Elric brushed a kiss to his granddaughter's forehead. "Get some more rest, Raven." He brushed at her hair, moving fallen tendrils away from her face before moving for the door.
Raven wanted to find out what made her home seem so different in such a short time but she did what her grandfather told her to do. She stayed put, despite not being sleepy. She was tired still...but not sleepy.
Elric left the room, seeking the solace the gardens provided, glad there was another entry to the place. The feelings he was sensing in the house was enough to make his fur and hair stand up on edge.
He also wasn't ready to face his patron, sitting on the floor crying. To Elric, that wasn't his demonic patron...He slipped away outside, walking into the sunlight and feeling it's warmth on his cooled skin. He stood there, soaking it up before he wandered to the gardens, seeking the solace and silence it offered...
More scents filled the air, two of them not flowers. One was dragon and the other was bird...The wolf shifted his read gaze about, seeking the two out. He only saw the dragon so he continued looking until he looked down, seeing the bird enjoy herself as she continued to curl up in the flowers as though it was the safest thing in the world.

Lost in thought as he was, he still managed to notice Elric, albeit, late.
"we have company"
He whispered to Zaro before turning to face Elric and bowing in respect to the wolf.

Elric bowed his head to the dragon whilst he watched a ruffle of feathers fly up and a young girl sat up quickly, the deer caught in the headlights look on her face as they stared at each other, his relaxed.
He couldn't help but chuckle a little bit as she visually relaxed but scuttled closer to Andras. He came closer, his hands outstretched before him. "Forgive me, my lady. I didn't mean to startle you."
Zaro blushed as she bowed to Elric. She reconized the ruler easily.. he was well known to her. She often heard stories about him and none could forget his pale face and brooding eyes.
"My lord..." She whispered, half fearing the worst.
Elric shook his head. He wasn't going to hurt her. He never did like it to begin with.

His face showed suprise that Elric would acknowledge him, after all, their status was miles apart. Though the suprise quickly changed to a smile as the wolf addressed Zaro, obviously, he had no idea of Zaro's standing in the food chain and Andras guessed that it was a good thing for now, Zaro needed all the encouragement she could get.
Zaro's actions spoke louder than her words would though, and despite not believing Elric to be a threat, he manuvered himself into a position so as to protect the bird if need be.
"if you would like, we'll leave the gardens to you, Sir"

Elric shook his head, giving the white waves a little shake. "That won't be nessecary, Andras. There's plenty of garden for the three of us."
Zaro peeked up at the wolf, her eyes just that mixture of fear and awe. She was before the famous woman-slayer, kin-slayer, every name imaginable for this man and yet he wasn't harming her or the dragon.

"thank you Sir"
He was grateful that Elric did not mind them in the gardens, after all, the gardens seemed to have done Zaro some good.
Looking at Zaro though, he wondered if she just had a problem with people who had power or if she knew Elric.
"do you know Lord Elric, Zaro?"
He asked, smiling at the bird. He knew Elric as Alexis great grandfather and knew him to be a wise man.

How Elric wish he were the wise man. He had far too many crimes on his hands to be washed away, some making his heart heavier then it should have been.
Zaro blinked before looking to Andras. "He is Elric, the Last Emperor of Melnibone...There have been stories of him spread throughout the lands...."

The confusion on his face was quickly hidden as he dropped to a knee, face looking down, infront of Elric.
"forgive a foolish dragon for not realising he was in the presence of an emperor, Lord"
He had truly not known who Elric really was. He knew Elric was nobility but hadn't really known the man that well.

Elric sighed.
"Get up both of you."
He had left that title long ago....but it never left him. Nor had his many other titles.
Zaro squeaked and looked up at him, her littler body finding shelter near Andras.
Elric didn't mean to frighten the poor bird again but he spoke anyway. "What is a pretty bird like you doing in such a position anyway? It was never part of the Lady Fileet's agreement."
Zaro watched him. "I was born into the position, my lord.."

He got up at Elric's request only to notice Zaro was hiding once again behind him.
"Zaro, he means you no harm"
He assured the bird, uncertain why Elric of all people would strike this much fear into her.

Elric turned to Andras with a sad smile before it faded.
"She has every right to fear me...She's timid and I've been known to slay my kin, women..." He revealed to the dragon. True he hadn't done such things in so long but that didn't mean his reputation didn't forget.

Song let her humming go on until she could no longer find a sequence to continue with. She silenced for a moment, still holding her beloved, still stroking his hair....and finding her contempt for the young incubus steadily rising. He was the source of Ariochs pain. The mother within her automatically despised anything that hurt those she cared for. Still, she couldn't let others know. It wasn't her nature to feel hate....but there it was, coursing through her blood.
"Tell me.......tell me what I can do...." She spoke barely above a whisper, unable to find a firm voice, "...Please.."
"A whole lot of drama..." Jealousy spoke softly, not even opening her eyes as she heard her friend speak and felt her move. A smirk crossed her face, though. "Song is enviously hating your dad.....and the venom is getting more potent." She couldn't help but chuckle. The growing feelings that her guardian muse were experiencing were a delicious treat for the demoness.

"my Lord, her master tasked me to keep her safe"
He knew he was no match against Elric. Teaching forbade him from stricking a superior and his own nature was not that of a fighter, if there was a need to protect Zaro, then he'd fail her for sure. It did not mean he could not warn Elric of what he'd been asked to do and that he'd do his very best despite the consequences to keep her safe.
"and I would very much like it if Zaro did not have more people to be afraid of than she already does"

"Of course," he whispered softly, kneeling to take the bird's hand who visibly tensed at such a reaction. His ears went back in a nonthreatening way, his tail relaxed as he was.
"I cannot harm you, Zaro..."
Zaro...the name sounded familiar, rather similar to another female he had loved..
Zaro shuddered as her hand tightened on his, feeling the rough strength in them. His weakened blood seemed to have been a lie... She feared him, but she was in more awe of Elric.
Alexis blinked. "My father?" She tilted her head to the side. Song jealous of her father? But why? she wondered.
"What damage has he done this time?" She asked, watching her friend, lilac eyes shimmering with her confusion.
Arioch shook his head, his grip loosening a little.
"There isn't anything anyone can do..."
He murmured softly.

Hearing those words, Song felt her anger surge. It was a task to keep it contained. So many hateful thoughts came forth, all that she had to push away. She couldn't let this consume her.
"I'm not talking about him...." She said softly, her hold on him tightening, but still gentle. "What can I do to help you? To make this pain ease or go away completely?"
Jealousy finally opened her eyes to look into her dear friends lilac eyes, the grin still obvious on her face. She couldn't hide such inabashed enjoyment at feeling someones venom-laced pain.
"Near as I can tell, he's just about thrown Arioch to the side and, as such, is causing him a great deal of pain." Her cheeks began to glow slightly, like she had been drinking a fine wine. "The more Arioch hurts, the more Song hates Joe....mostly because he has a strong hold on his heart that she'll never have."
Did she care that she was spilling what was supposed to be a personal secret to the muse? Of course not. This was a marvelous dessert for her.
