"It allows can translate computer data...into a format that can be understood by the human brain...and vice versa!!" He held up a small chip. "If I were to install the neural jack into a subject, and insert this chip into the...NeuroJack(TM)...they could recite the entirity of Shakespeare's works from memory, as if the memories were actually their own!"

Eben, who had looked up to listen to Richard's words, snorted and went back to work. Mayuri, on the other hand, looked interested. "Interesing. So you can just download information to and from someone's brain?"

Cluadia sat down on the floor and looked a bit interested. Cassandra sighed and walked over to Sean's tank. She pushed a few buttons and the water from the tank slowly drained and the guards took him to a guest room locking the door so he wouldn't get out.

"No, you can't upload compter data onto a human brain any better than you could memorize it. The data is only avaliable while attatched to the NeuroJack. On the other hand, assuming you had powerful enough software, you could download things in the brain onto a computer! Also, I've also designed chips that can affect emotions as long as their in, as well as chips that lock theirselves in until a remote deactivates them. Unfortunately, there's a darker side..."

Cassandra blinked then looked away a bit, "That's what the goverment wants to do to us if we want to leave."

"Brainwash? Ooohh no...much worse. What would happen if these became mass produced, and somebody with ill intent tricked a hapless soul into inserting a self-locking chip that induced pain, and had no deactivation remote? The person would be in excrutiating pain until the chip could be surgically removed. And worse yet...what if...somebody created a chip...that interrupted the brain's signals to the heart? As I always say, there are two sides to every coin...or combine the two, and force somebody to laugh until they pass out, then it happens again when they awaken, and again...lust, anger, depression...despite it's good uses, this device has great potential for evil."

(Nobody's disagreeing or bickering.)
"Exactly. Two sides to every coin. But I suppose it's an excellent device in the right hands."

Mayuri shrugged modestly. "I have some skills as a neurosurgeon. I can help."

Rick grinned wildly, hopping onto an operation table. "Hook me up. Here are the connection sketches." He tossed Mayuri some papers, carefully detailing how it was to connect.
