Wow, trouble really does follow this girl like a Girafarig's tail doesn't it? It was a lot to take in, and with each sentence, he felt more and more the act of smearing this Maorde character across the wall would be a great service to not only Nina, but everyone else. "Boyfriend? I must meet this Raimundo." Mike smiled, wondering what he was like.

The problem came when the name Anna was in the same sentence as this bothersome Maorde. Captured? Not on his watch. Out of all of Nina's Pokemon, Anna was easily his favorite, she was always so nice. Hopefully when they get her back his friend would use her more, there was alot of potential for a strong Pokemon there. But enough speculation, Nina needed his help, and his help she would get.

"Don't worry Nina, we'll get Anna back." Mike lifted up a hand and crunched it into a fist. "We'll show that old man not to mess with one of my friends!"

Nina smiled a little bit, and kind of rolled her eyes. "Typical of you, Mike. Always the superhero in my group of friends. I've missed that." She laughed a little bit, her spirits raising somewhat. "So, tell me! Anything new with you? Any new captures you've made recently that I don't know about?"

Wow. That could potentially be my worst post ever.

Damnit, Keegan grumbled, even though he couldn't hear Roland's order. The telltale streak of light following the oddly coloured Sentret was enough to tell him the Pokemon was using Quick Attack.

Artemis, being in the middle of performing her Endeavor attack, could do nothing to avoid the speeding Furret as it barreled towards her. The Swellow let out a pained shriek as the pink Pokemon knocked her out of the air, and she landed heavily on the wooden planked floor, and quivered a bit before becoming still.

Keegan was ignorant to the crowd's reaction to Artemis's defeat as he held up a steady hand to recall her, silently thanking the Swellow for her efforts in the battle. She'd handled Aipom exceptionally well, and he was glad for sending her into the fray. He clipped her Pokeball back into its place on his belt, thinking for a moment over who he should send out next. He didn't think Tierra would be a wise choice, for he didn't think he could afford to have her provoked to actually fight back. Then, smiling, he held up Althena's Pokeball, and released the eager Psyduck, knowing she hadn't been into many battles recently either.

Althena appeared before him, waving her arms and tail around happily as she took in the sights around her. Then, she spotted her opponent, and her yellow beak curved into a smile. "Let's show them what you can do, Althena!" the redhead called out to his Pokemon, who tilted her head and nodded. Now Keegan figured that using Surf in such a small area could be disastrous for everyone, so he decided to stay away from that attack for now. "Okay then, give that Furret at taste of your Water Pulse!"

Stepping forward, the Psyduck opened her mouth and let a pulsating blast of water fly forward. She was confident she could do this, and she wouldn't let Keegan down.

Roland hadn't been expecting Keegan to send out a Psyduck, but right away he could tell that he shouldn't underestimate the Duck Pokemon. "Defense Curl, Furret!" he called, knowing it wouldn't reduce the damage, but it would help to protect against any physical attacks the Duck may send their way. Curling its long body about it, Furret compacted her size into less than half of her normal length as the rings of water sloshed up against her. When the attack had finished, she uncurled herself, shaking drops of water from her fur and looking rather dazed.

Wait... Water Pulse has a chance of causing confusion! Roland silently chided himself, looking hopefully at the pink striped Furret. She blinked a few times and looked to her trainer, her eyes focused and alert. "All right Furret, fight back! Use Fury Swipes!" he called. Her ears went flat against her head, and the Long Body Pokemon dashed forward, her claws ready to strike.

Althena braced herself for the attack, but even that did little to soften the Furret's onslaught of attacks. The Psyduck lost count of how many times Furret's claws found her plushy flesh, and when it was finally over, the aquatic Pokemon stumbled back; having been subjected to at least one critical hit. Angry red scratch marks were now visible all over the front of her body, and she shook with a mixture of fear and rage. Keegan felt himself flinching from the sight of the attack alone - he silently hoped it hadn't been as bad as it had looked.

"Hang in there, girl! You can do it!" he encouraged. Althena's shaking managed to stop, but her rage did not subside. "Ice Beam! Now!"

Holding her head in her hands, Althena opened her mouth wide as a frosty, glowing ray of icy energy was sent onward, aiming for the offending Furret once more.

Roland didn't even have time to try and tell his Pokemon to dodge the Ice Beam; she'd still been advancing towards her opponent, claws ready to strike once more when the attack had been launched, and she was caught, point blank, by the icy burst.

