"I see someone got a little bigger since last time," the nameless trainer smirked, his hands resting on his hips. "Let's hope that he can actually put up a fight for Machoke this time."

"Oh, I'm sure he will," Kasiya merely smiled, remembering that Fang would be much better off keeping his distance from the fighting Pokemon. "Alright Fang, let's show this guy just how much stronger we've become since then! Air Cutter!" Fang let out an ear-piercing screech, and created a sharp gust of wind that sliced through the air towards the Machoke.

"Focus Energy," said the boy quietly, eyeing Fang. Machoke made a move to get out of the way of the Air Cutter, getting clipped in the shoulder. A red gash stood out against its ruddy gray skin, and it growled, flexing its large muscles and striking a fighting pose. Wisps of red energy encircled it, and it glowed brightly with a red light for a second. If the Machoke were to land a strike on Fang, chances were good that it would be a hard hit.

Hmm... Kasiya thought, her mind going over Fang's list of battle commands. "Use your Supersonic attack!" she said finally, inadvertently covering her own ears as Fang opened his mouth and let out a high-pitched, siren-like noise. Machoke slammed its hands against its ears but it was too late - its eyes became unfocused, and its arms fell limply to the sides as it stared around its surroundings helplessly.

"Karate Chop!" the trainer called, gritting his teeth. Machoke just turned its head and blinked in confusion; at least it didn't hurt itself this round. "Come on Machoke! Snap out of it! I said Karate Chop!"

"Chooooke!" it cried suddenly, leaping high into the air towards Fang, its hand outstretched. Fang braced himself for impact, emitting a confused squeak as the fighter sailed right past him and embedded its foot in the ground - a failed Low Kick.

"Quickly Fang! Now hit it with your Wing Attack!" Fang's screeches filled the night sky as he went into a dive, striking the Machoke in the back with two of his four outstretched wings. The fighter gave a cry, swinging his arms wildly in hopes of connecting with the Crobat.

"Watch out, Fang!" Kasiya cried, much too late as Machoke's right hand made contact with Fang's lower right wing. For a moment, Machoke's mind was free from confusion as it took hold of Fang and slammed the Crobat into the ground with a Seismic Toss. Fang flapped his wings furiously, trying to free himself, and finally succeeded after buffeting Machoke across the face with a wing. Airborne once more, the Crobat flew up high, determined not to let Machoke get a hold of him again. "Alright, now that you've got some distance, give it your best Toxic!" Kasiya cheered, her confidence soaring now, for Fang had already tripled the time he'd spent in the last battle. Fang circled above the Machoke - its foot was still stuck deeply in the ground - and spat a gooey substance down below. It made a sickening splatter as it connected with Machoke's head, droplets of toxic goo spraying the ground.

With a groan, the poisoned and confused Machoke yanked its foot from the ground, looking quite enraged. "You've improved, I'll give you that," the boy called angrily, pointing at the airborne Crobat. "But this ends now. Machoke, use Flamethrower!" The Fighting-type looked up at the sky, and took careful aim at its target before opening its mouth, a jet of flames shooting up and making direct contact with Fang. The Crobat screeched horribly; when the flames died down, painful scalds covered his scaly wings and body.

"Sapphire see if you can get him," Mitsu instructed. Sapphire nodded and jump up, paws outstretched ready to tear away some of those light brown feathers. "Zyphyr use you're Aerial Ace!" The Pokemon merely turned his head away and shot forwards with a Quick Attack. He really doesn't want to listen to me does he? I guess the affects of that Soothe Bell has worn off and he really didn't like me after all. The Quick Attack missed as Sapphire nimbly evaded the attack by leaping to the left, landing on all fours. He gave another growl, not bothering to make it any more intimidating that it already sounded. "Good you, keep it up!" Mitsu cheered.

