Amuriel lifted herself from the ground and started out after him, nodding, "Alright love. Don't worry. I'll tell you if I feel tired or sick."
She looked toward the sky - it was a beautiful day out - and hoped their time together wouldn't be further interrupted by the unwelcome morning sickness. It had already taken some of her morning and occupied most of her mind, but she refused to let it further consume her. She wanted to be able to enjoy what time they had left in the bliss of lovers and mates instead of parents - that and she wanted to enjoy the time she had with Maelthra before she told him of her condition.
"Lead the way, love," she said, stopping and nuzzling against his neck gently as she stood next to him.

"Yeah, we have all day so we can take all the time we want with walking around. It's really a beautiful day too..."
Smiling at her, he gently nuzzled her in return before beginning to walk away from the cave, trying to think of where they could go in general right now. As he felt the sun's warm rays beam down onto him, he stretched his wings out momentarily while moving along.
After a decent amount of distance from the entrance, he just glanced back slightly to make sure he wasn't going too far ahead of his mate.

Managing to catch up with him rather quickly, Amuriel tried to hang next to Maelthra's side, admiring his wings as she stretched them then allowing her eyes to grace the curves of his form. He was very fair, in a definite masculine sense, and she let her eyes rest on his own, admiring now, mentally, the compassion and care of her lover. Such a kind being...
Smiling, she rested oh-so-lightly against him as she walked, pressing her cheek against his neck lovingly and feeling almost aglow with the feelings of love and passion she felt for him.
The day couldn't be more bright or beautiful, she thought, to match my mood today.

Maelthra couldn't help but smile more widely as his gaze met with hers. Those beautifully deep blue eyes never ceased to captivate him, as did with the rest of her. As he felt her lean slightly against him, he lowered his head and licked her face softly with a gentle nuzzle while they moved through the forest. Everything about her, and this day in general, couldn't be any better.
And to think that months ago... I would have never imagined to find anyone to love...
He closed his eyes momentarily and let out a very content sigh, feeling that there could be nothing that could possibly go wrong with this day.

Amuriel smiled, enjoying the quiet and peaceful walk with her mate and the beautiful day around them. Ahead of them, she noticed a clearing just off the side of their main path. She wondered if they would stop, or if they should, given her condition and how far they had walked already - not very, but still a greater distance for someone who could be pregnant.
She nuzzled her face deeper against Maelthra's neck, enjoying the soft touch of his fur to her own and his musky wood-and-fire tinged scent. She decided she would let him decide if they should take a rest or not. Her sickness had not returned, and after all, she may not be pregnant.

With the great deal of peace and love in the air, it wasn't too hard to lose some sense of time, so when Maelthra noticed the clearing up ahead, he wondered if they had traveled farther than he had expected. Though with a quick glance around the area he saw that they hadn't gone too far away. Still, he figured it may be a good idea to take a quick break so as to not push his lover too much.
"Hm... lets rest a bit at that clearing ahead, ok love? I'm not really sure when the next one will be and it'd be better to relax when we have some more room..."

"Alright love," Amuriel replied, smiling and standing straighter as she pulled away from him to head into the clearing. It wasn't a very big area, but it was enough for the purpose. Considering their own relationship, it wouldn't be uncomfortable at all for them to be relatively close.
Choosing a spot away from the entrance to the clearing, she lowered herself to the ground and sighed. Her body was more tired than she had expected, but she suspected Maelthra's loving presence during the walk had lifted both her spirits and washed away her loss of energy. As her stomach touched the leafy and mossy floor, she felt the familiar twinge of nausea.

While Amuriel went to settle down, Maelthra waited for her to lay onto the ground before moving to join her. With a gentle and loving smile, he lowered himself before flopping down lightly besides her. It was there that he scooted closer to her so that he could nestle against her soft white body.
"How are you feeling now by the way my love? You're not too tired or anything are you?" he asked with a slight tilt of his head. If she had needed anything at all, he was more than willing to go fetch it for her. Anything they needed shouldn't be too far away, so he was somewhat alright with leaving her alone for a brief moment or so.

