Mhm. They do look awesome. Being a fan, I got the DA, Vanilla, and Templar command squads in a row, and the "knight" one looks awesome every time.

Sorta random, but I was wondering what it meant when Space Marines are given the flat helmet, shown here (The one of the bottom right):

http://us.games-workshop.com/games/40k/spacemarines/catalog/spacemarines/sm_MarneusC.htm

I've seen it a couple times, and I was wondering if that was a characteristic of the Mk8 Armour, or if was just something random. Personally, it's my favourite helmet that I've seen, despite taht it makes them look more 'knightly' and less 'future-y'.

The knight-like helmets are supposed to be "Heresy Era" armor, as seen here:
http://www.solegends.com/citcat911/c2007smarmourvariants-h.htm

Mk8 armor, also depicted there, hasn't really been brought back since that one model right there. They've started giving collars to some Marines (notably veterans and Templars), but it's not quite the same.

What do you mean by support?

I assume the Heavy kind. In which case, naturally, a Black Templar Land Raider Crusader. 3nodding

this comes from the Bolter and Chainsword forum. The proposed codex release schedule is as follows:

Dark Angels (out this friday)
Codex: Apocalypse (rules for 3,000+ games)
Orks
Chaos SM
Blood Angels
Dark Eldar
Space Wolves or space marine redux

Chaos have been done really. I don't see why they're on the list.

HUSH YOU! Think of the new models! crying

If they look like the new possessed marines you're in trouble though.

I can't believe they're all ready considering reduxing the mairne codex.

Hmmmm so heavy support. Well a crusader is good if you plan on shoving assualt termies right in there quickly which is great and you get a lot of fire power. Though if you want something that will take out tanks I would either say a preadator, a few dreadnaughts if you can spare the points(though not recommended since in my experience he always gets blown up like first or second turn) or take a normal landraider, since you can transport a small but effective force into battle like sword brethern with a close combat Marshall. Or if you want take a devastator squad and put them way in the back, take five models and five lascannons, you will have a good chance of taking a tank out.

'gratz lion_el_johnson! A friend of mine is getting into DA-- so since I will be helping him with painting and converting, I get to help myself to some of the bitz pirate >.

As to the templar support question: a templars army could always use a little firepower-- and nothing says firepower like a pie-plate launching vindicator!!!

I find it interesting that a lot of old Dark Angels players are unhappy with the new codex and leaving, but a lot of new players are coming in.

I must rise above all these DA newbies. No offense. sweatdrop As give or take the only DA player at my store sticking with them ( sad ), I feel some responsibility to be good at it.

Yes a vindicator. If nothing else always take a vindicator. Once in range that thing can take out a unit very easily with its str 10 ap 1 ordanence blast.

I was at first going to play Dark Angels but decided not too, then I was looking for a chapter with a easy paint scheme since I was a very good painter so I chose Black Templars. Ever since then I don't care how badly I lose I will always love my fanatic and zealous marines in all their glory.....and the three HQ choices I can get hehehe. That reminds me of my marshall that my friend fears. It took almost and entire necron army shooting at him before he died...didn't kill anything cause of the stupied we'll be back rule!!! Whoa way off topic.

They're really hard to put together though. >_< I wonder when they're going to update the kit? Maybe for Iron Warriors in one of the Chaos updates.
