The Dark Lord studied the young woman silently for a moment before he spoke. She was young, but from the stories he'd heard, that only made her more dangerous to those who were overconfident and unprepared. Her long red hair cascaded off her lithe shoulders as she stayed kneeling before him. "Rise," the Emperor commanded so he could look into her eyes. The fact of the matter was that it had been quite some time since he had last heard from Zara which prompted him to send out a few of his more skillful people to see what had become of her. Kaede was the only successful one to find her so far. "Well then," he continued as she stood, "if the man killed a Hutt, we should be able to ascertain the man's identity at least, the rest of the syndicate is unlikely to allow this to go unpunished. You have done well, Kaede... so far."

Kaede stood as requested, but left her gaze planted firmly on the ground.
"You have done well, Kaede... so far."
"Thank you Lord Rahl...What would you have me do now?"
She so dearly wished to hear that she would be the one to hunt down "lady" Zara, but she doubted she would be given the pleasure of killing the emperor's pet. If anyone was to ever be shown lenience it would be her and her alone. She seethed that someone who would betray his trust like that would be allowed to live, but she masked it as best she could. She had not made it this far in the Imperial Knights by making mistakes born of foolish emotions.

With his finger under her chin, he gently lifted her face until she was looking him directly. "Your thoughts betray you my dear Kaede," the Emperor stated with a disarming smile as her beautiful eyes met his own, "You will find Zara for me, but you will not engage her." Taking her hand, the Dark Lord placed a small holocommunicator in her palm, "Report to me directly when you have located her."

She blushed furiously, embarrassed that he had read her thoughts so easily. Though she had expected that she would not be allowed to harm her quarry, it was still somewhat of a disappointment. Curling her hand around the communicator she backed away and bowed deeply.
"As you wish Lord Emperor. I shall begin by questioning the Hutt Crime Lords."
She paused and looked down at the device she now carried.
"What should I do if Lady Zara is unwilling to co-operate?"

Lord Rahl smiled at her. He knew what she wanted him to say, but he would not give that order. At least not until he found out for sure if Zara had defected or if she was still loyal. "Do not engage her. Don't even let her know you're there until you report to me. I want to speak to her myself and find out her intentions," he ordered. Looking deep into her eyes, he leaned in close, her scent filling his nostrils, "If I find her heart is loyal to anyone but me, I will give her to you to do with as you will. That is my word."

Merely nodding Kaede turned and walked from the room, eager to get back to her ship. If it was restocked she'd be on her way back to the stinking cesspit that was Nal Hutta. If not? Well the deckhands would feel more than a little discomfort at keeping her waiting. Her eyes shimmered with excitement. She could only hope that Zara was truly an ally to the Je'daii.

Kivi snorted a derisive laugh Captain Dawson...you deceive yourself if you believe your numbers outweigh ours...you were on Voss - that is but one of our outposts..the manpower, the technology, why we cut down Rahl's ground forces with little or no difficulty..as for that we even cut down the man himself..and he believes himself to be the strongest and greatest of all force users..bah...granted our fleet was ill prepared..but I admit...we did not anticipate the legions of ships he had sent...the Je'daii numbers far outweigh any band of pirates you may have amassed...and yet...an alliance may be in both our interests.....we are not against it...however...you must look at this from our perspective...due to the naivete of not only our Grandmaster..and his most trusted Masters..well..let's just say, we do not intend to make another such mistake..the Jawa presents no trouble...but I would "request" he remove his artillery ..it is pointless to bring the droids..why Master Terva has not already disabled them is beyond me...but we would be forced to do so if they dare touch our soil ...Captain..if you truly come in friendship...then you must put your faith in the Je'daii way...you have dealt with the Grandmaster, Terva, Stone and Blanc..you have suffered no ill at their hands...we on the other hand have just suffered a grievous loss...the choice is yours... turning to Elyria and Corvin... Masters Blanc and Stone - what are you still doing here..be on your way..get your preparations made and head out to meet the Captain.. looking back to the screen.. So Pirate King...have we made a deal?

