When Lin thought back on it, Aethos reply actually kind of made sense considering his history. Though what he was afraid specifically of she wasn't certain. She watched the two hoping it wouldn't get more blown out of proportion than it already was.

"Not ... of you," Aethos replied, rubbing the back of his neck awkwardly, his eyes on the floor. "Of how you might start to act. I know, things are different in this country, but in my country, the people ... feared me ... I think. I don't know, they all treat me the way they treated my father, as if they're terrified of me, so I suppose ... that's how I thought royalty was treated. Since my sister returned and took over as Queen, she's been treated like the peoples' saviour - which really, she is. But they haven't treated me any differently. It's part of why I'm out here, so that I can be me, without being a prince. Because I don't want to be treated like that."
Alassëa lowered her staff slowly. "And you thought I would be afraid of you?" she asked him softly. It was hard to tell if she was angry or if she still felt betrayed - and in reality it was a little bit of both.
Aethos looked at her, and he seemed ashamed. "I just ... didn't know."
Alassëa raised her staff again, but instead of pointing it at Aethos, she hugged it tightly, as if it were her lifeline. She looked deep in thought, and her mind was racing.

While it hadn't occurred to Lin that might be the case, she had to admit now that she heard it, it made sense. It seemed that Alassea wasn't convinced but she didn't know what it was like for Aethos before leaving home, or how he was like for that matter.
She looked at the two wondering how this was going to turn out.

Aethos was watching Alassëa anxiously, waiting for her to respond somehow to him. The seconds passed, and finally he couldn't take the suspense. "Alassëa?" he asked hesitantly.
Alassëa lifted her head ever so slightly, 'looking' in Aethos's general direction.
"You're such an idiot," she told him softly, in a slightly exasperated tone. "Honestly."
"Iddit!" Andarien mimicked cheerfully.

"I don't think you're supposed to say that," Miyuki told her little brother.
Though she wondered why Alassea was calling Aethos an idiot, maybe because he didn't trust her not to be afraid? It wasn't like MIyuki didn't know of that problem she still remembered her time with her friends.

Andarien grinned at Miyuki. "Iddit!" he giggled.
Earendil chuckled and tapped the little boy on the head. "We're going to have to train him out of that," he grinned at Miyuki and Lin.
Alassëa sighed, her shoulders drooping slightly. "I'm sorry," she murmured. "I made a mess of our visit ..."
But before Aethos could relax, she poked him in the chest - this time with her finger, startling him once again.
"We'll continue this discussion later," she promised him firmly.

"No," Miyuki said firmly, "You don't say that."
Lin chuckled because Miyuki had once repeated an inappropriate word, not that Earendil knew that it was back in Gaia when MIyuki was very young. It was safe to say that Raven's brothers were later terrified of Lin.
"It's alright, it was a shocker to you and it probably had to be at least said first," Lin replied feeling a bit sorry for Aethos.

"It did," Alassëa agreed.
"Would you like to come upstairs and wait with me?" Aethos asked her meekly.
Alassëa shook her head. "Not right now. Later we will talk, when I am not so angry."
Aethos nodded silently. He still wasn't sure he could understand, but he wouldn't argue. He knew she was good with that staff of hers, and if she was angry he would prefer to wait. "I'll take your bird," he said softly, holding out one hand.
The bird eyed Aethos disdainfully and ruffled its feathers. Alassëa stroked the bird gently and made soft bird noises at it, and finally the bird let out a squawk and flew to Aethos's shoulder. It didn't seem very happy, though, and Aethos winced slightly at how tightly the bird was gripping his shoulder.
"I'll see you again later," he murmured softly before heading back towards the door behind the counter.
Andarien blinked at Miyuki. "No? Mi no?"

"You don't say that word," Miyuki told him, "That's not a good word."
Though how much Andarien understood that was questionable.
Lin hoped that Alassea would cool off soon, the poor guy didn't seem to take that well at all.

Andarien was just plain confused now. "Mi no iddit? Goo' iddit?"
Earendil put one hand on Miyuki's shoulder. "I don't think he's going to understand," he murmured. "If we don't make a big deal out of it he'll probably forget about it."
The tanner watched as Aethos disappeared, then turned back to Alassëa. "Well ... welcome home," he offered, a bit weakly after all that chaos.
Alassëa smiled faintly. "I'm back," she murmured, "but I'm not home."

"Oh... okay," Miyuki nodded at this.
It made sense she supposed since her little brother didn't know what he was repeating was a bad word, or so it seemed.
"Are we going to look around now?"

Earendil smiled at Miyuki and nodded, standing up straight again and picking up Andarien, who was still mulling over the fuss they were making over the word he had learned.
"Go on and take a look around," he smiled at her. "There's lots in here! More than was in the woodshop anyways."
Indeed, in this shop, the walls were covered with pre-made wares: bags and leather garments and armour, boots and shoes among many other things. The craftsmanship, though not quite the same quality as the leather on Amon Darthir, was quite good.

Miyuki nodded eagerly as she went to look at the bags namely even though she didn't need another one, but she wasn't interested in the armour, not really interested in the other clothes and most certainly not interested in the boots and shoes.
Really she liked petting the bags.

Earendil took his time browsing so that Alassëa could talk more with the tanner, but eventually even Alassëa was ready to go. They bid farewell to the tanner and apologized again for having caused so much trouble when they had first arrived, and then they were off once more, to other shops.
They ended up visiting several other shops before heading back to the inn for the evening. Aethos was waiting there, and he immediately whisked Alassëa off for their promised talk.

"I hope everything turns out well," Lin murmured.
While she understood why Alassea was so upset she knew about Aethos' situation better so she could not help but feel more sorry for Aethos.
Regardless though, things did get sorted out (how well Lin wasn't sure until she watched the two), though unfortunately the same could be said about the twins before they left town. The 'evil twin' issue as Miyuki was calling it hadn't been resolved and Lin had actually debated on taking her father's road and simply tracking the damn woman down, but decided against that.
Probably because she was still trying to figure out exactly why the twins were so different and why one of them seemed to lack basic morals. Hopefully nothing bad will happen but she wasn't going to hold her breath for that one, and at the moment she was too distracted by helping pack up again to think strongly on it.
Miyuki on the other hand was having playing before they leave, it was always fun to play with her friends, especially if they were playing with the ever energetic Kaito.
