::Maximos smiled from ear to ear and reached out to grab the sword. His hand had just touched the hilt when the wierdest look came over his face. Its the sort of look you'd have if you walked outside in the morning and your car wasnt where you parked it. It wasnt missing anything, just moved.

He eyed the sword like he had never seen it before, gently sliding twisting the hilt until it clicked and then sliding the blade open. His eyes scanning over the blade itself with puzzlement cast across his face.

He flicked the flap of the blade with the tip of his finger. A gently clang was heard followed by...nothing. No hum. Sure, this looked right, but it wasnt Decker construction at all.

He squinted bringing the sword close to his face before a smile spread from ear to ear followed by laughter.::

Haha, thats a good one but really, wheres my sword? This feels right, but the construction is totally off.

Ruuvan had a feeling it wasn't going to be that easy to get the sword back; after all, Josh had only encased it in dirt to give it physical shape and hold the spirit version of the sword.

With a sigh and slight shake of his head, Ruu placed his chin on the headrest of the driver's seat and spoke to Maximos.
"It's in there, just covered in a dust shell." He shrugged slightly and shook his head again, "Joshua, this guy who helped me get into Heaven to find out, made it so I could carry it around with me... I have no idea how these sorts of things work."

So what's the plan? You want to go and find Walter?" For a brief moment he thought Max might not remember his own butler, if that was a good enough term for him, not to mention his palace on Shadow Island.

::He analyzed it for a bit, just scanning the blade back and forth.::

I can do something with this...just not at this moment....

::He paused, looking quite serious as he examined the blade, before finally settling on his course of action and looking up at Ruuvan with a wonderful smile from ear to ear. That sort of smile Maximos gave that outwardly said "Everything's ok."::

Sure! And I should very much like to meet this Joshua person, but first...I think it would be best if I found some better clothing. Something less...dreary...there are shops here in Latent, right?
PostPosted: Sun Dec 03, 2006 5:39 am

Ruuvan simply nodded in response to Maximos' last question, the one regarding clothe shops in Latent, as he turned around and got back into the driving position. A quick turn of the key and the jeep roared to life, pulling away from the dirt stop on the side of the road and onwards to Latent.

Not five minutes later, what with the being on the outskirts as it was, Ruu pulled the vehicle outside a rather quaint clothier and turned off the engine.
"I'm sure you can find something in there. I'd like to keep these clothes for the time being." Just as Maximos had done, Ruu smiled from ear to ear and tapped the fine metallic craft of his Elven armour, happy to have a part of home with him.

Kichiro Oda

With determined steps, Phylas of Sparta walked into the town of Latent through the docks.

The sounds of the water sweeping forward and backwards were music to Nocere's ears. The metallic teal skinned women stood looking out towards the horizon. The sun cast a brilliant light onto the water, colors of reds, oranges, and blue popping up and making everything sparkle.

Gaia.

Nocere loved it here. This place where diverse numbers could congregate and enjoy their lives. Nothing like home.

The alien reluctantly turned her head from the magnificient sight and turned towards the Town of Latent. She only arrived a few hours ago, but she was already in love. Everything shown with a sort of brilliance that caught her purple eyes. Such divine beauty was only meant to be seen in her dreams. . .

She started towards the town her black boots crunching the sandy ground beneath her. As she walked she crossed her sleek arms over her petite chest making sure to keep her long, sharp thumb nails from stabbing into her. The large teeth that made her belt swung around her hips, making hollow noices as they hit each other.

Nocere's cold countenance looked on in front of her, not paying any mind to what happened to her sides or back. This would probably be why she accidentally walked into a man that shined like the sun upon the Ocean.

When, if they touched, the long, metallic tealish-brown bones that made her hair would be thrown into a defensive mode. Standing on end they would look like pointed phalange bones, shaking a bit harshly. A sight to see, Nocere's hair would be.

Of course, I havent seen a full Elemengal elf armor set since we visited your house. But, these clothes, are not anything I want to remember.

::He drove with the window down, though it took him about 10 minutes to figure out how to get the window down. He was alive, after a long time of being cold and dead, and as such he wanted to enjoy the sights, sounds, and experiences of being such.

There was an utter bliss in something as simple as the wind blowing in your face. Or ones hair fluttering in the wind. For the first time, his age was showing, Maximos was starting to black, as visible by two black streaks of hair at his temples. Native Arian's black, instead of grey. It also occurs at a much earlier age than in Gaian humans. With his memory restored Ruu might even be able to take note of that. Thankfully for the Shadow Warrior his face seemed to never change.

When the car came to a stop Maximos paused for a minute, he looked down at himself, then over at Ruu, gently placing his hand on Ruuvans shoulder.::

Thanks Ruu...promises between true friends, really do last forever. Theres nothing in this life I can do to fully repay you, I know, but...thank you. I'll be back in a few minutes.

::Maximos turned to exit the car...this was immediately followed by 4 or 5 minutes of him trying to figure exactly how to work the door mechanism. As he left the car, he muttered something under his breath about how difficult the "Steel-Magic Box" was to open. And soon after that vanished into the store.

