eek omg... I have been on pins and needles about this. We already bought our tickets for the midnight showing of may 18th wednesday @ 12:01 am. xd I've been contributing to my youngest brothers need to buy more action figures... [lol... he's like 17 and is buying figures everymonth] so, the last time he was at my work buying them... i gave him some money and let him use my employee discoutn... twisted so now he is going to come to my house and spend the night here while we go to see star wars. i might have to call off of work that day. or maybe not if i don't have to go in until later...

but they have all these little "movie scrapbooks" at my work. and i am constantly fighting a seductive temptation to read them... sweatdrop I started to look at one; and then this guy from the Rzone saw me. He was like, "I wouldn't read that if I were you. You're gonna ruin the experience for yourself if you do it." gonk He's so right.. but damn... geez... and they have this huge feature shop up front with this huge cardboard vader helmet. omg... it's like.... I'll have to see what i can do to let them let me have one of the smaller ones on the trivia pursuit standee... ninja

hmm... been a while since i did some anime checks with you guys here. On demand, we watched all the episodes of chobits from like.... 17 on i think, have been keeping up with NGE, been watching slayers, Yucie [also known as the pretty princess candidate to some], and what i'm really on now... is PEACEMAKER. This series is really good. I am so enjoying it. Saw three episodes on Anime Network. Next time i see this dude at work, I'm like you watch it yet. he tells me he actually bought the first three volumes. This is really somethign cuz this guy pretty much rents/borrows all his anime and burns himself a library. So, the fact he's buying all of these is an indicator that this will be a good find for me. so i borrowed all 3... watched them in two days.. xd so then the fourth volume just came out in mid april... and he says there is another volume due out in about a few weeks. and i was like... YES! not really sure who my fav chars in it are. I really enjoy the variety of characters to be honest... i like the girl who is non verbal.. and i like the threesome of guys who are always harrassing the kid.

and I've made it up to collecting fruits basket mangas. I switched to just ordering them directly from Tokyopop as it was getting bloody annoying to go store to store every week that new vol's were released. Now i get mine same day the stores get theirs. I didn't put in an order for June's release of volume nine yet.. I might have to wait and see if my sister will get that one. june is naaman's birthday. and my brother's birthday..

I love it because of all the great memories and sentiments attached to it- we used to watch those movies with my dad and really get into them- it was such ground breaking cinema at the time- a real cult classic.

I had a friend introduce me to the OT when I was in sixth grade and it was our thing, we knew a lot about the world and it's really pivitol for my development as a fantasy/sci-fi writer (That and the Belgriad by David Eddings and the Magic Kingdom series by Terry Brooks). I mean I'm a Star Wars geek...seriously.

I do think a lot of fans over emotionalize the OT. Because when looked at with a critical eye I mean George Lucas has been doing the SAME s**t from the beginning. I mean everyone flipped over JarJar as being total cheese...but I mean come on EWOKS? really think about it? We had a huge dark movie in Empire and then all of a sudden we're all cute and cuddly and beating up storm troopers with sticks and rocks. Storm troopers who in this next movie will probably be handing it to Jedi and Wookies but can't take some damn ewoks.

All I'm saying is I like the movies, I like all of them, one and two didn't bother me, in fact in my opinon 25 minutes of that film from the part where Mace Windu says "This party is over" and light sabers light up across the colluseum is THE best 25 minutes in all of the SWs movies seeing all the Jedi ignite their light sabers made me giddy. I think three will be even better because all of our exposition and "Oh is he REALLY evil or is it just teen angst" bs will be out of the way and we can get down to the Obi-Wan/Darth dueling. Also I'm excited to see how Amidala and Anikin's relationship plays out because we all know she hid the twins from him, but I mean she loves him...so that'll be neat if they handle that tension right.
