Orient shrugs. "I like ye, lad. More'n most people on the ship. I like spendin' time with you. If ye want me t'stop, I will, but I thought ye liked it."

He blushes a bit, as he tries desperately to convince himself not to read too much into Orient saying he likes him.... but ee! Orient likes him. "I don't want you to stop. Sorry, I didn't mean t'annoy you, I was just curious."

"It's just... I'm not used to such nice treatment..." Uriel smiles at him.

"I think everyone has the right to be treated nicely, like that. I also wonder why someone would deny themselves that sort of treatment."

He blinks, a bit confused by Orient's point, "I don't deny myself things... unless they'd get my hopes up. I'm realistic about what my life is bound to be like."

"Your life is only that way because ye're letting it be. A cute boy like you should be able to easily find someone that'll take care of you, and want to be with you, just because you're you."

Orient runs his hands through Uriel's hair gently. "It's hard for everyone." he says.

He sighs a little, "You don't understand. I can never stay in one place very long... not long enough for anyone to like me enough to want to support me... let alone to want to follow me around when i have to move."

"Why?" Orient asks... but its' the same way for him. If he stays somewhere... someone might figure out who he is, and he can't have that. The one person would tell someone else, and someone else until one of the people got greedy and turned him in. The only reason he can stay on the ship is because the crew is drunk everynight, and none of them are bright enough to really figure it out.

"Why do you think?" Uriel replies, a little exasperated at Orient for not immediately knowing what he was talking about. The pirate did know about this powers, after all.