It would take a few seconds, but Ruu would find himself pounced by D. He was a child, he couldnt really articulate a proper stream of verbage to reach the right scale of thanks, so he pounced.::

Phylas was quick to grip the hand piece of the round sheild on his left arm, bringing the center pike to be between him and whatever thing that bumped into him as he stepped back. His sandles didn't make much noise as he moved backwards so quickly, but all his weapons did against his armor. The right hand still carrying the spear loosely against his shoulder and down to the ground.

"What in the...."

Phylas knew he was going to regret his travels here, when he saw boney hair come flying out like that. The deep Greek eyes looked on in a mixture of shock and awe, but he quickly shook himself of that to return to the typical cold and hard glare that he always had.

"Excuse me miss. I'd advise that you watch where you are walking."

All of the spiked ridges along that round shield were glittering, they were diamond after all. Phyals inwardly smirked on how someone could run into him when he was so big and covered in sparkly thing. He dropped his left arm to his side when he could tell it was more out of clumsyness than any mean to hurt him.

Though, the strange hair did beg some caution.

Owle Isohos
Owle sighed, but this time it was more out of relief than anything. She'd been assuming he hated her...it was nice to know she was wrong.

She really didn't know much about Gaia's gods. His question seemed rhetorical, anyway. But if he was looking for out of favour deities...well, there was one sitting across from him.

"What?"

A blank stare.

"So...the goal is just to make up a story for each piece? Then...get them all onto the same path? Somehow?" She studied the board, trying to make sense of it. "I'm a little confused...aren't there rules for movement?"

Maybe that's what the dice were for...unless they were characters, too.

"Well, I'll try it, but I might need you to stop and explain things to me midway through."

She looked up into his eyes. Really freaky eyes, but she supposed they were beautiful in their own right. And, unlike the eyes of most people, she didn't feel like she had to look away...

((Sorry for all the delays Owlie x.x been all over the place these last couple of weeks))

He laughed for the first time in someone elses presence. It wasn't very grating, but it did sound as though it didn't happen very often.

"You're already thinking too hard. Look," He took a few of the more complicated pieces off the board, tapping the spiral underneath, or at least, at first it looked like a spiral, but then it shifted, and branched where he touched the top. Suddenly the doll shifted sideways, a little further from the others.

"The pieces move themselves according to your thought, as long as you touch the table, they will move based on the process your mind goes through. Become distracted by problems, and your characters suffer, like the dolly. She's suddenly been taken in a differant direction. Should they fall over or fall off the board, I win."

He put his head in his hand and stared at the board.

"I guess you could say it's a game of order versus chaos. You're trying to organize things, and bring the story in full, I'm trying to take it apart, to scatter them."

Nocere's white pupils zipped to the shimmering man. The right side of her mouth pulled back in an almost disgusted looked. She blinked a couple of times trying to come up with the words. Her native tounge was much different from what they spoke here, on Gaia.

"Watch where I walk?" Her voice was sleek, but had a raspy feel to it as if she hadn't spoke in years. "You'll excuse me. I was busy thinking, makes me unresponsive."

Her arms fell from her chest and went to her sides. She didn't seem scared, nor did she seem to car that she could have been attacked. Her hair went back to its normal way, more relaxed, as she sighed comfortably.

"You look ready for battle. Is this a dangerous place?" She turned her head from the him and looked around a bit. "It's such a peaceful place, it looks."

Phylas' own voice was low and rough, like one might expect of a soldier or fighter. As for Phylas' looks, well, his body looked in peek condition with every muscular feature being defined. Even his flowing black hair that could be seen coming out of the back of his helmet, looked like it was well groomed. It was something Phylas had been doing since he was 12, some two thousand years ago or so.

"I'm a gladiator miss. I'm just as new to this place as yourself. I heard there was an arena in these parts..."

That was the only thing Scorpio had bothered to tell him on the ship as they traveled here. It's not like there was much more the Spartan needed to know. He was a fighter, not some great problem solver or explorer. He couldn't work a lock pit, and couldn't navigate his way out of a dungeon through traps.

No fireballs.

No crystalballs.

Just the balls between his legs and under that man-skirt with the inlaid metal pieces, also known as a Ptergis.

"Don't let thinking get in the way of your own safety mam. You could have run into one of my blades and hurt yourself."

The pike was made of vorpal, an enchanted metal that could puncture through anything. The only problem was if he wound up landing on it. The spiked ridges were diamond coated, and no one has to ask how sharp those things are. Just by Phylas' equipment, one could tell he was sponsered by a rather large organization.

Ruuvan

How Ruuvan still knew how to drive this 'magic steel box' was beyond him, what with all the new memories taking over and making him think of nothing else but what had happened in his past, but he had managed to get them into Latent safely and turn the engine off before he started to question such things.

