So I just read the prologue and first chapter of The Way of Kings and I am so ******** confused.
One guy can "Lash" things together, and effectively change what "Direction" is "down" for objects and people.
Tonight is the night we become Great! The Stars are what gave us away!

Quite obviously a fantasy book, this guy possesses skills lost to common culture long ago. He inhales "light" like air, to fuel this s**t. He pretty much said that one guy he chose... He made up become down and vice versa, so the guy drifted up to the ceiling, only to fall on the spear waiting below him once the light wore off.
Edit; Apparently not god like, just ancient, Isa. Some interesting s**t in it though. Weapons that don't sear flesh, but rather the soul and whatnot.

Yeah, I know, right? The weapons they got are awesome. "Shardblades" cut through damn near everything, but they sort of phase through flesh.
What confused me most was when I began, two characters were talking casually about whether they had died or not. Then they mentioned one guy happened to take the most impossible situations and won them, often dying in the process. I was like... What?