"Hey there," a voice called out from behind her, "Aren't you a cute one." Mitsu turned around in time for the boy to cup his hands around her cheek. He was wearing a pair of loose jeans and a red s**t. A black sports jacket over that. Mitsu could feel her eye twitch. "Get your hands off me!" she practically shrieked ripping his hand away from her face. Her eyes squinted into a glare. "How 'bout a battle?" he asked casually as if the fact that she had screamed never occurred. "If I win I get a --"

Mitsu cut him off. "How about a no?" Her glare had not stopped. Sapphire was now by her side and Zyphyr floated idly a few feet above. The boy merely smirked reaching out his hand again. Sapphire had already sprung into action. He wasn't going to let some creep near Mitsu, especially this boy. He was just about to head butt the guy in the stomach when a blur of brown and white zoomed past him and into the boy's gut. Zyphyr flew up after sending the boy several feet away from Mitsu. She blinked slightly. "Thanks Zyphyr," she said watching the boy race away. He had been all talk. The Pidgeotto squawked. "Thanks for what, I didn't help you in any way." Although he may have said this, he knew deep down (all right very deep down) that he did care for this girl. He knew that if it had not been for her, he probably would have died.

Aska's momentum carried her directly into the first strike from the Twineedle, the second one grazing her wing. The little Pidgey let out an annoyed chirp, using her speed to put some distance between herself and the giant bee. Aska watched the Beedrill carefully until she was told by Miharu to use her Gust attack. Aska flapped her wings vigorously, whipping up a vortex of wind that was aimed right for the Beedrill.

"Fang? Are you okay to go on?" Kasiya called up to her Pokemon, who nodded. "Great! Now use that new move you just learned! Show me what you've got!"

"Machoke, use Revenge!" the trainer called, but all he got was a confused stare.

Fang hovered on the spot, his four wings making no noise as he stared down his target. He narrowed his golden eyes into slits, and opened his mouth. A beam of bright, yellow energy rocketed forth, scoring a direct hit right into Machoke's chest. The sound the Hyper Beam made as it connected drowned out the Machoke's pained cries, and when it was over, Machoke lie in a heap on the ground, smoke wafting up from its unconscious form.

"Unbelievable!" the trainer cried, holding up the Great Ball with an almost trembling hand to recall the Machoke. "You got lucky this time," he sneered, swapping the Great Ball for a regular Pokeball. "It's your turn! Let's go, Dodrio!" A three-headed bird appeared before the, squawking loudly. Its three beaks snapped at the air, eyeing the high-flying Fang dangerously.

Anna loosed her Psybeam unto the weaker Pokemon as it continued to charge at her. Rhyhorn attempted to skid to a halt so that it could move out of the way of the attack, but it had been moving too fast to stop in time. The Psybeam blasted Rhyhorn in the head at the perfect angle with so much force that, in conjunction with how fast the larger Pokemon was running, it caused the Rhyhorn to flip backwards and land crashing onto the earth, the spikes on its back getting buried into the soil. Rhyhorn began to panic, and attempted to run. This, of course, was nothing but a fruitless attempt, and Rhyhorn was getting nowhere. In a sense, it was like a turtle flipped over on its back. Rhyhorn started to cry-- or, at least, make a blubbering noise that was reminiscent of crying.

Anna's pupils shrank to a comedically small size as she was trying to take in the event that had just occured before her. Nina poked her head out from behind the tree and looked over at the helpless. "Jeez, Anna!" she said, "I just needed you to debilitate him, not make him cry like a sissy!" Anna turned her head to Nina and said, "What?! Do you think that I intended for this to happen?! He was running too fast to begin with!"

"Well, we can't just leave the poor thing there! What if the wrong person comes along and finds him?" Nina stepped out from behind the tree and approached Anna and Rhyhorn. Anna stared blankly at Nina as she moved closer to her trainer. "Wait. Nina, don't you even tell me that you're thinking about capturing him. Aside from the fact that he's a Ground- and Rock-type, one of the types of Pokemon that I know you hate more than anything else, I think that he's mentally retarded. I mean, look at him! He's still trying to run away!"

