Shouyin watched calmly as the shadows about him dispersed and took form behind him once more. He grasped the necklace as it shivered, staring at it blankly before tucking it underneath his t-shirt with the blue gemmed one. The man stood there, looking out to sea as Nocturne consoled him, trying to find some brighter horizon across those watery depths.
Thank you, he didn't speak aloud this time, but the thought was genuine, and certainly the shadow lord would be able to hear such a thing. The half-golem then turned, making his way back down to pier and onto the streets, avoiding the cafe and obvious signs of destruction that people were now looking upon worriedly. Tugging out the blue necklace, he stared at the soft glow, wishing it'd be little more direct in its guidance towards the water guardian.
"... Where am I s'posed to go now?"

((Repost from Isle de Gambino))
They wouldn't be bothered again for quite some time, and those who had witnessed the bloody melee avoided the dangerous couple. After buying a ticket and boarding the ferry, the rest of the day went by uneventfully. The ferry pulled out of port half an hour later and made its way along the Gaian coast to the town of Latent, taking a little over an hour to make the trip.
Kaiser had changed his mind about abandoning Adrienne once reaching the town, on the fact that a friend like her could come in quite handy, especially if this treasure hunt he planned to go on turned out to be more dangerous than he could handle. Treasure hunts usually were, if the stories the bards always told of them were as true as they made them seem. If not for the vicious fangs and petrifying gaze, he might even find himself to be attracted to her - at least until she tried eating him. Kaiser told Adrienne everything he knew about the quest he saw on the bulletin, and the person who lived in Latent that posted it that he planned on seeing.
"Seeing as how you've saved my life twice now, I guess I owe it to you to tell you the truth. I don't really know anyone in Latent. In fact, the only reason I'm so determined on getting to Latent is to find this person that posted a request on the bulletin board to find some lost pirate's treasure. If I can find that treasure, I could pay off The Man and no longer have to worry about looking over my shoulder, and probably make a good profit off of it as well. You're invited to join me on this quest, if you want. Maybe you'll find what you're looking for as well."

:: One of lifes greatest question, "Where do I go next?". Except for poor Shouyin the answer of that question also decided the fate of countless people he had never met. Night had fallen and the streets were quieting down. Only the occasional villager trotting by to make a night run. Homes were starting to glow, as the lights inside turned on and people made there way to the dinner table. It seemed all trail of Enki had gone cold. And that was when Shouyin stumble upon god. Another god. Or rather, an advertisement for another god. It was high above the streets on a large glowing billboard. One of those very cheesey church slogans.:: Find peace for thy nieghbor.
Find prosperity for thy self.
Find the Leviathan.
Sunday Mass, Durem Branch of the Church of Leviathan.

"Now you tell me the truth. It'sss alright, it'sss not like I didn't already know you jussst wanted a ticket for the ferry." She shook her head. Really, she'd been trying to get him to admit the truth since before they left the tavern. Ah well, at least she had finally gotten it out of him.
Her bloodlust sated, she seemed to be much more calm than before, like a snake basking in the sun. She looked up at him rather lazily and if her eyes were uncovered, one might have noticed that her eyes were half-closed. Yes, Adri was quite content.
"I have to tell you, I don't jussst accompany people on adventuresss. I accompany my massster on adventuresss. You have two choicesss. Either you claim me asss your own or we part waysss. When you wish to be rid of me, merely sssay ssso and I will leave and ssseek a new massster."

Shouyin heaved his shoulders, tucking both necklaces away and shoving his hands in his pockets as he started walking down the sidewalk. The sign was obvious enough, and he had no other leads, so all that was left was to catch his ride. He swallowed a cough as he began to quicken his pace, feeling a little uncomfortable all alone in the big city like this. It reminded him of a time he didn't want to be reminded of, a time that seemed to continuously haunt him.
Eventually he'd reach the car shop, just about to close, and would hurriedly sign all the papers and pay the fee. Then, grabbing a leather jacket out of his duffel bag and pulling it overtop his t-shirt, he'd hop in his restored Impala, speeding off into the night with the window open and the radio playing softly.
Back to the place where that time had settled.

