With that kind of hand formation, it was just asking to be screwed with. Up came Ronald's left leg to knock the uppercut offcourse from Ronald's face, but also change the course to be such that Rain's right arm collides with his left one from under, with the same momentum that the uppercut originally had, to try and screw with the gripping on Ronald's weapon. The half-elf no likey this man touching his toy.

After the offcoursing, the same leg would bring down hard upon the inside of the back of Rain's lower portion of right knee area. Intent being to severely disrupt his balance in this defense made offense.

This was better.

This was far better!

Maximos and Ruuvan, in the flesh.

Everything according to plan. A wide sweep for most fighters meant clearing space, but Ruuvan. Ruuvan was on the attack, the offensive, and Maximos counted on that. He had rolled but only enough to set up for another attack.

It was impressive! Maximos followed suit. The best defense was a further offense. His torso turned at the hips as it led the fierce cut. But as Ruuvan moved to attack, Maximos was moving to face him so did the shadow. He gritted his teeth, and shoved off his right leg, then his left, stomping forward at the ranger before him.

His right arm joined his left on the hilt making the swing faster, and harder, sooner than expected. Meanwhile his left leg screamed in an ignored protest. He hadnt time for pain. Right now he was lunging forward, and slashing twice as hard as the moment before. The sudden shift and increase in his motion causing Ruuvans slash to miss instead grazing Maximos' shoulder, while sending the flat of Ankokuko at him, like a baseball bat.

As Rain grabbed ahold the staff, Ronald's knee would come up between them, interfering with the uppercut he attempted to throw. Though it really wouldn't knock his arm into the other one enough to force it to let go, he wasn't really capable of stopping the downward backstomp that was Ronald's followthrough.

Rain's knee would buckle from the strike, forcing him to begin to descend to a one-kneed kneeling position. At the last moment though, he would catch himself, hovering just barely over the nonexistant ground. Time for plan B! Get this psycho off hir feet, so the scythe is no longer a viable option!

His right hand had been deflected, but after the followthru on Ronald's behalf, it was never truly impeded. He would reach out and snatch up Ronald's leg just beneath the knee with his right hand before she could return it to the ground, and limit her to a one-legged stance.

"GggrrrrRRRAAAAAAHHHHHH!!!" he would shout loudly, pumping himself up to spring forward from his almost-kneel, his body checking up against Ronald's and trying to use his 230+ weight to force the half-elf backwards in a one-legged hop. And hopefully, if things went according to plan (B), onto hir back where he would have her in a mount!

Slight problem with Plan B. Donald wasn't done with his leg fu combo yet. Given the positioning as to how the knee-deflect and leg of wrath moves were done, this would naturally leave his attacking leg bent a la the knee. Given the leg of wrath move working would set Rain up for this next attack involving Donald's actual foot more than the rest of his leg. Or alteast a little above it. Whichever was right position of foot.

Rain was right in trying to deal with the leg, but he chose poorly in how to deal with it. For Donald would be to straighten his entire leg outward as much as possible. With resulting being el nutshot devastation attempt in this leg combo during Rain's grab attempt.

It wasn't that Rain had chosen poorly; he just thought he would have time to grab the leg in the duration of kneeing his arm to stomping the back of his leg to moving back around to kick him, is all. Apparently he misjudged his opponent's speed, and for a martial artist that focused more on speed than power, this was alarming.

Though, he was not helpless. The positioning of Rain's upper body had been at a forward slant, due to being forced to almost a one-knee position. As he would stand and push off with his leg, it would grant him a few crucial inches above the leg, avoiding the incoming blow.

His right hand had gone to attempt to grab Ronald's left knee from earlier, so it was already at his right side. Still holding onto the scythe's pole with one hand, he would suddenly yank it towards his right (Ronald's left) to try to unbalance hir. He would then bring his right hand up, around wide, palming the side of Ronald's face.

It wouldn't end there, though. With a lightning-quick counter-clockwise quarter turn of his left foot, he would continue the follow-through of the palm, looking to use the momentum, and Ronald's one-legged stance, to continue through with the blow. Rain was arcing wide and fierce, looking to forcably slam Ronald's cranium into whatever constituted as ground here.

The objective was to get Ronald unbalanced, before s/he could go for more crotch blows, possibly from knees.

Ruuvan's blade met shoulder and came through, though the shadow had shifted and was once again hurling an attack at him. The flat of the blade, a non-lethal strike but one that would still hurt like a mother. Not to mention a broken nose or something along those lines.

It was coming for his head, Ruuvan quickly ducked it in and practically sat on his legs to lower his stance and avoid the swing. A silly move given the position the legs were in, now they were crossing over one another and rather vulnerable, but as far as he was concerned, Maximos was now open and Ruuvan had his right blade ready to strike. One swift move brought a powerful thrust aiming to stab straight into his foe's chest.

Given new positioning, his 'straightened out foot' would be between Rain's legs and a little close to his a** toe-wise.

Mr. Yankie was countered midyank with an equal force in the opposing direction. The result being Donald's body was still 'center', but his now arms were now a bit more Rain's 'rightward' in direction, but not moving. What did this earn Rain?

A lightning quick upwarding ( and will still go upwards if he decides to move a few inches up again ) of Donald's foot for yet another opportuned crotch shot while the punch was still in very beginning stages. Would Rain be able to dodge this bullet like he did the first?

Post stops here due to the damage that could be caused would pretty much stop the other stuff from happening. If not, they will be dealt with next post.

Hrk-!

Maximos saw it. Ruuvan was already kneeling, because he was exiting a rolling, and had even jabbed his other sword into the ground. Something he could not do standing up.

But he was moving to go even lower, and stab.

That would require moving far closer than Maximos was going to allow.

