"Maybe...but two-leggers have always seen us as an object. There's a lot more to it than what my people allow free."
Her transluscent tail licked at the lake's surface, gathering water in rivulets down the penstroked veins traversing down the fin. Curling it firmly, she sent a thin spray into the air, speckling her upper tail and shoulders with water. She found it not as favorable as salt water, which to her, felt so much fuller; it carried her easily, it never felt as though it were disappearing with every passing.
Her brow furrowed, feisty biting coming back, "I am not a fish, clam-ears! And what do you mean act like me? I was not aware I acted any certain way!" Her wild, grey-green eyes flashed with irritation, the timbre of her voice rising indignantly.

Lena smiled and nodded "it is very pretty..." she said as she gazed up at the tree.

Either unaware of her irritation or simply trying to drive her to further anger the wolf turned on his back, his tail easily slipping from behind him to lay on the ground at his side so it wouldn't be crushed under his weight. A lopsided smile spread over his lupin features and he continued to play his finger in the water, amused by her own actions with her tail. He almost wished that he could do something similar with his own, but that would mean giving up the ability to walk wouldn't it?
"Well you're doing it again. I guess it must be a girl thing thought. How can you not think you're a fish, you have a tail, you live in the water and you likely couldn't survive on land now could you?" Yi Xian smirked and tapped his thick soled boot on the ground, wondering when it might be that he would go too far.

Whether he was baiting her or not, she took it: hook, line, and sinker, like the dumbest fish in the sea. And every time he tugged the line, she fought harder to gain the upper hand. Silly, silly girl...
"Doing what?" she snapped, lifting her head to glare down at him. She felt like clawing that smug look off of his face, but opted with digging her fingers into the wet sand. Her fin smacked the water hard, sending up a large splash, and pulling it back up sharply, she attempted to throw water onto Yi Xian's prone figure.
"I am not a fish! I am much smarter and certainly better looking!" She huffed and turned her head arrogantly, hair swinging heavily with the weight of the water holding down the ends. At the mention of survival on land, she grinded her teeth in blatant anger; she had never wanted to live on land. Definitely not! She would look so hideous without her beautiful fin! Even so...
"I...I could too survive on land! I am right now, aren't I?"
Not that she was really on land...

Yi Xian coughed as the water was thrown on him but he wasn't terribly bothered by it. He'd gotten used to walking in the rain and rather liked it. She, however, might not care for the smell of wet fur. With a sigh he sat up and turned around, taking off his coat and setting it to the side to let it dry out in the sunlight. He reached out to attempt to scoop her up and bring her out of the lake, not thinking that he could very well get dragged under in the process.
"You're acting like a -girl-. All huffy and stuff. And you aren't on land, you're still in the water and flitting about there."
The wolf grinned and grabbed for her playfully, tail starting to wag once more.

Her eyes became as wide as saucers as he attempted to scoop her from the safety of the water. He wouldn't dare! Innocent fear sparked through her eyes as she looked for a way to escape, but his attempts proved fruitful due to the fact there was no leeway back into the lake while in the shallows. She was about as helpless as a fish caught on shore, feeling the pull of waves rippling over it, but not enough to drag it back into the comfort of the sea.
"Let go of me, you monster! I was perfectly fine where I was!" she shrieked, her fin flapping uselessly in the open air as she bucked her entire body, hoping to toss him off balance. She proceeded to throw a horrid fit, her tantrum causing her to scream and yell obscenities that no girl, with or without fin, should be saying. For shame, Odette!

With a laugh he hefted her out despite her squirming and began to lift her over his head. She actually didn't weigh too much to him but when you carted around a massive axe single handedly you didn't find much too heavy. She was a bit slippery however and had to continously move his hands to finally find a good grip on her hips. Tiny little thing this one...
"Good lord you've been around too many sailors haven't you little 'lady'." Yi Xian smirked and put her on his furry shoulder, but underestimated her weight and toppled them both into the waters.
Shallow though it was it wasn't pleasant to be immersed in. The wolf spat out the water that got in his mouth and tried to shake his fur out.

