Tenshi rubbed his face trying to wake himself up, even giving himself slaps. He rotated his head around in a circle an stretched out his body. He needed to relax and not feel overworked. That's probably why I can't concentrate. I've been working way too hard and it's just my minds way of telling me I need to take it easy. He nodded his head agreeing with himself. Not till after I finish though, so work with me here.

He made a handseal and focused on finding his chakra. Once he found it, he tried grabbing a hold of it and pulling it into his hands, but his grip kept sliding off and the chakra just returned to its normal flow. He tried doing it again, but his grip wasn't tight enough and his chakra slipped right through the cracks, keeping its own flow going. He put his hands in his lap and looked up at the sky, the back top of his head hitting the trunk of the tree.

Tenshi closed his eyes and laid back. Forming a new handseal, the boar, he focused on his chakra and brought it back into his hands. The feeling was as intense as ever a his skin prickled with goosebumps. He shuddered, but kept up his meditation and manipulating his chakra. He wondered what jutsu he would be able to learn next... He shook his head, No, I must work on my swordsmanship. I need to be a better fighter.

Keeping in his zen, he continued moving his chakra throughout his body. He wanted to just be done with it, but he couldn't finish without doing anything, so he kept moving it around his system, keeping it nowhere in particular. He was getting bored of sitting there, moving his chakra, and ailing to move to it. It seemed to take forever just to complete one training, especially for him.

It reminded him of the running he did when he was in the academy.Never in his life did he ever think himself bad at running until he had to do it in the academy. He fell on his face more times than he could count. Maybe he just had a lot of bad luck... He shrugged his shoulders and made the dragon seal and summoned his chakra, moving it around his system, familiarizing himself with his network.

He held on to the dragon seal and continued channeling his chakra through it. His meditation was complete and now it was time to get to bathing. Oh, I cannot wait to get into that bath! It will be nice an relaxing. He stood up and stretched out his limbs, with a yawn. He checked his belt to make sure his sword was properly attached before he set off.

As he entered the grove, Hiru lead Batsu to a clearing where he had dueled Andou a few years back. It had plenty of open spaces but also a couple of hiding spots to make things more interesting. Plus, no big area of effect jutsus had been used so the place had not been levelled yet.

Quickly jogging to distance himself from Batsu by about ten meters, he turned around and drew out Samehada. He took good care of tightening the wraps covering it, just to make sure it wouldn't shred his sparring partner by accident. It could still drain chakra, but it wouldn't inflict those nasty scars it tends to leave.

"Please attack first Batsu!", Hiru insisted with a smile, stepping into a combat stance.

If Batsu had learned anything from the two Hoshigaki that Batsu faced in his life, he knew that they weren't always the brightest. Granted, Hiru seemed different than the others. At the end of the day, he was a Hoshigaki. So it was time to put him to the test and see what he was about. Hopefully, he would fall into a similar grouping like his clansmen.

Batsu quickly snapped his bow back in its holder for the time being and went through a few handseals. After doing so, his eyes locked on to Hiru's and he stared as if he was ready to snatch the man's soul from him.
"Mugen: Kuro Ikkou no Jutsu!!!"

Hiru was surprised he hadn't suspected what would be his opponent's opening move: genjutsu. Clearly that boy had experience fighting Hoshigaki. As soon as Batsu had finished forming the hand seals and started uttering the incantation of the jutsu, Hiru felt his psyche undersieged by foreign chakra.

The technique's complexity and efficiency was incredible for a shinobi of Batsu's experience. Hiru had to summon a good deal of his will to avoid being trapped in the illusion, and even that barely proved enough. Shaking off the residual effect of the unsuccesful genjutsu, he grinned at his opponent. "My turn now."

Batsu had a feeling that one of two things was about to happen. Either Hiru was gonna charge at him and use his Samehada, or he was about to use ninjutsu. One way or the other, Batsu was gonna have to dodge in order to not be hit.

However, Batsu saw an opening. Rather than go on with the attack, Hiru stalled. Batsu was not about to go down that easily with his sparring partner... especially since he was facing someone THIS dangerous... no matter how much of a friendly spar this was.

"You should know that wasting time like this can be detrimental in a battle. Albeit, this is a friendly sparring match, I will not give up easily. And if I lose, you'll definitely know that I put up a fight!"


Batsu said no more. After another set of handseals, 9 replicas of the boy appeared and scattered throughout the clearing and behind some trees.

To See Through Clones: d20 + 1/2 the user's int mod + half the user's chk mod vs. d20 + opponent's int. mod. Opponent will target the real ninja among the clones.

Hiru was wondering about the various techniques he could employ for the current battle. He was pretty certain he could use a few jutsus that would pretty much end things then and there; but the whole point of this exercise was that he wanted to see what the medical ninja would be capable of in a live combat situation.

After a second or two, Hiru came up with a strategy that would certainly force the shinobi to display the entire range of his skill set. As he weaved a few hand seals, he adressed his opponent: "I heard you medical ninjas are pretty nimble, in that case, you shouldn't have that much problem faring against multiple opponents!", he said on a bit of a joking tone. As soon as the seals were all properly cast, Hiru slapped his palm againt the ground and firmly invoked: "Kuchiyose no jutsu!"

In a small bang, two pillars of smoke suddenly burst from the ground on Hiru's both sides. As the smoke cleared, silhouettes gradually appeared, revealing the form of two ninja tortoises.

