Black Templars are in limbo. They might get a codex of their own, or they might be folded back into the main Space Marine codex.

Would be a shame if the ladder happens,
they had such a promising start. sad

How does grouping Guardsmen Platoons work? I understand the bit where I can stack together multiple Infantry squads with a Platoon Command squads, but does stacking them together take up the same amount of Troop choices as all of them as separate squads, or just one Troop choice per stacked platoon?

(Better to figure this out before I finish off my main Tau army and start dragging in IG to act as Gue'vesta auxiliaries, right?)

platoon, either as separate units or a blob unit, takes one troop choice anyway

Okay. Thank you.

Are Skyfire units and other flyers the only units that receive bonuses against flyers? No bonuses for jetbikes, fast skimmers, or jump infantry?

No, not unless their codex entry says so. Also, jump infantry cannot assault flyers zooming about. Now, if a flyer were to engage its hover mode, then it would be easier to hit.

Chaos Space Marines are the only army who has access to them as of right now.

I'm chewing my way through the new rulebook, and read through the shooting section. So scatter no longer subtracts the firer's BS from the scatter distance?

Yes, it does. Check the special rules section, page 33, bottom right corner.

Found it, though still scratching my head as to why basic shooting rules are in the Universal Special Rules section...

It's a special rule, yes it should be in the shooting section, but I think they wanted to leave it out as scatter is applied to more than just shooting.

Can Basilisks still direct fire? The FAQ is very ambiguous about the subject, and the codex doesn't specifically state whether they can (though it -does- say that the other artillery types cannot). The blurb also talks about how they're advantageous for being able to fire directly.

Barrage weapons have the option to fire directly. Unless another set of range stats are included though, the Eartshaker has a minimum range of 36", but can fire directly, so you can still substract your BS from the scatter.

It's all on page 34 of the rules.