An ultimatum. What an irony that someone such as her would give something like that. Still, Kaiser didn't mind, and he could use the company.
"Hmm, fair enough I suppose. I've never exactly done this before, mind you, so you'll have to forgive me if I do things a little differently. I am your master then. Are there any rules to go by, or do you just do anything I tell you to?"
That was that. Now, they just had to find this person who posted the bill for the treasure hunt. Locksmith Dorothy was her name, and judging by the title, the most obvious place to start looking for her would be a shop that sells locks and makes keys. Once the ferry made port, Kaiser would find out if there were any shops that sold locks, and if there weren't, he would just ask where he could find Locksmith Dorothy.

"Generally I do anything you tell me too. I will dance, cook, clean, pamper, kill and everything in between for you. I will remain loyal to you until you releassse me or die. I offer only three bitsss of information to you before I go into ssservitude. I do not enjoy doing sssexual favorsss, but I will if commanded. If you requessst it, I will give my opinion on any matter that troublesss you. If not given ssspecific ordersss, I will act asss I deem necesssary to ensssure, firssst, your sssafety, and sssecond, my own."
To some people, that might have seemed completely out of bounds for a slave, but Adri had been a slave long enough to know that some masters did care about personal preferences and that some masters preferred a slave that could think for themselves when the need arose. What use was a slave that wouldn't defend their master unless ordered? Half the time, by the time the master could even issue the order, he or she was already dead anyway. Adri merely wanted to touch all the bases since Kaiser seemed to be new.
"Alssso, it would help me to know whether you prefer I remain sssilent until ssspoken to or if I may ssspeak freely. After that, you're free to ssset in place any other rulesss that you wish."

Owle Isohos Owle was relieved, but also guilty. Whether this was because Knights was carrying her, or because she hadn't fully confessed yet, she wasn't sure. The floodgates had been opened, and she felt like she could just spill out everything right now... But she was scared, and more than a little ashamed. With the world teeter-tottering around her, the only thing that seemed stable were the arms holding her. Even the face above her seemed to sway out of focus now and again. "I was going to ask you the same thing," Owle replied, holding onto him more for the comfort of holding onto something than because she feared she would fall. "Not unless you count a clearing in Barton Forest, that's not too far from the stadium. But the only building I ever called home is in Gambino, and that's a long walk." Lucind was Vahn's friend, not hers, and she'd left the key to Vahn's room in the stadium inside said room. She had no connections around here except a wildcat by the name of Yellow, and he wasn't particularly helpful in finding human lodgings...if he was even still around. Owle closed her eyes. "Thank you." She listened to his footsteps on the sand, trying to ignore the throbbing in her head, real or imagined. Her eyes soon opened again...she felt safer knowing what was around her, even if she trusted Knights to protect her. He had tried to keep her safe when she was nothing to him, probably worse than nothing if he suspected what had happened between her and Vahn. Now that she was so important to the portal, she didn't think he was going to let any harm befall her. "Hey, can I..." Slowly, she lifted up her right arm, careful not to make him drop her. "Can I shift with this on?" she asked, indicating the armlet. "I could make myself easier to carry." Soft brown eyes beseeched him; although Owle's current discomfort was his fault, she didn't feel right being a burden to him. "Unless you want to make the dizzyness worse, I wouldn't suggest it. This is the only set of clothes I have, and it wouldn't be too good if they got sick all over them."There was no burden, she was no heavier then Jean, and Knights wasn't exactly someone that couldn't handle it. His pace was even. " I've got a place for you, it's not technically ours, but it's safe, and it won't be too troublesome, after a nap you'll recharge and be able to do as you like..."He started to head townwards.