Elyria again bent her knee to the Council, we will await your orders, Masters...straightening she looked over at Logan and shook her head..after his actions, she could do nothing for him..his fate was sealed at the hands of the Council...turning and inclining her head to Corvin and Mizu to follow, she made her way outside the Council Chambers

...as the doors closed behind them, Elyria brushed by Corvin without even looking at him, her heels clacking on the stone floor…she turned, her eyes dark with anger… “How dare you! How dare you offer that girl’s life for mine! Is her life less valuable? Do you think she would fare better? She has power yes, but she is untrained….you would send her into the lion’s den in my place? This is NOT her fight! …she started to walk away again… then turning to face him once more…. And just who do you think I am..some simple woman to mend your clothes, make your supper and ask how your day was? I have trained since I was nine years old! I drew my first blood while you were still playing Nega ball with your friends! While you were smuggling your goods I was leading troops, setting explosives… making a sweep of the arm around the room - Look around you... this is who I am – I am a warrior…I am Je’daii! she looked at him, eye to eye and drew a deep breath before turning her back on him and once again starting to walk away “Master Blanc prepare your Padawan for the journey…that is if she still wants anything to do with you after you were so ready to throw her life away…raising her arm in a dismissive gesture she headed down the Hallway, the only sound ..the clack of her heels ……

Corvin was so stunned by Elyria's outburst that he couldn't even bring himself to interrupt her. It wasn't until her back was turned that he managed to sputter "Throw her life away? Is that really what you think I meant?" But she was moving so quickly he couldn't be certain she had even heard him. He put his head in his hands and took a deep breath, and muttered "Things never used to be so complicated..." before steadying himself and turning his attention to his so-called padawan.

"I'm certainly not going to force you to do anything you aren't willing to do..." he said, "And that includes calling me Master. You've got little reason to trust me, but I can explain if you'll let me, and I'll still teach you ... here he turned and began walking down the corridor in the direction Elyria had gone, but looked over his shoulder after a few strides with his charming smile back, and added "if you're interested."

Deilirium of Dreams

His left cheek was pushed up, just slightly into a small smile. The je'daii were gravely underestimating his abilities, refusing to believe he could be their equal or worse their better. He wanted them to be on level grounds and respecting the others power but if they wanted to imagine themselves greater than the Flame of Vahl he would let them. "I trust you have not been to coruscant lately? This legion that he sent is not even a quarter of what he has grounded on the planet, not that I would have access to that sort of information mind you. Though I am highly insulted that you think my droids could be so easily disabled, if you were to ever meet one I would certainly not recommend trying that." he shook his head and the two droids remained silent, their dull red photo receptors glowed slightly brighter. "Now you raise a good point about these Je'daii but this Master Blanc, his padawan had tried to kill me on two occasions so even still I am hesitant to trust you on this.... Excuse me I must see what is taking that blasted med droid so long, Ex Ex delagate for me." The pirate shook his head and walked out of range of the holo emitter.

"Delighted Statement: Je'daii is is so nice to finally get to speak with you, Master Dawson believes that I can finalize your arrangement." the droids vocabulator rose slightly in pitch "Proud acknowledgement: You fear to have us on your planet, je'daii wisdom is indeed as grand as we have heard. Statement:The master is uncharacteristically diplomatic with you, this causes pause in our primary programming. We will remain aboard the Delirium, however we will be tracking our master.Veiled Threat: Should anything happen you are advised to expect sixty-five percent mortality rate, that number rising an additional fifteen percent with each of our brother who are currently offline." the droid was pacing using its arms to add emphasis to its speech. "Conclusion: The master will accept your terms, but be warned" the droid turned its head looking down at Master Terva "We will not tolerate any hostile actions against our master. We will inform him of our decision." the droid reached out and shut down the communicator.

Dawson grumbled as he made his way back into the cockpit, the holo display had been shut off, tossing the syringe to the Togruta "Give her all of that, she'll live, tell me do you know what it is that Je'daii was talking about? Final stages of some disease?"