Whilst Maximos' antics of opening the window and door were amusing, they were pushed aside as he thanked his friend in a truly masculine way; Ruu would've shed tears of joy if it hadn't been for D pouncing on him from the back seat, all making for a rather funny situation. People walking by the car looked on in puzzlement at this armour clad figure in the driver's seat with a child jumping around the interior, but they had seen a lot stranger things and kept moving.
"Happy to have your brother back, hm?" Even without words Ruu knew D was saying thank you; seeing a child so happy was something he never thought would bring a smile to his face, but it did.
PostPosted: Sun Dec 03, 2006 6:45 pm

:: D Really couldnt do anything more than smile as wide as his cheeks could handle and nod his head like it was attached to a loose joint. One nod just wasnt enough, so it looked like he was aiming for a thousand. Though he didnt even nearly reach his record before he just stood up on the seat and hugged Ruuvans head. It was just the only part he could get his hands around. As one could imagine, he wasnt going to let go.

The next 10 minutes flowed by pretty quickly, and soon Maximos was seen exiting the shop with a shopping bag in hand, profusely thanking the shop owner. He wore a long black jacket, split in the back so as to give it coat tails. In the front it buttoned all the way down to the waist. The sleaves were long, but cuffed at the ends. And atop it all was a hood, it wasnt as thick as a reaper hood, it really only covered the top half of his face, leaving a good portion of his nose, and all of his mouth exposed, but it shaded over his eyes. Strangely though, there was a faint white glow from his right eye. It was like a small white light cutting through the black. As always both of his hands were dressed in fingerless gloves, and his normal black slacks and black boots. It seemed he had also customized the pull strings of his hood, and his cufflinks to look like small skulls.

It seemed he had embraced his Reaper days, as opposed to trying to ignore them. And with a bright smile on his face he walked to the car door...and pushed it. Then tried to slide it, then tried to pull it down...sideways...after a few seconds he pulled it, up and it opened. Semi-embarassed he sat down and set the bag on the floor in front of him beside his feet and smiled at Ruu and D.::

I'm all set! But um...how exactly do we get this steel magic box into the sky with Shadow Island is?

Having peeled D off his head by the time Maximos got back and with the jeep's engine on again, Ruuvan pulled off of the curb and started towards the dock once they were all settled.

As Max questioned the vehicle's aerodynamic ability, Ruu thought back to the island and remembered its lack of floating, he also recalled the lack of ships in the water hence the reason he had to take the airship, but he put two and tow together and figured the island was normally floating... or something.
"We're taking a ship, if there are some going this time." Stopping briefly at a t-junction he turned his head so he could address Max slightly more directly, "Last time I had to take an airship and drop onto it... it's not in the air anymore." With a small shrug he continued, taking only a short time to arrive at the port where everything seemed to be in working order. Stopping the engine, checking his equipment and getting out of the car, Ruu opened the passenger side for D to get out and waited for Max to leave the jeep before locking the doors. He figured Max would be contemplating the reasons for the lack of floating-ness, thus give him time to concentrate and find a free captain lounging around at the docks that could give them a ride.

With a smile on his face and the slight tap of Elven boots on the ground, Ruu walked on up to the captain and gave his ship a brief once over.
"Any chance we can purchase your services? We need to get to Shadow Island." He had an idea that wasn't what they called it, but since it was big and black they could most likely figure out what he meant.
PostPosted: Sun Dec 03, 2006 7:30 pm

::Its true, Maximos was plotting what could have possibly caused the island to fall. He would have been worried weather or not it survived, but a falling island is nothing for Walter and if Ruu was there, then everything HAD to survive. He just wanted to know why it fell...

Then he overheard Ruuvan mention "Shadow Island", he sort of cocked and eyebrow and leaned over to whisper to Ruu.::

Uh...I never told anyone that name...

::The captain just sort of cocked and eyebrow and rubbed his chin.::

Um...sure...you must mean the wierd island with the windmill. Yeah...just uh...get on, we board in about 10. That'll be 187, pay the lady at the receptionist desk.

::He walked away looking at Ruu and Maximos like they were insane. Who would want to go to that creepy island? Granted, there was nothing black about the island at all. It was bright and green, and plush, Walter took awesome care of the island. So the Shadow reference just went right over the mans head.::

In response to Maximos' whisper, one that was kind of redundant and didn't need to be said, Ruu whispered back to him.
"It's an island and a person who controls shadows is the master of it; Shadow Island." God, did no one get his logic? Of course Ruuvan had to guess that Maximos was meant to be the master of it, affirmation being Walter calling him Master and he did indeed control shadows. Even the captain was confused, but at least they were going to get a ride there.

As far as money went, that wasn't going to be a problem. Even if he was crushed into a small cube of flesh and reformed just how he was, only with another Elemengal eye and a full set of Elven armour, there was still that brown envelope on his person containing the first part of Evan's payment for finding the stones - joy! So, having found said receptionist and paid the fee that was asked, Ruu boarded the ship and began wandering aimlessly around the deck until they were to set off.