"Alright."
And with that simple response, Owle lay back again, trying to relax and ignore the fact that the world was spinning around her and she was in the arms of one who was more or less a complete stanger to her. She partially succeeded.
"This place...can I ask where it is?"

"You may speak freely, until I say otherwise," Kaiser said, trying to get a feel for this new role he has suddenly took. He was starting to like it, he thought. "Come along, then. We have to find this locksmith and talk to her about her bill."
Walking through the streets of Latent, it would take Kaiser a few tries to find someone who knew where they could find Dorothy, and after that, a short while to find the place, after getting lost a couple of times. The locksmith shared her space with the blacksmith, making it so that after someone got themselves some metalwork finished, they could turn around and buy some locks and keys afterward. Dorothy was busy away at cutting some teeth into a new key when Kaiser stepped inside, cringing slightly from the high pitched noise given off by the machine used to cut teeth into the key. She cut it off when she noticed him enter the shop.
"Somethin' I can do for ya'?" she asked.
"We're here about your bill, the treasure hunting one, with the Water Terrors," Kaiser replied.

Adrienne naturally fell into place just behind Kaiser and a little to the side as she followed him in silence. She really didn't have much to talk about at the moment. Though as they passed the blacksmith to get to the locksmith, a thought crossed her mind that she would address before they left. It would take some time to gather the supplies needed to travel on this little adventure and to make all the perparations, so she might have some time to do what she wanted.

"Eh? S'just a safehouse we use sometimes. Jean and I have been staying there, it's comfy, if you can get used to the smell..."
In point of fact they were coming up to the door even as he spoke. It was a peaceful little sidestreet, obviously not far from the beach, and which ended in a tidy cul-de-sac. The houses weren't too expensive looking, but they weren't exactly run down either.
He shifted Owle's small form and reached into a pocket, pulling out a key and making his way in, trying not to be too embarassed about carrying a woman over the threshold, Henry would have laughed...so would have Sun for that matter.
The smell he was talking about was deep, and sweet. Licorice and something else, something that stuck to the senses. It made the house warm and inviting. Everything could fall under the catagory of being either soft or plush, and coloured in chocolates and cream. It was fairly clean with only a scattering of papers strewn about to show that anyone had been here.
Knights gently sat Owle down on the couch, which she'd sink into.

"Ah, yes, the teasure," Dorothy said, remembering about the bill she had posted some time ago. It was about time someone came along to answer it, but with all the other action going on around Gaia, quests had been set on the back burner.
"It's just as you read on the bill. Even though they had been killed and likely devoured by a Water Terror, their spirits may still haunt the site of their death. All you have to do it talk to them and find out where they put the treasure, but you won't be able to until you take care of the Water Terror, no doubt."
"Right..." Kaiser nodded his head, then rubbed his chin, thinking, "So, looks like there'll be some magic involved. You wouldn't happen to be a necromancer, would you, Adrienne?"

The smell?
Owle was about to say something comforting, about how she was sure she wouldn't mind, but then they were at the door. She decided to reserve judgement until she actually understood what he was talking about.
The smell was wonderful, like a candy store, and the couch was soft and comfy...
She clung to the couch cushion with both hands as he sat her down upright, the change in position temporarily worsening her dizziness. Then her body relaxed, and she let herself lean back, her light brown eyes staring up at Knights.
"It smells nice..."
She knew that there was more to say, more to ask, though she didn't know how to say it or even where to start.
"Thanks...for bringing me here." She began hesitantly. She didn't want to talk about how Jean and Vahn and Sunstrike were doing; she and Knights couldn't know, and she didn't want to force him to reassure her that things would be okay when she doubted he believed it.
But she didn't know what else to talk about. "So...the two of you have been here for a while?"

"No sssir, I kill thingsss, I don't raissse them." Adrienne replied. Her gaze seemed to be wandering around the shop, looking over various objects.
