Theodin watched little Kumiko as she busted through her techniques, throwing simple attacks so she could practice her genjutsu. When she finished, theodin returned her thumbs up, saying "Nice, anything else you wanna try out? If you want a pretty good defensive jutsu for raiton, maybe try this, it's called Rising Storm." Theodin placed his hands on the ground and forced chakra down until bolts of lightning began shoots up from the ground all around him and Kumiko. Standing back up, the jutsu ended. "That technique protects every angle except above, and it takes pretty strong jutsus to break through it. Just a suggestion to add to your defensive techniques."

Kumiko watched Theodin show an example of the jutsu he was talking about and nodded. "Okay! I'll learn that sometime later." Focusing back on her genjutsu training, she picked one that had to do with sound and performed the hand signs while looking into Theo's eyes, small hummingbird shaped figures appearing with a humming noise. The darted in all directions before Kumiko cancelled the jutsu and smiled.

Trying again, Kumiko made the hand signs and looked up at Theo again as the hummingbirds appeared, going towards him again before Kumiko shut off the genjutsu so he wouldn't get hurt.

Kumiko moved on to another genjutsu that had to do with traps. She looked at the suiton scroll and performed hand signs to the object before frowning and canceling out the genjutsu.

Kumiko then tried it again, this time looking at the difficult hand signs in the scroll pictures. When she was finished, she write a short note not to touch the scroll next to the scroll itself.

Looking at another genjutsu technique, Kumiko decided to add this defensive jutsu to her arsenal. She quickly performed the hand gestures and out stretched them towards Theo as a wall of short wooden fence appeared before him. Satisfied, Kumiko searched for more.

Finishing off her long session of training, Kumiko looked at Theodin again and performed a genjutsu that worked on vision. She performed the hand signs as his vision would shatter like a mirror. "Did it work?" She asked before canceling the jutsu and smiling at Theo. "Thanks for helping me train again."

"Thank you but im afraid that learning anything new before my field exam would be a moot point. We should focus on getting your skills up to snuff. Most of the doton stuff from what I've noticed focuses on your connection to the earth, so being able to feel the energy patterns spreading into the ground helps me a little. Im a little bad at doing that with the seals though, dance works better for me. "Aika walked over and started petting nova herself, scratching down his pelt lightly, back and forth with a smile.

Kaori nodded and watched as Nova practically rolled over and begged for tummy scratches, "I swear, most days she acts more canine than feline." She said with a small smile, it was nice to see someone who wasn't afraid of Nova just because she was a huge a** tiger. Like most Ninja companion animals Nova was far bigger than the average tiger, on all fours she stood at Kaori's chest in height. Kaori walked over, "Could we perhaps start out with defensive doton jutsu, Miss Aika?" She asked as she smiled up at the other girl, and she had to do so literally, being only five foot tall Kaori often had to look up to others, unless she was sitting on Nova's back. Kaori smiled slightly, she knew she needed to get up to par with her peers, despite being older than most of the other genin here, she'd had a late start to her training. She would also need to start training in her bloodline jutsu.

"Sure which one would you like to start with. I can help you figure them out. For defensive I actually use hill creation because it gives me material for the field, moves me around, and can give me barriers as well to work with." Aika was being rather generous with her petting, kneeling down and scratching the tigers belly, laying her head on the soft fur and listening to its heartbeat.

Theodin's senses were going crazy from the rapid-fire genjutsu, first he was hearing loud buzzing in his ears like swarms of hummingbirds were coming at him, then he thought he saw a wooden fence pop up in front if him out of nowhere, then suddenly his vision cracked again. When he could see clearly again he realized Kumiko had asked him if the last one worked. "Yea, it worked well, that last one's pretty useful, San caught me with that one during our sparing match, couldn't hardly see anything." Theodin smiled, giving the little medical-nin a thumbs up. "Good job with the training, anything else you want to try before I tell the Professor you're ready for the field?"

"I thik I'm ready now." Kumiko reported to Theodin and then smiled in a confident manner. She felt like she could take on anything that Sanshi would throw at her, which he most likely would.

Theodin gave a quick nod to Kumiko, then walked over to where San was standing. With a quick salute, he reported "Kumiko's set for the field, Professor."

Theodin nodded to the Sanin, "Sure thing, Professor." The young genin turned on his heel and walked back over to Kumiko. "Professor wants us to head over to his house, you're supposed to pick the weeds in the garden while I clean the house. Then we're to meet him and the others at the village gates. Let's get goin', follow me." With that, Theodin headed towards the door and out of the Academy.

Kaori looked through the scroll in her hands for a moment then looked back up at Aika, "Do you know Rock Shield? Or Hidden Earth: Instantaneous Body Skill, or Rock Bump, these all sound useful and I would like to learn these first if you could help me?" She asked politely, it wasn't that she thought Aika was unskilled, obviously she was the exact opposite if Sanshi asked her to train her and Nova, but she merely didn't know what jutsu the other girl knew and didn't know, and really, there was no other way to gain knowledge quickly than to ask.

Doc kept on waiting for San to reply to him. Doc never is one for fighting, so there was no reason for him to do any combat training like the genin were. "San. What do you want me to do." Doc told San, "I'm ready to go do what ever." Doc crossed his arms in wait for San's answer. The only thing that Doc could think of that he could learn was just some simple genjutsu's and the summoning technique. Doc didn't want to do to much, unless it was serious and had to be done.

Kaori listened to Aika as she explained how each of the jutsu were supposed to be activated and used. She nodded and decided to focus Rock Shield first. She crouched down and grabbed the ground, then pulled as she infused it with her chakra, pulling the earth up with her hand. The shield stood for all of a minute before it crumbled [1/2]
Kaori pouted, but she just huffed and took a deep breath and tried again. She'd never get anywhere as a ninja if she gave up at the first failure. Kaori gathered more chakra and pushed it into the ground as she grabbed it and pulled once more, but this time the shield stayed erect, just as she'd intended. [2/2]
Nova let out a happy rumbled as she rubbed up against Aika's legs like an over groan house cat, nearly knocking the poor girl down. Kaori shook her head and chuckled, "I think you have a new life long friend Aika." She teased slightly as she thought about what else she planned on learning. She looked at Aika, remembered what she said about the instantaneous body skill, she nodded to herself, that was her next self appointed task then.
Kaori closed her eyes as she imagined the area around Aika, she'd stick with only attempting a few feet before she tried any crazy distances or something. Kaori focused her chakra into bother herself and the ground as she did the hand sign Aiko said was required for the jutsu to work. She slowly sank into the ground, but only managed to get to about her hips before she got stuck. [1/2]
Kaori blinked, then shook her head and concentrated her chakra more. She sank down, down, down, and then moved through the earth as if she were a part of it. Kaori kept the image of the training room firmly in mind before she let herself move out of the warm embrace of the earth and back up on the surface, behind Aika and Nova. She beamed and clapped her hands, "I did it!" [2/2]
