Sounds good. ^_^
I've been making costume edits of Gust characters to use as references for my Glass Labyrinth story.

Here are a few that I've finished so far.

The character references can be found here:

Needless to say, Tetsuya was a lot more difficult to do then the others. sweatdrop
It has been surprisingly hard to find characters that are similar enough to use for the different characters, fortunately the Ar tonelico series includes multiple costumes for the heroines, which means more options are available.
I'm still working on finding characters that are similar enough to the two main characters, but it hasn't been easy. burning_eyes
I'll probably look through the Mana Khemia series portraits some time tomorrow.

That's a lot of progress~ heart

Tetsuya actually looks the most difficult to assemble. 8D;
Your work paid off at least~

I hope you can find similar character models soon. =]

I really need to assemble character sheets of my characters soon.. I amassed quite a bit.. but most don't have "official" references for myself to refer to (let alone to allow other people to draw characters other than the few that I've established). 8D;;

I hear you. ^_^
I'm not sure how many times I've had the perfect picture of a character in my mind, and failed drastically in drawing them. sweatdrop
Here's one that I've been working on.

Ok, I didn't find any characters with a suitable appearance for the two leading characters in Mana Khemia, but I did manage to finished one of them using Aurica.

For some reason it took me all day to work on these. burning_eyes
Its probably because shes a main character and I was a little concerned with how she looks.
Please let me know if you think that the color on the dress should be changed.

I can share my sentiments with how you end up feeling very meticulous and concerned on creating a suitable portrait/reference for main characters. xD

I have one character that needs a real connection to the story.. otherwise her characterization pales quite a lot towards her comrades' development. She also happens to be one of the characters I draw very, very often as well. 8D;; I may have to introduce a costume set for her because I can't make up my mind on what her central outfit should be ;; (along with character).

I think Elicia's dress shade should be altered.. slightly. Mm.. Although coral seems to be one of her primary colors.. I think other shades could help compliment her appearance without appearing too bland. 8D;; Thing is that.. I don't know what shade to follow up.

I wrote up a post on a topic in A Reyvateils Melody awhile back covering a few of my tips on character development, the other posts are also very helpful, so I suggest reading some of them too.

How are these?

The dress color isn't extremely important, I was originally looking at a blue dress for her, but I figured that it would clash too much with her hair.

The lighter (er.. the lightest one) coral color is a lot nicer and distinguishable than the original. :'D

The blue version is nice too.. except, like you said, clashes with her hair quite a lot.

K, in that case I'll go with this one. ^_^
User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show.

I'm actually very glad that you suggested that one, because I feel that her character should wear a brighter colored outfit at the start of the story.
Basically, she is a character that fits the absolute definition of innocence and lack of awareness.
As a princess, she was raised in a fairly comfortable environment, having absolutely no idea as to what was taking place in the outside world.
Because of this, she can't comprehend certain things, like why someone would steal or commit a crime, and she can also be a bit too trusting of people from time to time.
Imagine what would happen if a person such as that were to end up in the care of thieves, kidnappers and murderers?
Yep, I know, don't be mistaken, nothing like that what ever happen right? mrgreen
I'm tired of holding the whole concept to just myself, so I'll go ahead and let a few secrets out.

In the first scene, the king had just been murdered by an unknown individual.
The actual murder is not seen.
At the time of the murder, a fire broke out in the armory, and all of the palace guards rushed there to extinguish it.
Needless to say, the arson and the murderer were one in the same.
Travis Nylund (Field Marshal) would arrive at the scene to investigate the matter.
A conversation takes place between Travis Nylund and Stewart Carwell (Brigadier General) on what would be the best actions to take in regards to the princesses safety.
Travis Nylund then informs Princess Elicia Kendrick as to what had taken place.
Several days later, it is decided that the Princess's coronation will take place on 5th day following the kings assassination.
With the palace security at full level, Travis Nylund insisted on escorting the Princess to the coronation ceremony, but is called off on palace business before he could provide the escort.
Suddenly, two individuals appeared in front of the Princess, and knocked the guards to the ground before they could lift their hands.
The two newcomers were a man and women.
The women grabbed hold of the Princess, covering the Princess's mouth, the women instructed her not to make a sound, and started off at such a pace that the Princess hardly knew what was happening.
The man followed along after the two.
By now the palace guards were well alerted of the situation, and Gillis Cadran, a young knight serving in the palace guard, ordered his men to fire at the captors.
While dodging and returning musket fire, the man is shot in the back.
The women tried to turn back, but he insisted that she move on with the Princess.
The women then managed to escape, and so the Princess was abducted.

Ok, so I lied, no secrets, just a brief description of how the story starts. razz
Now, if I can just get myself to start writing it. sweatdrop

When I read it.. it definitely sounded like a exposition for the early (or perhaps prior) events to the story. ^^

I have a lot of secrets for my original story as well. Because it's constantly under development (in terms of piecing the story together.. not the designs unfortunately), some "secrets" become invalid. I tend to tell many parts to my close friends (or at least, friends who shares similar interests) and even while I'm retelling my story development, something gets changed along the way. More than often, it's the better variation because it tends to make more sense along the way than what I compile just by myself. 8D;

I hope I can make it all connect soon~
Many of my characters already have key points (where without them, the story wouldn't be able to progress) but at the same time, many (notably Jikan (goodness.. this reminds me that I barely have her character design down ;u;.. ) and her friend lol) doesn't really have a key point established. n__n;

Jikan actually has some key role.. but that role makes her seem like a replacement for the original ;;. And her friend has the role of deciding the "fate" of.. whatever (climax.. but the events where he is shown to have much importance isn't established). 8D;

Nice artwork. ^_^

Well, one thing to keep in mind is that Glass Labyrinth is setup in such a manner that it makes you think one thing and something completely unexpected happens instead, or at least that's how I'm hoping it will turn out.

Thank you~
But the lack of concept artwork bugs me so I hope to make some soon. 8D;

For me, I'm trying to see that Time_Less flows smoothly without leaving too many gaps open. x__o; However, I also need to address a few twists to see that the story isn't completely linear (it's on that path at the moment just for my sake haha).

I hear you. ^_^
I've been having a lot of difficulty's in getting back to writing.
What generally happens is I start on something that should only take around 5 minutes. . . 10 hours later, I still haven't gotten anything done. burning_eyes

I had to increase the size, so it might look a little blurry.

And here is an update of the Judie - Shurelia costume edit I did awhile back, it now has alternate expressions. ^_^

The alternative expressions are very nice!

Ar tonelico's character portraits inspires me a lot to go and try to do some basic expression templates for my characters.

However, I haven't completed any yet. I'm working on a unrelated character profile at the moment so I may perhaps insert a few expressions (and make them as icons for RP purposes) later on. :'D

Haha.. I can't write for a extremely long period of time so I tend to write a little and continue/resume later. However, I also have a habit of rereading and adjusting the content and pacing so I ultimately don't progress very much even after several chapters.