"Letgoletgoletgo!" Was her only semi-coherant scream as she began beating her fists against his back. How dare he! She had never been touched by a human, let alone grabbed by one! Oh, the nerve of this one! Stupid big-eared, bushy tailed human-thing!
The first thing she did when he fell (other than scream) was try to twist back into the water. A sudden vengeful streak flitted through her body, and she decided to nurture it. And so, she gave a feral hiss and reached down, sating whatever unhealthy fascination she had once had for his tail as she grabbed onto it.
And tugged. Hard.
"Stupid!"

Yi Xian yelped at the painful tugging and wirled slightly, his appendage still in her grasp. He howled and grabbed his tail further down in order to rip it back, gritting his teeth in a snarl at her painful tug of war. His fur was becoming slick from the wetness and goosepimples spread on his hide from the coolness of the water.
"You're going down you algea eating bottom feeder!" Yi Xian growled and reached his free hand out to ensnare her beautiful locks.

It was hard to keep her grip on something when it was wet and furry - the reason she had stopped trying to catch otters or seels. She wasn't about to let him go unscathed from the stunt he had pulled! Oh no! For all he knew, she could be traumatized by the experience. So her slender fingers wrapped around the tail and coiled about the furr, holding on for dear life.
Well, that is, until her hair was grabbed.
She cried out, a frustrated and pained noise, head unconsciously yanking back. Her wings snapped outward, flapping uselessly against the air.
"Let go! Let me GO, you ugly, two-legged, furball!" she screeched, and figuring she couldn't lose much of anything else, wriggled forward and bit him in the side.

A yelp left the wolf and he let go of his tail and her hair to push her away, the water splashing up in large arcs around them as they flailed and wrestled in an attempt at dominance. He couldn't loose to her, she was a girl! A sea dragon girl but still...
"You little brat! You BIT me! I better not get some sort of freaky fish rabies from you!"
Continueing his grumbling tirade the wolf let himself fall backwards in the water, wanting to use the momentum to send her head over heels over him and further out to see slightly.

"And you taste awful!"
Had they not been in such shallow water, she would have won! She would have, and she found it frustrating that she couldn't gain the upper hand. Odette refused to believe it was because he was strong, and not because of the lack of water. She was much too bull-headed to!
Again her eyes widened, anticipating the throw as he fell back. She was flung bodily into the air, but her panic died as she twisted within the air, using the toss to her advantage. She slipped into the water with little more than a splash, hovering beneath the surface.
Cheater. He was a cheater!
When she resurfaced, long bangs plastered to her face, she made a point to glare heatedly at him. Strands of her hair were caught against her clawed wings, a fine net of rose.
"You...cheated. That was cheating!" was all she could think to say, still surprised by his actions. She made it sound like one big game, too...

Yi Xian brought his hands together and sloshed water at the dragon girl. Oh if only he could find a guy with such a hot temper his life would be complete.
"You shouldn't go around biting people you crazy siren wannabe!" The wolf growled and moved to park his butt on the shore.
From his spot he worked his boots off and put them beside his still drying coat. Freed of the water logged constricting footwear he started to wade out to her, setting his hands high on his hips, a small smile flitting across his features. A game it might very well be to him, wolves loved to tussle after all and he was no exception. At least his axe had been left on land.
"It's not cheating Odette it's fighting, haven't you ever wrestled before?"

Odette huffed and crossed her arms beneath her chest, turning her face away from him sharply.
"I'll have you know, mermaids are much better than sirens!" she replied, insulted. And both are better than two-leggers, she thought, lips pursing into a firm line. Hearing the water shift softly, one eyes fluttered open to spy on him - and to her horror yet again, she saw him approach. Her dark fin twitched, slowly arching forward before pushing back, and ultimately sending her opposite Yi Xian's oncoming direction.
"You're not even worthy of saying my name, so don't!" she harumphed, arms tightening slightly.
"And no, I have not. What I did was absolutely barbaric - just like you." She refused to admit it had been fun.

The wolf arched his back slightly and rubbed at his lower spine ashe continued in deeper into the water so up to his knees were wetted. There was a twinkling in his yellow eyes as he stalked towards her, bringing his hands out and twitching his fingers slightly in an attempt at intimidation.
"A barbarian am I? Perhaps I should act like a barbarian..." He growled softly, a breath escaping him as he darted forward. "And EAT YOU!"
He was only joking of course and idily he hoped that she didn't know any spells to knock him out of the water or some such thing.
