Uriel can see the huge beast... but he's never seen the likes of it before, so he's still confused, "What is it?"

Orient looks at him. "We'll talk about that if we survive." he says, then he starts shouting out orders to the men.

Uriel tries to not get killed firstly and be useful secondly but he's probably not very useful because he's not that strong and spending a lot of time staying on his feet.

Then, as Orient is yelling an order to one of the crew members, a limb of the kraken comes up and hits him, and he falls overboard.

Without conciously thinking about it, Uriel engages some of his powers. He instantly gains foothold on the ship as his feet are adhered to it by dark energy. With a couple great strides he reaches the edge of the ship himself, and dives over.

Orient hits the water and the cold and pain rip through his body. He struggles to come back up and get his bearings, but the shock is making movement difficult.

Uriel hits the water soon afterwards. He's not the greatest swimmer, but since unleashed his inner magic and it's flowing through him, he's got more strength than normal, so he makes it over to Orient, and then starts trying to drag him through the water towards the side of the ship.

One of the tentcales come up and wraps itself around Orient's leg though, and he kicks to get it off. When that doesn't work, he pulls his sword out of his belt.

Swords can't cut worth s**t through water though, since it takes too much force to move through liquid. Uriel holds out his hand, and half closes his eyes as what to his eyes looks like a beam of brilliant dark purple shoots forth and scatches the tentacle, making it relinquish it's hold, "We need to get to the side of the ship!"

Working together they get close enough to the ship that Uriel can get a hand on it, with his other still around Orient. He adheres immediately, and then looks over to the giant sea creature. Which, eerily enough has one of its eyes trained on them.
Uriel decides getting up high enough that the waves weren't threatening to sweep Orient away would be good, "Hold on to me so I can climb."

Orient slips an arm over Uriel's shoulder, but keeps the other one on his sword. Now that they aren't in the water, he can use it to much more effect. "I read that the only weak part o' their bodies is the eye." Orient informs uriel. "So if we take 'em out, it can't see us, an' we live."

"I can take out the eye." Uriel replies. Since they're out of the water, he can get his feet on the side of the ship too. He keeps his one hand and feet on the side, using his powers to hold him (and by consequence Orient) in place, and then he straightens out his other hand, trying to aim it for the Kraken's eye. It's difficult though, since tentacles are moving quickly in and out of the way.