Delirium of Dreams

The togruta had a million different things rushing through his mind all at once, 'Zara is dieing, some one is going to find Maim, these droids, something is very wrong with them. Why can i not maintain contact with the force, the silence it is deafening. I must wonder what would have happened if I lost that fight, then who says I have truly won?' he sensed the syringe moving towards him before he even realized that Dawson had left the room let alone returned. "Right thank you." the je'daii pushed the plunger in letting a stream of the liquid splash his hand before injecting the remainder into the woman's arm. he looked up noting that the comm system had been shut off, and the two droids were staring at him "I have my suspicions, but I need to run several more tests once we land to be certain." Davth lifted the small woman up and placed her into a chair buckeling the straps to hold her in place. "The council is rough around the edges, but I suspect you will enjoy your time on our planet. We are going to be allowed to land right? I am afraid I was lost in thought."

“Master Blanc prepare your Padawan for the journey…that is if she still wants anything to do with you after you were so ready to throw her life away…"
Glowering at Elyria, Mizu flicked her fingers conjuring a medium sized fireball into existence, to gain her attention.
"I do not need your permission to do anything. For your information Corvin was discussing a plan whilst you were busy organizing things. Perhaps next time before berating him you would ask what his plan is first. I am not his padawan and I am perfectly capable of preparing myself. Also I don't ever remember saying I would be accompanying you. That decision was made for me, not of my volition..
Snapping her fingers again she put out the flame.
"I'm certainly not going to force you to do anything you aren't willing to do...And that includes calling me Master. You've got little reason to trust me, but I can explain if you'll let me, and I'll still teach you ...if you're interested."
She glanced back at the scoundrel. She wasn't at all interested in becoming his padawan. She was her own person and answered to no-one unless it was absolutely necessary. She'd stayed silent the entire, mostly because it would've been a mistake to get involved. Something that Logan, for all his apparent worldliness, didn't seem to understand. Sighing she crossed her arms behind her head and started walking down the hallway.
"I'll listen. Not making any promises other than that."

Deilirium of Dreams

Dawson looked over at the pair of droids awaiting the answer that apparently only they could provide. "Statement:The Je'daii were unwilling to allow us to depart the ship, but worry not master we will be monitoring your vital signs and location to insure you are safe." The droids voice almost sounded cheery. "There we have it, though I for one am not a fan of just orbiting my "secret base" so I say we wait for our escort, we go down to the planet and have a drink or two eh? Maybe even pick up some supplies, I suspect good liquor is not so easy to come by." As he spoke the pirate turned the engines back on, there was a dull hum of something powering down only audible for a brief secon before it was overpowered by the engines warming up. Switching over to the comm station he picked up a headset and dialed in a frequency. "Listen good I'm only gonna say this once, This is Captain Dawson coming in for a landing. I've got if all things a Je'daii master in tow ad by the looks of 'em he needs a good time. Now we won't be planet side long, but I trust you all could blow off some steam to eh? Oh, and before I forget, we are expecting guest, more Je'daii so don't get trigger happy eh?" The pirate smiled at the response he heard the light the headset. " I hope you like twi'leks master Je'daii." With that he took of the headset and sat down in the pilots chair.

"I'll listen. Not making any promises other than that."

"Works for me" Corvin said, hearing about exactly what he expected to (though not getting singed in the process, which he frankly also expected) "I'm done here... let's go!" he added, as he really couldn't get away from the council chamber fast enough, but kept his strides measured and purposeful so as not to show any signs of discomfort.

He led the way back to the landing pads, expecting they would be in a hurry. His gaze cast in the direction of the Temple of Healing, wondering if his mother was tending to the Grandmaster, and wishing he had time to see how she was before leaving so soon. "Sorry there's no time to give you a tour..." he said to Mizu. "If you need anything before we go, now's your chance to say"

He made his way toward the Epoch Wren, where De'avril was brushing her lekku aside to keep it away from the mechanisms as she finished refueling. He wished as well that there would be time to repair the hull, but that would have to wait... Elyria would be here soon, he was sure of it, but he wasn't as sure of what he would say.
