Spent my days with a woman unkind, Smoked my stuff and drank all my wine. Made up my mind to make a new start, Going to california with an aching in my heart.

"And Remus chose poorly." Kaok joked.
"We appear to be opposites in some regard."Someone told me theres a girl out there With love in her eyes and flowers in her hair. Took my chances on a big jet plane, Never let them tell you that theyre all the same.

"I could say the same of Emma. What similarities do you see?" he jested in return, absentmindedly adjusting his waistcoat.

"I-." Kaok was just about to speak, when the door to the Vestal opened. Whether or not it was best, her eyes went straight to it, revealing her face to the newcomer, and the newcomer's face to her.
The elf, James Cairndeer, stood there. For a moment both were quiet. She wasn't sure what he would do. But he would just sit down on a stool next to her apparently, saying nothing.
"Lord Bainbridge, this is Dr. Cairndeer." The Faun motioned to the elf.Someone told me theres a girl out there With love in her eyes and flowers in her hair. Took my chances on a big jet plane, Never let them tell you that theyre all the same.

"Pleasure to meet you, sir." he said as he bowed. It was only proper to observe the formalities; he did not know the man, but it could never hurt.
The Saxon could practically taste the tension in the air.

"And you as well." The medic muttered, ordering a strong beer.
Kaok had absolutely no idea what to say or do, so she took a sip of tea.Someone told me theres a girl out there With love in her eyes and flowers in her hair. Took my chances on a big jet plane, Never let them tell you that theyre all the same.

There was a long, awkward silence which remained unbroken as the sorcerer took back his seat and fought the temptation to pick up his book again.
The bundle of emotions and sensations in the back of his mind that was Emma looked on with interest.

For several moments, the silence in the place was hardly bearable.
"Banny, why did you have to go and leave like that?"
Kaok slapped James on the wrist. "Don't call me that."
"You don't outrank me anymore." He grumbled. "Now, why did you leave?"
"I told you about Remus."
"Yeah, you've been together all of a few weeks. And he asks you to up and leave your planet and betray Gaia, and that's fine and dandy?"
"He said he would give up his throne if he had to for us to be together. If he's that devo-."
"People say a lot of things, Banny!"
"Like: 'I'll request a transfer to your unit, Kaok' or 'I'll see you in a few weeks, Kaok'?"
"That's a completely different situation. And I don't appreciate you making me look like the fool that I am. That's just a cheap shot. C'mon, you're my friend here."Someone told me theres a girl out there With love in her eyes and flowers in her hair. There was the strange silence of somebody desperately trying to pretend they weren't there while listening in on the conversation intently.
Pages turned, but the sorcerer's ears were still tuned in to the Faun and elf's argument.

Neither noticed in any way that they were being listened to.
"You have a funny way of showing that." Kaok mumbled.
"When you were dying over there in that booth, which physician mended your wounds?"
"The same one that had to have a blood donor fall right into his hands."
"When you were dying of an infection as a prisoner of war in some foreign land, and all the other doctors either couldn't or wouldn't help you - when you were praying to Pan for the first time in your life - who saved you then?"
"An elf I had never previously met before, and thus couldn't have been curing me out of some deeply rooted friendship."
"True. But wasn't I the first real companion your age that you had? And you just leave me and fly off into space without saying goodbye!"
"Perhaps I should've said goodbye, but what do you want me to do now?"
"I dunno, Kaok." The elf sighed. "I can't be away from my best friend like this. I can't have you so far away."
"And I can't come back."
"That leaves only one option then." James' eyes drifted down to his beer bottle. "If I have to see you, and you can't come back-."
"You're not going to defect, too-!"
"That's not your choice to make, friend."
"I-. Just... think about it more, James. It's not a decision that I made lightly, and I had a reason."
"I have a reason, too. Neither of us have family. You're the closest I have. There's nothing keeping me here. But fine, if you want, I'll think about it. But my choice will likely be the same."
"Alright, James." Kaok sighed as the elf paid for his drink and left. Soon after, she did the same.Someone told me theres a girl out there With love in her eyes and flowers in her hair. Took my chances on a big jet plane, Never let them tell you that theyre all the same.

The doctor entered the tavern and sat down at the counter. Tiredly, he asked for not a cup of coffee, but a bottle of scotch.
Pouring himself a glass of the alcohol, he took a few sips of the drink.

With heavy footsteps Vii descended the stairs and assumed a stool. She laid her head down on the cold clean surface of the well lacquered bar top and let out a long and hearty sigh. Her tail poked through the slats of wood the back of the stool provided and it swayed slowly as she remained there for a prolonged moment. Reaching over the bar she pulled up a glass and a bottle, unconcerned with the type she poured a glass and sprayed the soda fountain on Coke. No matter what it was, it was sure to go with good old coke.
Sitting up to take a drink she looked around for signs of life. She'd missed this place, but at least now she was confident she was not a liability. ★★★★★★★

Skutz walked in the Tavern after a lull of interactions with other members of the Battledome. Flexing his hand, feeling his old energy flowing through him, Skutz looked around with his same old smirk, "hey Vii, Mrs. Tavern owner, hows life?"

"Well look who found their way back." She joked, though her head was pounding. "And as for me well, I have been better. Sometimes I think remaining a vampire might not have been all that bad, especially right around the full moon." The petite woman shivered, her pink hair shuffling around her face in her rapid motion. "But what about you? You finally took the cure?" She pointed to him as if he might not have noticed, and then took a big gulp of her cocktail. After the burn stopped her eyes were wide with fear as her insides squirmed anxiously emitting the most dreadful sound. ★★★★★★★

From above Gallon crashes through, utilizing his shield as an anvil, he keeps his shoulder deep inside. Until he hits the ground at which point he rolls in one swift motion, allowing the tower to be carried up by momentum. Before his second foot hits the ground, Stranger has withdrawn the saber, and now as he crouches into position, it's crimson blade extends. His skills are transferring quite nicely, he's becoming one with what drives him, the narrator non-conspicuously noted. "Where's the trouble my love?" Gallon's one yellow eye shimmers with emotion and compassion for the woman who was howling.

Her howl was cut short by the ruckus cause by her husband's heroic entrance and her ears flopped back while her head tilted into a characteristic tilt. "What the heck did you do that f-" She began to tease him but something caught her and then all of the sudden she was on her feet, shuddering violently as the change began to contort her hybrid figure into that of a large wolf, snarling and seething with unprovoked rage. Tables and chairs seemed to explode out of no where and the wolf just crouched there growling at nothing more than the tavern at large. ★★★★★★★