Right arm, it was strong, very strong. And while his body was fully into the motion of the swing, his arm could fight it. And it did, it had the strength to bring the sword to a stop, though not the strength to bring it all the way back in time.

Either way, just as it zoomed over Ruuvans head there was a rumbling grunt from Maximos' chest as sparks danced down the armored limb and dragged it back. He twisted at the hip, trying his best to drag the sword down in time but failing.

Instead, he managed to turn himself just enough to dodge a stab, but get a nice clean slice across his midsection.

Ruuvan however, committed to a slash, and now sitting on his legs denying him any mobility as he was so very close to the ground, would have Maximos' right...armored...and super power elbow, come forth aiming to slam into the side of his head....needless to say....very hard.

It was a gamble, one which he had just lost. Now he was sat on his legs, his thrust missing to simply slice across Maximos' midsection, and a metal elbow powering into the side of his skull. It was a wonder the freaking thing didn't cave his head in, but it definitely sent him off.

Stars burst in his vision, darkness was all he could see; the elbow landed and sent Ruuvan crashing down onto his side. Momentum carried him over a few times, a few feet away from Maximos, where he quickly attempted to get himself sorted. Blood streamed from a huge gash on the left side of his face. Stars still danced about, objects blurred leaving him unable to focus. He hoped it would not last forever.

Shakily he got to his feet, both blades still ins his hand, though his stance completely off. Can anyone say concussion? e swayed about, both swords at his side, eyes trying to focus on Maximos. Would he even have a chance for his vision to return to normal?

The simple answer, was yes.

Maximos had just taken deep into his leg, possibly against the bone, and now a cut across his gut. He was flesh and blood, which meant blood loss mattered. It mattered a great deal, and like this the shadow was going to be using it up like it was going out of style.

He reached his left hand down, tugging at what seemed like the air, and bringing up a length of shadow like a ribbon which he wrapped around his midsection covering the length of the cut.

Max was grinning.

He let Ruuvan get his bearings, he let him get his footing. Maximos stood tall, cracked his back, licked blood off his fingers, and tossed his sword back and forth between hands, before finally placing it in his left hand. His right fist clenching and opening, letting out the shrill screech of metal grinding on metal.

Ruuvan

Until his vision came back into focus, all Ruuvan could see was a blur about as a tall as a man. It wasn't moving towards him as far as he could tell.

The elf slid his right sword from his hand, planting the tip on the floor and leaving the blade against his leg. He brought his hand to his head, to the large gash on the side where the armoured elbow had hit. A pale light spread from his fingertips and meshed over the cut, soon dissipating to leave the gash completely sealed. That would help with any blood problems, but his vision was still blurred and a few stars were bursting here and there.

A few moments longer, right sword back in his hand again, and his focus was back. Still a little shaky on his feet, that would recover quicker once it started again, but otherwise good. Ruuvan drew a slow, deep breath, his eyes locking onto Maximos as soon as he was able to make him out.

The elf took a step forward, night in the forest instantly switching to day with the noon sun high in the sky. Another step and it immediately flicked back to night. That second of sunlight seemed to have an impact on him, his stride sped up as he closed the gap between himself and the shadow. When close enough, he swung with his left sword, coming wide from the outside in a horizontal motion. Not exactly an amazing strike considering the rest of their fight, but there ya go.

Maximos was waiting.

Maximos was watching.

He caught the flash of sun light, and he knew what wonders light did for the elf. He wasnt foolish enough to give his all in defense and only open up another hole in his defenses. But he was smart enough to be standing close enough to the base of a tree to caught in or very near its shadow.

He cemented his stance, holding Ankokuko in his left hand, with its blade angeled to the ground, and leaving his right hand screeching by his right side. His fingers stopping only as the elf started to swing.

Maximos' defense was as simple as the attack he was given. He brought his arm up.

Ruuvan's left blade collided with the deep black metal raining violet sparks from the contact points as it gritted along the bands of metal that formed the Twilight Gauntlet. Maximos' right arm. And the Shadow, with a certain silent and cold, yet smiling intensity looked Ruuvan clear in the eyes. His right eye shown a bright white, cutting through the night.

And as soon as Ruuvan's blade met with the metal arm he took another step forward, grinding the blade against the metal whilst pushing forward. It was another fairly simple move, simply adjusting his previous attack to go with what was there. The blade tip was moving to pierce the shadow.

Ruuvan had a slight slack in his posture, not fully recovered from the blow earlier. Maybe not permanent damage, but definitely something temporary in the background.

The fundamentals are oft the best and strongest weapons any warrior can wield. There may not have been explosions of light and shadow, or wholes being ripped across and through existence but that did not mean these men were not intently locked in combat.

Metal sheened and screamed as slash turned to stab, Maximos quickly flipped his wrist turning his arm to grab hold of the offending blade. His fingers, covered in metal as they were gave a much sterner grip, and were far harder to pull free from. It would be like clashing against another sword, but one that could bend and wrap around ones own.

It wouldnt be enough to immediately stop the attack, but it managed to drag it to a halt a few inches from the Shadow. Metal digits would be clasped just above the hilt.

Attack and defense are brethren.

As Maximos gripped the sword, confident in his defense, his left arm swung his own sword. He brought Ankokuko down, from upper left to lower right in a fierce swing.

His midsection screamed, protesting the motion of torn skin, while his leg burned as it was leaned up. But the Shadow seemed only to smile wider.

Ruuvan did not stop pushing his blade as Maximos grabbed it, he thought that was what would happen, so maintaining constant force would take its toll.

He saw the blade come at him and brought his right sword up to meet the blow. He was not aiming to divert it, simply stop and lock the blade in place. As soon as the swords met, Ruuvan immediately kicked with his right leg, aiming to get Maximos' corresponding kneecap.
