Hello everyone! I just got sorted into Ravenclaw and all....so I have to answer the question right...here it goes: Where are your greatest strengths? ummm. I would have to say like writing maybe? creativity? and I accept everyone and stuff like that...well that's it, pretty boring I know! I'm just glad I got sorted in here....other houses don't suit me at all, I'm a bookworm so yeah.. sweatdrop

That's cool. Yeah I basically push myself in school. I am like very welll known for being a nerd in my school, though I don't act like one. I am actually a lot like Hermione except I am blonde. And Ravenclaw is very cool. Especially the Gray Lady. Rowena Ravenclaw's daughter?? AWESOME!!
And welcome to Ravenclaw, paraphernalia. Nice to have more Ravenclaws!! Yay!

Your welcome and thank you. I think JK had a great twist on that. It was so... awesome. It was cool learning more about the founders.

Whats funny is...I actually only do about average in school. I'm intensely creative, and supposedly pretty bright...and I love books....But I just can't quite get a perfect score in all my tests, and I baisicly flounder through some of my classes....
I wonder why that is....

I wonder why that is.... That is strange but I had a friend in High School that was like smart really smart, way smarter than me but he always did bad on tests....sometimes really bright ppl are not academically smart like einstein. The only reason I do well in school is because I work for my grades. In math I'm just miserable... gonk so yeah, maybe you just stress out too much on tests???

Yeah I can't take a test to save my life either, but I always make up for it when we have class room debates just because I'm one of the must vocal.

Oh wow. I am like the complete opposite. I don't study or anything and I Ace all my tests but I can barely get a word in doing debates and stuff because of talkative people in my class never give the shy ones a chance.

That is true....I'm just too shy to speak in debates...I especially hate when I have to make a persuasive speech to make my point. I hate it that next spring semester, I'm going to have to take Oral Communications...that is going to be horrible for me crying !

I am shy as can be so I am in Drama club to boost my confidence. I never like want to ruin my rep so I like never talk for fear of getting things wrong. I am getting better. My teacher says she likes how I like sneak into the conversation so maybe by college I will be able to do oral reports and debates. Let's hope. If not, let's say I won't be a lawyer like I wanted to be.

You can do it taylor, it just takes guts and initiative (just something I don't have), but seriously with you in Drama club that will definately boost the confidence up. So, any other ravenclaws in here? Does anybody have anything interesting to talk about?

Off the top of my head, since I joined (a week ago, was it?), there's a few members that post.
Scarf Taylorsue Klutz Para And one other gal (I think) earlier that I havn't seen for a page or so, I think. Dunno. Oraiste
I like smaller though. More close-knit and all, instead of getting lost in a crowd. Like having a small group of good, nice, reliable friends instead of a bunch of sorta friends you wouldn't share you close secrets with.
biggrin Yeah whatever. I go too deep into it.
Anyone else draw and write poetry, either or?

Kay, sorry for double posting, but It's on a different subject (school) so I feel I should ramble with a distinct ending line. I ramble on for hours unless I make myself stop (can you see it happening now?)
At school, I do okay. B-A+ average till 7th grade, and 8th grade I slipped big time. Well, I got a C, mainly Bs, and It's really all my fault for being lazy. Untill last year, I didn't have to study, or bring work home, or spend more than class time on an assignment. Last year when we had to go the extra mile, I discovered that I'm the world's largest procrastinator. Instead of doing homework during study hall (I even took extra study hall to make sure I wouldn't need to bring stuff home) I would read books, draw, etcetera. I attempted to remember my homework instead of writing it in my schedule, and I wouldn't do stuff at home. I also wasted away my hour on the bus to and from school by either reading books or daydreaming while listening to the music. (the bus ride is the only time I listen to rock/pop, and while on errands with my mom is the only time I listen to country. I don't listen to music at home because I can't stay in an area at a time, because of chores and siblings and whatnot).
It was either that or I would stay up hours into the night on my computer, instead of homework. When school starts, this is ending. I'll be on after homework, after prep, after the shower, after chores. What's left is my time to be with my family, watch TV, be on the computer, or hang out in my room. Hanging out with friends on occasion- we don't really get together after school.
My biggest tip for anyone in school- whatever grade - is Do your homework, and at least study for tests. Know the material, and back up your knowledge. Link that history text to a book you read last year, and re-check the book out. Compare them, if you want. That /can/ be study, as long as you make sure you also know what you'll need for class. Background knowlege for me helps me remember things. I think, hey, this event- that's what (character) witnessed right after (earlier event). I then remember what facts I can- say, I remember this person died because I remember it from both texts. Sometimes it doesn't appear in both. If it's not true, use it as a marking spot for another event or fact. If it is true, link it to a landmark. Say- In the book, The character's cat is killed. Right afterwards, (historic event) occurs. link them together- so when you come to the question, you can remember in what order of events it happened. And, because all this analysis stuff is so interesting, along with the book, you might have fun.
This wouldn't work for math, though, which I do okay at but don't know hwo to study for (do I practice the questions? Do I review my paper? Do I take notes on the steps to doing the problem and review them? D: ) and sometimes it won't help. But really. The moral of the story (wait, what story?) is do your homework and have fun studying if you can. Use your interests (poetry, art, sports, whatever) to keep it interesting and help remember things. Use a 'trigger'. When you think about the event, you trigger the memory of 'insert art here' and it helps you remember. Or perhaps it triggers a few lines in a poem. Of you link it to a sports metaphor, or an experience, so you link the two.
Seriously. I can link my work to anything- friends, books, other homework, teachers, drawings, quotes I've heard, things I've said, things I've thought, things non-related in the same text-book even. Haha.
Alright. Enough rambling on about my methods of studying while overloading your memory chips. biggrin