"I'm alright," Amuriel said, sliding back against him and raising her head to lean it against his body. She faltered slightly in her speech, not wanting to worry him but not wanting to lie either. "Just a little tired and a little twinge, but it's nothing to worry about."
She smiled and licked at his chin, curling her tail around her body and flicking her ears. He seemed so worried about her. So caring. So compassionate. What about him?
"How are you feeling love?" she asked, tilting her head at him now.

Nodding at her words, Maelthra gazed at her with concern. He licked the side of her face compassionately before gently resting his head against hers. Even with what she had said, he couldn't stop feeling at least a little worried for her well-being.
"I'm feeling great... but I'm just worried about you.. That stomach has been bothering you for some time now..."
His head was tilted slightly while he spoke, as he was once again trying to think of what it might be that was causing her the pain in her belly.
"Do you need anything...?"

"Just on and off through the day," Amuriel replied, hoping he wasn't or wouldn't worry himself too much over her sickness. "I'm alright for now. I don't think I need anything... probably a drink whenever we're on our way back, but for now, I'm fine."
She smiled at him and lowered her head to rest her chin against his arm, hoping her stomach would stop twinging soon or that it would not increase.

"Alright love..."
Watching her carefully, Maelthra tried to pick out any signs that she wasn't feeling as good as she had said, but he couldn't tell. And it made him wonder if he was just worrying too much over this right now. He didn't want anything bad to happen to her but he supposed that he could relax a little more until more signs showed up.
Smiling softly, he rested his head over her neck, nuzzling into her fur while doing so.
"I just hope you feel better completely soon..."

"Thank you love..." Amuriel smiled and kissed his shin, flicking her tail lightly with contentment. Despite the faint pain in her stomach, this feeling of being here, with her mate, in this place, secluded, alone, with a bright blue sky above them, left her feeling very at ease, peaceful, and loving. She loved him so much, and she closed her eyes happily, enjoying his company. Her body being more exhausted from the earlier pain and the walk than she had realized, she accidentally drifted off into a deep slumber.

Maelthra relaxed within the serene atmosphere, gazing about lazily as they rested. After a short while he glanced down at her, to see that Amuriel had fallen asleep. With a soft smile creeping upon his lips, he just nuzzled her tenderly, careful to not awaken her.
He didn't mind her taking a nap at all, so he just watched her sleep, guarding over her while nestling against her.
"I love you..." he whispered before closing his eyes as well. His ears remained alert, but for the most part, he just laid there against his mate in love in mind.

As she slept, Amuriel dreamt of Maelthra. She dreamed of the true memories she had of him - of meeting him first on the lake's edge, of her first flight with him, of her first true time together with him as mates... She dreamed of everything he meant to her in an explosion of bright light and vivid color, a rainbow of love, passion, and devotion swirling through her mind. Finally, she dreamed of them as something new and different: parents. She dreamt of blurry-faced younglings scattered and playing throughout their home and the surrounding area, of Maelthra being a caring father, of herself being a loving mother... she dreamt of them in the human world, both human and elfin-dragonfly children alike with muddy hands and playful faces, of her old friendships with humans renewed, of human and elfin families joined for seasonal meals and celebration, of unity and equality without the torture she had felt once before. Unity... her own family... Maelthra... Maelthra holding a child, Maelthra hunting, Maelthra in the pool next to their home, Maelthra on their bed, Maelthra kissing her, Maelthra, Maelthra, Maelthra...
"Love..." she sighed in her sleep, her lips curling ever so slightly into a vague smile. As her dreams ceased, she began to stir awake, leaning her cheek against her mate's chest and finally realizing, truly for the first time, it wouldn't be so bad to start a family with this man she loved.
