I've begun to think that every Gaia item was inspired by a different drug (legal or non) of some sort. Alruna's Rose: Viagra Fremere's Guard: Steroids Biancamella: Ecstasy The list goes on

Okay, that's just slightly ridiculous. I have no explanation for the guard or the biancamelle; but even someone with minimal knowledge can tell the Alruna's Rose was based on myths/legends about Succubi and Incubi.
You know, the old tales about demons that snuck into houses or seduced people (sometimes in their dreams) and then had sex with them, either stealing the humans life force, or impregnating them (in the case of females for the second part.).
It was also believed in some stories that a succubus actually creates an incubus when she 'retires' out of a desirable male, so that they can be her eternal and insatiable sex partner.

Things like those are always interesting to read about, but they seem like the kind of belief systems that you really have to be around since you were young.

I suppose; either that or you have to be truly devoted to it. Honestly I as of the current time have no specific religion...most of them say I'm going to hell for just being born anyway. Least if you go faithfully by the "Holy books'.
I'm the b*****d son of my father, and I wasn't baptized under any religion. Not to mention the only times I've stepped foot into a church in my life has been for weddings or funerals.
In short, I hope those books aren't accurate, or God's got a policy about "the good out weighing the bad" or I'm totally and completely, absolutely, without a doubt, 100% f***ed from the very start. sweatdrop

I know how you feel. I was "raised" with Catholicism but I never bought it, really. I tried to explore other faiths, but they all had the same flaw that you claimed. I don't like being told I'm going to a place that may or may not exist if I don't worship a person with the same possibility of being fake. There was one religion (the New Church, I believe but it's not Scientology) that just said that it didn't matter what you believed, if you were a good person, you were alright. Still religionless, but I'm rooting for that team, because I don't go around clubbing baby seals or anything.
