Forde had stayed silent through most of the conversing singing a song in french in his head. Thoughts on the situation? You would have gotten a song about the different ways to conjugate verbs. "Not quite yet, kiddo." Forde told Haldis. "Chickens ready to be cooked though." He turned to them and smiled, and then walked to his coat. "Got any baking soda?" He asked as he picked up a box, put on his jacket, and then started to walk away from the kitchen. "Got something I need to take care of." And with that, Forde ran from the kitchen, and through the bar. "Pen!" He yelled as he hit the halls, looking for her.

Pen wasn't anywhere visible in the hallways by that time, but bits of her hand and arm, along with a nice puddle of blood was further down in a more quiet area.

((If you've posted somewhere after this, just tell me and I'll fix this.)) Jarred heard Forde, jogging up in front of him, stopping. "Lookin for Pen? Hm, you were that guy in the kitchen. Whatcha need with her?" Jarred folded his arms, his right hand tucked innocently under his vest, gripping his gun.

(( twisted And just think, someday we're going to get you to Omaha and I'll make you play that for real. Not as bad as you think, though. Unlike chess, you can move every single piece once per turn. 6-way gets pretty fun, different strategies are useful when you have a different number of players.))
Cookie cackled at Forde's exit. After he left, she said idly, "Baking soda on your left, I don't know how to cook your chicken, and you forgot the rice... But the song was cute. Such a shame you weren't doing that before and after it all...
"Yeah, Hally, the cookies are done. They smell done at any rate, and I know better than to leave them in there once you smell 'em." She winked. "The game too daunting, eh? And here I thought a clever child like yourself would find it too easy," she teased.

((O-o my chess pieces had tea-parties and balls...and the queen would go out riding with the horsey. I have no sense of this thing called strategy.))
Haldis looked at the game and shook her head. "I like to take my time with things, and cookies always come first." She followed after Cookie, her little nose twitching in the air from the yummy smell.

Forde stopped and looked Jarred in the eyes. "Oh, you were talking to her in there, right?" Forde rested a hand on the back of his neck, his hand tightening on the dagger strapped to his shoulder. "Just need to talk to her."

(( rolleyes Again, anyone else think that explains a lot? Lol to it.))
"Uh-huh. I admire the cop-out, though. Cookies are pretty awesome. As I should know," Cookie added smugly.
Pulling the first tray out of the oven, she held it low so the girl could savor the smell with her before setting it on top of the oven and sticking the next tray in.
"Now, I'll stick yours on a plate for you, but be careful and wait a minute, okay? They're a bit hot still, I don't want you to burn yourself," she said kindly. "I forgot to ask if you're allergic to anything, but I guess you're probably not." Her eyes crinkled, and she started pulling out plates, one of them hard plastic that looked like it had been melted on one side.

Forde laughed and nodded. "Yeah, figured you didn't want one. But what you can do for me, is let me know why the hell it matters what I need to say to her."

"Well, ultimately it has to do with the fact that most people here shouldn't know who she is. It's just the few trusted high-ranking members of the Kore who know she's on this ship, which leads me to believe you overheard a call she had with our boss, and thus must be killed."

"Have you thought that maybe there were also people under her who happen to know she's on the ship?"

"Crossed my mind, but not so much that I'm going to assume we're on the same team. Show me some Ident." Jarred was, despite low ranks, rolling natural 20's on all of his Bluff checks. ((Nerd. Whatever. Been reading OOTS))

(I'm actually in the process of writing up a DnD campaign as we speak blaugh )
"Alright fine." Forde mumbled as he reached into his jacket pocket. He pulled out a small sphere, and clicked a button on the top. "See this?" He said as he moved it towards Jarred's face. "This little buddy of mine will blow 3 seconds after my thumb is removed from this button. And since it's a little creation of mine, I'm the only one who knows how to turn it off." Forde laughed a moment, then his face became serious again. "Get out of my way or show me where Pendari is."

At about the same time Forde's little toy was activated Syx tried to send a call through to Jarred's PDA.
