Tokeru laughed once more.
"I like your attitude, although you do need some better person skills, but hey, who am I to talk about that. Alright, i'll give you a trial, and if you pass, then you join us, not before, and not after. If you fail, you will still join us, but you will not be allowed to hunt, you will be a security guard, protecting our base from the immortals."
Tokeru looked at the man. "Your Children of the Night are nothing compared to what has come, and what will come. Be aware that your "group" is not the only one to have been hunting for centuries. We Shadow Stalkers have been hunting these abominations since the beginning, they were there when the first vampires made their appearance, and they are the reason the world does not know about them. Cleaning up is all well and good, but money is needed to make sure these things do not leak out, and we have that money."
Tokeru thought back to his family, and wished they were alive today.

Tokeru smiled, "Oh you need to learn this now, no one is innocent, everyone has commited some kind of sin at one point in their life. And don't worry, you will not be ordered to kill children, who are the only true innocent people."

Tokeru smiled, and thought of what he could make the hunter do.
He turned to Edith, and whispered in her ear. "Soo, what should we do with him? What should we send him to do?"

Joey ran through the streets, trying to make his way through groups of people to find Tokeru. After being brushed backwards, he found an easier path. He diverted into an alley and hopped up onto a dumpster before vaulting up to the fire escape. Once he was there, he jumped over to the other building and grabbed onto a window ledge prior to making a giant leap up to the roof. He looked over the edge to try and catch a peak of Tokeru's whereabouts before jumping across the rooftops, scouting the area below.

She was still obviously shaken by her actions since her pupils were larger than normal and she was twiddling her thumbs a little. "Who said you needed to be proud of it? And no, you didn't have a right, good thing I'm such a nice person otherwise you might have gotten a smack. I guess its a good thing I don't give those either. I just don't find them as effective or as drilling as a slugger." That and Edith had always been her father's little girl. She'd never been a princess for Halloween, never took ballet, nope, she'd be the scary gremlin and she would be playing hockey as opposed to twirling around in a tutu and strap-on slippers.
Edith slowly moved her face closer to Tokeru's and nuzzled his nose with her own to give him an eskimo kiss. There was just something about her Guardian Angel that made it impossible for her not to be happy around him.
Her hands were running down his arms, softly caressing them until she noticed his gash upon his arm and pulled away. "******** Tokeru," she exclaimed in horror as she watched his wound heal, "how the ******** can you hug me after I've friggin' tried to kill you and don't remember squat about it?! Were you even planning to tell me or were you hoping that I wouldn't notice and that it would heal quick enough?!" Edith was a big-time hypocrite when it came to slaughtering people and hurting people when one was being controlled or out of control. She would comfort others and let them know that she was there, that it wasn't their fault, but when the spotlight fell onto her everything was her fault and she did not deserve sympathy in her mind.
"Go ahead," she said, lime green eyes fading to a dull and lifeless gray, "shoot, you'll be doing the world a favor." She didn't hold her arms out, she just stood there, making sure that Tokeru was not behind her. And when asked the question, Edith did not know what to answer, she was still upset, still not thinking the best. "I don't know," she said, forcing herself to regain her composure, "lets dress him up in a tutu and make him dance for us. He could practice being a decoy."

Tokeru forced a smile.
"well, I like that Idea. Perhaps going hunting in a Tutu would work very well."
Tokeru actually considered telling Lezard to do so, but then thought otherwise. "Edith, my little temptress, remember, nothing you do will ever drive me away from you, or convince me to let others kill you. I would rather shoot myself, than lose you."
Tokeru unholstered his gun, pointed the barrel to his hand, and fired.
"See?" he said unsteadily, showing his hand, with the bullet stuck in his bones. He pulled out the bullet and let his hand heal. "I won't let anything happen to you, even if it means taking the bullets for you."

Edith nodded, forcing herself to smile so that she would stop unsettling Tokeru. She hated that she was making him somewhat upset since she was upset, she did not want him to be upset for her. Tokeru should not have had to waste his time on saving people from her either. She was a friggin' Shadow Stalker and yet here she was rampaging because she couldn't control some damned vampire persona. "We too highly rated for you there, kid?" she asked the man standing there watching them.
When she saw him unholster the gun she reacted two seconds too late and helplessly watched him shoot himself. Even though she knew that it would heal she still did not like him doing it at all. "Tokeru! Don't you ever ******** shoot yourself like that because of me again. I don't care if you'd rather shoot yourself, I won't have you shooting yourself to prove that point to me."
The vampiress then took his now healed and very tender hand with the care of a mother with her newborn child and kissed it softly. "Thank-you," she whispered, "for that. But don't do it again. I don't need proof, you've proved to me many times how much you care, I don't need to have you blasting yourself. And no one takes bullets for me. I've never let anyone and I'm not about to throw you in front of me to spare myself. Never."

Tokeru smiled, "You don't need to throw me in front of you, i'll do it willingly."
Tokeru kissed her, and then snickered at how uncomfortable they were making the new hunter.
"You know what? Your task is to go to one of the clubs, and pick up a girl. You are way too uptight. You need to successfully be able to talk to a woman for more than five minutes without the girl running away, and she needs to be sober. Now, go off and prosper."

"Then," she said mischeviously, regaining her playfulness upon her realization that she had an audience, "I'll make sure that you ain't around when I plan on getting shot. Which means that we ain't going on any missions together Mister 'I'm tough enough to take it.' Don't you think I've been shot before? I kind of have scars from it and being a vampire will stop me from scarring as well as it'll heal my wounds fast. Just not as fast as yours."
She chuckled at the new Stalker applicant. He seemed desperate to stay away from women. "That mean you're gay or something?" she teased playfully.

Tokeru smiled, and hugged her with one arm. He looked to where the other hunter was. "Still here? I told you, go find a girl, NOW."
He yelled the last part like a drill sargeant trying to motivate his troops. "Edith, if he doesn't go run and find a girl, we start making out in front of him untill he leaves, alright? And he's not allowed to get into the chapterhouse untill he's tried, even if he fails."

The vampiress chuckled deviously and moved closer to Tokeru, lips brushing over his seductively. "Better hurry there, kid. I think I'm getting horny." She smiled, flashing him her fangs, her gray eyes returning to their vibrant green.
