. Her head still hurt from the kick that b***h gave her. There's no way that could be the same kid. Mike's as snow white as they come, he just can't be the same kid from Team Rocket. He's too cute The pink haired girl struggled to sit up, shaking her head in hopes to get her messy hair from out of her eyes. Ugh, I must look like a mess.