Nina looked to Rhyhorn, who was, in fact, still flailing his feet crazily. "Anna... that may all be true," she began, "but who's to say that he won't come in handy for something? What if he turns out to be the single most powerful Pokemon that I raise? Who's to say--"

"Who's to say that this is a facade and that he'll start chasing us again once you capture him? Or maybe he's too much of a baby to battle?" Nina reached into her bag that she still had from the Safari Zone, and pulled out one of the balls. "I won't know until I capture him," she stated simply. Nina approached the beastly Pokemon, and assured him that everything would be okay. Extending her arm so that it was parallel to Rhyhorn's body, she dropped the Safari Ball onto him.

Seeing Erika's response to Apollo confused Dante as well but he decided not to coment on it. Seeing his Apollo out and looking as magnificent as ever brought a smile to his face that wouldn't go even if he tried. Finally seeing that Erika had recovered herself and order a Sludge Bomb attack. "Apollo dodge it!" Dante comanded. Needing no further instruction the pony pokemon did a few quick elegent side steps dodging the attack that flew right past. "All right Apollo lets show them your Flame Thrower!" Apollo whinnied and stomped his hoves on the ground once before opening his mouth and shooting out the same silvery white and black flames.

"Take that annoying Crobat out! Tri Attack!" The Triple Bird reared back each head, a different coloured light forming at each beak. With a cry, the three lights were released, combining into a ray that struck Fang directly. Having had to recover from the Hyper Beam, Fang could do nothing, only screeched loudly as ice began to form on his leathery wings, thus impeding his flying ability. The Crobat dropped out of the sky and crashed to the ground, remaining still after the impact. Wincing, Kasiya bit her lower lip and called him back, happy that Fang had at least been able to show that Machoke a thing or two.

The Safari Ball conked Rhyhorn on the belly, and it sucked him up. The ball sat on the ground, and Rhyhorn tried to break out. The ball wriggled back and forth violently for at least a full minute before stopping. The Safari Ball dinged.

"See?" Nina said to Anna. "I told you that he'd--" Nina was interrupted as the Safari Ball resumed its wriggling."You were saying?" Anna asked, with a smirk. Nina glared at her Pokemon out of the corner of her eye. "Shut up, you. Just watch; it'll stop wriggling."

However, the Safari Ball didn't stop wriggling. Rhyhorn continued to fight the ball's power, causing the ball to keep shaking. He must have fought back for a good five minutes before finally succumbing. The Safari Ball dinged again. Nina grinned. "Believe me yet?" she asked Anna.

The ball resumed shaking again, and Anna grinned smugly at her trainer. "Uhm, no?" Nina eyed the Safari Ball warily. It shook for another minute or two, and dinged for the third time. Nina watched the ball for a few seconds, before approaching it to pick it up. "Well, finally," she said, picking the Safari Ball up. "I caught Rhy--"

The ball started to shake. Again. Irritated beyond reason at this point, Nina stared at the Safari Ball she held in her hand. She took in a deep breath and exhaled. "If you don't stop shaking this instant, I will release you and beat you with a wire mixing whisk until you start to cry!" Nina screamed at the ball, her head flapping like some poorly-drawn character from an anime television show.

Rhyhorn obeyed. He stopped fighting back and the Safari Ball dinged for the fourth --and final-- time.

"Wow, Rhyhorn REALLY wanted to go after all, Nina." Anna smirked.

Nina glared at her Pokemon darkly. "Go play in traffic, you stupid fart," she muttered.

