Lily lay curled up on her bed, starting morosely at the coverlet, arms wrapped tightly around Richie. There was still no word from Arlen, and she hadn't had the heart to leave her room for several days now, even to eat. Instead, she just stayed in place, eyes slightly gazed, shallow breath the only real sign that she was still alive.

In throught the front door walked a young woman with brilliant red hair and slightly tanned skin. Her clothes were practical and carried a good bit of dust from the road, some of which fell off as she stretched after closing the door. Spotting River, she gave a bright smile and spoke with what we would call a Jamaican accent. "This is the Demented Muffin right?"

Cerri, who was these days spending a good deal of time trying to coax Lily out of her bedroom, wandered downstairs, hungry. Seeing the new woman, she blinked, then offered a weary smile. "Hello then. Can I help you with anything?"

The woman turned her smile to Cerri. "Hello," she said, figuring River was lost in her own world or something. "I'm looking for a girl with bunny ears who should be staying here. Do you know her?" Cerri, and most anyone at the Muffin in fact, would probably see a resemblance ot Arlen in the woman, though she wouldn't be able to pinpoint it past the hair.

Cerri arched a brow, then blinked and nodded. "Aye, I know her. Do you have business with her?" she asked, thinking this might be just the way to break Lily from her doldrums. "Here... follow me, please. My name is Cerridwyn." she added as she turned and headed back upstairs. "May I ask what yours is?"

The woman followed Cerri upstairs. She hesitated a moment and took a breath in before fluidly saying, "I am Aliana Bellona Celina Donata Elysia Fidella Gallia Honora Integra Jovita Karise Levinia Martina Nona Oriana Perdita Questa Rosalia Silvia Tacita Ursa Vesta Zia." Finishing, she paused a moment to see Cerri's reaction to her most unique name.

Cerri's brow only inched higher, and she seemed rather amused. "Well. I'll just call you Aliana then." she murmured, then gave a chuckle. "Must have been quite a trick, memorizing all that." she teased, then paused in front of Lily's door. "She's in there."

"Took me the better part of my childhood before I had it," Aliana said, still smiling as she walked up to and knocked on the door. "Lily," she called into the room. "May I come in?"

Having decided that Aliana meant no harm, Cerri bowed, then walked away, heading back downstairs to get something to eat.

From inside the room, there came a long silence. Then, finally, just as most would have gotten frustrated and left, a very quiet voice could be heard through the wood. "I guess..."

Aliana opened the door and stepped inside the room and took a look around. She shook her head as she walked over to the bed and sat down on the end of it. "What's got you so down child?" she asked softly.

"Arlen's gone." Lily answered listlessly, not even bothering to look over, arms tightening around her stuffed koala. "Gone gone gone... nobody knows where..." she whispered, eyes filling with tears.

"Ah," Aliana said, sitting back a bit. "So you decided to help by moping up here doing nothing and worrying people who could be doing something to find him so that they concentrate on helping you instead."

"Yup. That's it exactly." Lily answered softly. "Nothing else to do, is there?" she asked, then finally looked to the woman. "Who are you, exactly?"
PostPosted: Sat Jun 02, 2007 7:28 pm

"I am Arlen's cousin," Aliana said. "Thought it's not quite as simple as that. Anyways, you are a severe disappointment child. When Arlen talked about you you were a strong willed, beautiful, and incredibly intelligent woman, but all I see is a sniffling little girl who's dumb enough to give up on everything at the drop of a hat."

"You talked to Arlen?" Lily asked eagerly, suddenly sitting up, ignoring all of the disparaging remarks. "Recently? Do you know if he's alright?"
