Tokeru felt relief as he felt Edith return to him. He wasn't sure how he knew, but he just knew. He entire attitude had changed, and she was back to her original caring personality.
"I'm glad you're back, remember, don't blame yourself for what she did, you told me the exact same thing, and yes I will keep bringing that up day after day, untill you finally start listening to it. I'm glad your back."
Tokeru didn't waste any more of his breath talking, but he wrapped his arms around her, and just held her, knowing full well what she needed.

"Tokeru," she said, voice somewhat weak, likely due to her struggle with the vampire as it had been a little more than just a mental battle. When she fought for control with the vampire it was both mentally and physically and it took a huge amount of effort, enough to tire even Edith. "It's my fault that I can't control it. It almost bit you, it was trying to, it wanted to. I could feel it's hate for you. I've never felt it feel anything before but the feeling that came from it when it saw you this time, it was angry. It wanted to kill you ... I don't care what I said before. I never knew that it'd get stronger ..."
"I don't," she said, knowing what his resonse would likely be, "care if you think that it can't kill you. It's holding back. It doesn't want me to see it's potential, it doesn't want to accidentally give it's potential to me. I love you and I don't want to be living in constant fear of killing you or someone else. I'm a damned freak. Just pump me with UV and you'll be doing yourself a favor. Or get someone else to." Her breathing was harsh but her grip on him never loosened.

Tokeru just held her closely. "Edith, we both have our demons, and we both have each other to help us get free of them. I don't care how strong you think your demon is, my love for you is stronger, and it will surpass all enemies. I love you so much that i would never kill you, i would rather let you kill me before that, but I know that while I love you, and while you love me, we will never kill each other, or let our demons personally get the upper hand."
He started to stroke her hair as he held her. "Besides, she just comes out when you're thirsty so far, so why don't we just carry around blood packs? YOu know, like in one of those refrigerated backpack thermoses. That would work wouldnt it?"

Edith forced herself not to cry or to tear up, however, that did not stop her from being afraid and upset. "Tokeru," she said as she held him, resting her head on his shoulder, "I did let my demon get the upperhand. She's a ******** psychopath. And I came too close to hurting you. If ever I did, if ever it was me that caused your death I would ... I don't even know what I would do ... I love you."
As he told her the blood pack plan, she listened though the thought had come to her before. It would definitely be safer and that way the vampire would not come out at unexpected time, hopefully. "It could, I guess, but ... never mind."

Tokeru shook his head. He placed his hands on her shoulder and looked into her eyes. "No buts, if you want, i can even make some kind of drug, that paralyzes your limbs, so you don't even need to worry about this, but I know you're stronger than she is. Even if you knock yourself down, I know what you are capable of, and i know you're stronger than your demon. Trust me."
Tokeru wrapped his arms around her neck, and hugged her again. "Trust me, I love you."

Tokeru always was able to bring her spirits up, make her believe that she could do stupid things, make her believe that she was unnstoppable. She had been attracted to that from the get-go and it was also sort of what ended up getting them togehter. Actually, the reason they were together now was because of the vampire within her. If it hadn't been for the vampire then she probably would never have seen Tokeru in they way she did now.
That thought scared her, made her wonder, and gave her something to talk about. "The only good thing," she admitted, trying to turn the conversation so that she could distract herself a little, "my demon has done for me was brought me to you." She smiled softly, gently kissing him on his forehead.

Tokeru smiled. "Dont you go bringing that in this conversation, I am not proud of that moment, I hugged you when you were a brand new Shadow Stalker, and cmon, i didn't even know you. What right did i have? But you are right, I am happy to have met you, and i'm happy that we are together."
Tokeru was happy, no matter what others thought, no matter what happened between them, he knew that they would love each other for as long as they lived. She was the only person that saw him for what he truly was, a caring, generous fighter. Tokeru cared for everyone around him, he wanted to save everyone he could, but he armored himself with sarcasm and a dry wit, to stop people from seeing him in that light, and hurting him as he had been in the past. Thats why he acted like he did with everyone else. Edith was the only person that had ever seen him for what he truly was, and he loved being able to show it, but he would never be able to show his true self in this world. This harsh and unforgiving world where caring was mistaken for weakness, and all weaknesses were taken advantage of.

Thr building had passed inspection and Kim kept her promise and paid the crew a bonus of about one thousand dollar apiece. Next came the carpenters ....again she paid for two crews with a promise of a bonus if it
was done well and in the shortest time possible.
Kim was out on the hunt and and this time she was back in China Town.
A young man was running thru the narrow streets and alleys; every once in awhile glanceing back to see if he was being chased. His mind racing back to ten minutes ago when a young woman was thought was of being easy prey turned things around... it could be nothing but a vampire. Now only he was left and he had been running as fast as he could go.
He was tired from running and trying to catch his breath when he doubled over in pain. Even in pain he could vaguely see her as she approached with
no sound made as she walked towards him. Once she was beside him the pain was gone and Kim lifted him up like a rag doll and looked at him thru
coal black eyes he fangs elongated and he tried to scream but no sound came out. Kim struck and slowly drained him...feeling evey bit of psyhic
energy and then his memories except for this one. He would survive his
mind regaining all that it lost except for a nitemare of coal black eyes and
knowing somehow they would come for him someday.

Tokeru smiled, and drew an incindiary grenade.
"WHy cover up? When you can destroy? WHy take the chance of the forensics findind something, since they really can. The bite marks may dissapear when you slice their throats, but don't you think they will find it odd that the cuts don't bleed? WHy take the chance?"
Tokeru threw the grenade among the bodies, and walked out of it's range, still holding Edith's hand.
"Now," he said as the bodies burned brightly. "What did you want to talk about?"

Tokeru grinned. "I am not a New Yorker, and nothing I make can be traced to anyone. They chemicals will dissipate in the air, and the only things that will be left of this area will be a black blot. Smoke inhalation will explain what the man has seen, and if we pour alcohol over his clothes, no one will ever believe anything he said. And who are you talking about anyway. All of them are dead. There are no witnesses apart from us. All the muggers are dead, and so is the guy in the suit, so who are you talking about?"
((I think edith stated that she killed the business man. Gonna check and edit my post if thats true, yep she did.))

Tokeru laughed at the absurdity of the man's claim.
"If you even so much of think of touching her, you will not live out the day. You may be a hunter, but you answer to me, and her. Not the other way around. We have higher rank, and have been hunting here for much longer than you have. I have been hunting since i was 11 years of age, and you will listen to our decisions. This is not a threat, but I am warning you to be aware of your place, and your actions. It is not your place to judge what happens. I have killed innocents before, countless thousands of them, but I have also tried to redeem myself from my mind controlled past. Learn about us, before you judge us."