It was at this point that Lyn did something very uncharicteristic of her. She screamed. However this was not any ordinary scream. In this situation any person who was as scared of spiders as Lyn was would have screamed but no one holds in as much emotion as Lyn. Lyn's laziness stems from her inability to express herself properly. Becasue she cannot express herself she doesn't talk much nor socializes much. From this the ugly beast known as repression reared it's ugly head. With no way to talk about how she was feeling and no true desire to she began to unknowingly repress her emotions. The sudden change from annoyance to total fear managed to jar the flood gates open just enough to set free all of her repressed emotions simultaneously in the form of a scream. I have described why the scream was so powerful to tell you this. The scream was powerful. It was a mix of every emotion Lyn has ever not let out. Somewhere in a far away galaxy Jedi felt a disturbance in the force. Pidgeys fell out of the sky, Metapods fell out of trees and Exploud all over the world were impressed. Both Z and Summer looked over there shoulders to where rout 11 was and wondered what happened but were to preoccupied to go over.

This post hads been brought to you by Dr. Thera pist, the invisible psychologist that follows rand people around and makes coments on their state of mind. Now back to the main story.

As the Flamethrower attack was finished, the rays of the sun also died down as Sunny Day's effects ended. Erika gave a little sigh; her poor Vileplume didn't stand a chance against that attack. She recalled it quickly, holding the last Pokeball in her hand. She didn't say anything at all as she let it fly, revealing a rather vicious-looking Victreebel. It gave a sharp scream-like cry, lashing its long vine out and eyeing the Ponyta suspiciously. "Acid," the gym leader said quietly. The lid-like leaf atop Victreebel's head opened slightly, a spray of highly corrosive acid spat out, covering a good majority of the gym's floor. Erika smiled. Apollo's diamond-like hooves would have little-to-no traction on such a slippery surface.

Kasiya studied the Dodrio for a second, wondering how a Pokemon with three heads found the ability to function at all. Realizing she'd almost forgotten she was in the middle of a battle, she pointed at the strange tri-bird. "Let's go, Flash!"

"Heh," the boy scoffed, once again folding his arms over his chest. Last time Flash had fallen in defeat rather quickly, because Kasiya didn't have the proper badge to command his respect with. "This ought to be good," he commented, and pointed at the Jolteon. "Tri Attack."

Kasiya didn't even have to tell the speedy Jolteon to dodge it; the incredibly nimble Jolteon jumped to the side gracefully, static rippling through his bristled fur. "Retaliate with a Thundershock!" Kasiya called. To her delight, Flash listened, generating a weak electrical current that traveled through the air and struck the Dodrio, who gave a startled cry. It shook its three heads furiously, each pair of eyes staring down the yellow Jolteon with anger.

The nameless trainer's face remained expressionless, and he shook his head. "Such a weak attack? How predictable." He brushed a few strands of dark hair from his face, and sneered. "Alright Dodrio, use your Fury Attack!"

The three-headed bird gave a loud screech (amplified by the fact that it came from three separate mouths) and dashed towards Flash, each beak taking a few wild swings at the Jolteon. Flash ducked and weaved, getting hit only twice out of the total of five attempts to strike him. At Kasiya's command, the Jolteon jumped back, and focused his energy to form a powerful Thunderbolt that struck the close-range Dodrio for a massive amount of damage. It wasn't enough to cause it to faint yet, although this time static crackled through its lean and normally limber body as its muscles seized up, drastically slowing the usually speedy bird Pokemon to a fault.

It was true Apollo who had jumped out of the way was now slipping around on the floor unable to hold himself up very well. Gritting his teeth Dante watched Apollo slip around some, while the attack didn't do any damage to the fire horse his inability to stay up was. Even though he wasn't confused Apollo was hurting himself. "Apollo if you can jump up and use your Flamethrower on the floor!" Dante ordered hoping that this would work. After a moment more of slipping around Apollo managed to get his feet under him and jumped into the air. The horses strong legs caired it fairly high into the air, not high enough to risk hitting the ceiling or anything though. Opening his mouth Apollo let out another Flamethrower at the ground managing to burn away some of the acid in a small area. The acid around the now clear space was on fire creating a small ring of flames. Apollos' trip in the air was coming to an end and he started to fall back down to the ground.