"Yo, Hiru-kun!", a voice said from close to the ground, accompanied by what seemed to be muffled music. "You used to summon me in situations that looked much more desperate than this one!", added what appeared to be a small tortoise wearing headphones.

"Gakkame, quite obviously Hiru-san has summoned us in a training situation. It is indeed a welcome change of pace.", answered what appeared to be a katana wielding bipedal tortoise. Turning back towards Batsu, it adressed him politely as it drew out its blade: "Boy in white, my name is Kamesori, it is an honor to spar with you."

As they finished talking, Hiru stretched out Samehada as the small green turtle jumped on its flat bandaged blade to use it as a platform to leap on Hiru's shoulder.

((Okay, ignore the entire post but keep the roll. In that case...))

Batsu watched the whole thing unfold in front of his very eyes. Lo and behold, the were two summons right in front of his face.. Now, not only did he have to worry about Hiru-san, but now there were two others in the fray. Batsu looked at the first summon, then the second, then back at Hiru-san with one of the most annoyed and exhausted expressions that he EVER had.
Add that with Batsu's now monotoned voice and it was quite evident that this was not what the boy had in mind.

But what could he do? Even worse, he knew NOTHING about these summons at all.

"Hiru-san, you CAN'T be serious..."

Batsu's eyes rolled towards the heavens and he looked back down at the more serious and mild-mannered of the two. "Kamesori, huh? Batsu Watanabe..." And with that,Batsu summoned his clones and scattered all around the grove.

Hiru wanted to see how Batsu would fare against a wide variety of attacks, and these summons would help him do just that. So far, he was impressed with his opponent's strategy. Knowing Hiru's skill at avoiding physical damage, he had attempted an attack of the mind. Then, when he saw the number of opponents had increased, he attempted a diversion by using a very basic, yet effective, academy grade jutsu to buy himself some time.

"That's a nice strategy!", Hiru praised his opponent. "However, I don't think you've met my friend Gakkame before, he might not look like it but he's not just a musical genius!", he added.

"Ha, genius is a mega understatement!", answered Gakkame. The small tortoise jumped right off Hiru's shoulder and, as it landed, its fall was cushioned by a thin layer of water. "Suiton: Mizu Kassou!", it said, casting Hiru's signature jutsu.

The technique is an improved version of water walking. The user condenses a thin layer of water under his feet and uses it to propel himself with bursts of speed in any direction and ignore terrain difficulties. Instead of moving his feet, the user moves the water he generates to initiate movement before he even moves a muscle. The technique is usually used on the ground, but can also be used on water for a reduced chrakra cost.
Cp: 2 cp per post on water or in a water field, 8 initial cp + 4 cp per post on land
Dice Rolls: 2 to initiate, if on water, can be used as a reaction.
Damage: Add chakra mod charging attacks (started from a distance)

Special: While this mode is active:
*Replace [dex mod] in [Dodge] by [chk mod]

"Now, to find the real one...", he discretely said, gliding around the battlefield at very high speed, going through the area most densely populated with clones.

It zipped between many of the clones before finally stumbling upon the one who was certainly the real of the bunch. Gakkame only had to analyze the way it acted, trying to hide a bit behind the others while trying not to be too obvious.

"THIRD ONE FORM THE LEFT GUYS!", it yelled, informing the others of the real Batsu's location.

Kamesori wasn't the type who'd participate in discussions or quips during a battle. He knew the drill, as soon as he was informed by his partner of the identity of the real Batsu, he lunged at him with two quick strikes in order to force him off balance.

Attack 1: d20 [18] + Attack Melee [34] + 2 per 10 in Katana [08] = 60 (hit)
Attack 2: d20 [03] + Attack Melee [29] + 2 per 10 in Katana [08] = 40 (miss)

His first swipe proved devastating. It was obvious his opponent had not expected to be seen so fast. The blow was so quick and so precise it barely gave Batsu any time to react, connecting directly. Lucky for him, Kasmesori was fighting with the blunt side of his blade. Certainly this would leave a mark, but no scar.

His second attack was chained without much conviction, it was mostly a diversion to give him the precious few moments he needed to channel his jutsu. He immediately started focusing chakra into his blade so that future attacks would prove even more effective.

Stage II: Chakra Control DC 22 Practise conducting the chakra through the weapon. The weapon should be like an extension of your own hand.
Special: Add [chk mod] to damage. Melee weapons only.


Immediately, his blade started flowing with lightning as he readied for a counterattack.

Now that he had had the opportunity to see Batsu defending against physical attacks, he thought he'd increase the difficulty level by launching one of his own at the same time. Placing his hand on the ground, he generated a chakra drain channel between his palm and the sole of Batsu's foot. As he was distracted by Kamesori's attack, Hiru seized the opportunity to attempt a chakra drain, something that would destabilize even a pro.

This technique allows the user to absorb the physical and spiritual energy of an opponent. The user doesn't have to actually touch the opponent, since it is also possible to use it through other media such as earth or water. The only necessary condition is some medium through which chakra can be channeled.
Cp cost: 1/4 of chakra drained.
Dice Rolls: 4 Rolls
Damage: User can drain from (Chakra Control / 2) to (Chakra Control x 2) cp per usage
Will DC: 15 + user's chakra mod + 2 per 10 ranks in user's Ninjutsu
Special: A successful Will check prevents any chakra from being drained. A natural 1 on Will check doubles it. The user gains the Cp drained from the target. Can be used while grappling.