For a heart-stopping moment, Roland thought it had ended right at that moment. However, Furret wasn't finished yet, and she shook her body once more, sending chips of water and ice flying everywhere. Her right side, including her shoulder, was numb in places thanks to the Ice Beam, but thankfully, she hadn't been frozen solid.

"Your Psyduck is tough," Roland called over the massive cheers. "You wouldn't be interested in a trade, now would you? Furret, Slam attack! Go!"

Growling, Furret ran forward once more, pivoting on her forepaws and spinning quickly, her long and powerful tail aiming to connect.

"Heh, not a chance!" Keegan scoffed, dismissing Roland's sudden offer with a wave of his hand. "I wouldn't trade her for anything!"

His comment made Althena's heart swell with pride, and she was able to sidestep most of the Slam attack. Powerful as it was, it was rather inaccurate, and Althena grimaced as the Furret's tail slammed the ground, glad she hadn't taken the full force of the blow.

Glancing over her shoulder, the Psyduck waited for her next command, being sure to keep her eyes on her slender-bodied opponent.

"Disable!" Keegan hollered, now becoming slightly annoyed that he had to compete with so many people for his Pokemon to hear him. "Let's have no more of that, now shall we?"

Althena's eyes shone with a light purple hue as she attempted to enter the mind of her foe, and temporarily disable the knowledge of the powerful slam attack.

Kilik entered the Gym shortly behind Mike, a bright smile appearing on his face when he saw Nina. She was a welcome relief and seeing her alone was unexpected to say the least. He went up with Mike to hug her, yet stood back. The two began their rapid conversation and he decided not to interject on it. He listened intently, closing his eyes and taking in every word. Ah. Boyfriend, he thought, Saw that coming from a mile away. He waited and waited. When his eyes widening at the mention of Anna's capture, he opened his mouth to say something, but Mike had already started talking.

"Mike's right," he finally said. His voice sounded dry and it cracked just a bit, "The four of us are more than a match for Maorde. Anna'll be back with you before you know it." He crossed his arms across his chest and looked at her intently, nodding with his trademark smirk. "I may have lost the last time I tried to hold him off, but I know what I'm up against this time." His hand twitched on his bicep - that was an ugly memory. He shuddered a bit, trying to knock it out of his mind.

With Giovanni helping, too, we've got this covered. The technology he has is downright...scary in easier terms. We'll find him and take care of this business, then finally get on with our normal lives.

Initially, Nina hadn't noticed Kilik enter the Gym with Mike, but it didn't detract from her happiness to see him. Diverting her attention from the first boy, she turned her head and approached the other. "Nice to see you again, Kilik. I appreciate your being earnest in helping me, but I just don't believe I can imagine how terribly hard it will be for us to put an end to that man. He-- he's got a terrifically strong Salamence, and I found out that that was the weakest one he has! Who knows what else he could be hoarding? I wouldn't be surprised if he presented a fricking... I don't know, Tyrannitar or Charizard or something! And not to mention he's already got my strongest Pokemon and he's trying to revive it into the Pokemon that used to be his most powerful one from ages ago. I-- gah. It's so frustrating."

She paused a moment, before chuckling softly to herself. "You must think I'm a terrible hypocrite. After all, I came asking for help from the same man that you did, which in the beginning caused me to scream and holler at you. Heh."

Kilik looked over at Mike then back at Nina, shaking his head. "Charizard?" he repeated, "Sorry, but Nitro's the strongest Charizard around here." He laughed a little bit, hopefully trying to lighten the mood. He placed his hands on her shoulders and glanced at her intently. "Listen. Regardless of what Maorde does, we're getting Anna back. She won't be lost. You have my word on that." He smiled a bit., "And he probably only told you his Salamence was his weakest to scare you. Trust me, I know all about sharp tongues and bluffing. I do it a lot."

"As for thinking you're a hypocrite, well..." he let go of her and shrugged a bit. He crossed his arms again, looking at her with a straight face. "I don't feel betrayed. You came to him without much alternative, much like I had when Mai had taken me away. Do you understand now?" he sighed, "I wasn't lying to you, Nina. I did it just like you did - I had no other alternative." His lip twitched a bit, "But I'm not mad at you. In fact, I'm very happy you came here."

The girl tilted her head a little bit, kind of smiling. "It's a shame that I finally listened to reason when Anna was stolen and Maorde seemed to know exactly where I had gone to hide out, though." She scratched the back of her head. "I should've listened to you from the beginning, but... heh, I was a bit too headstrong to do that, I guess. And, like, I know that you meant well, but I was so furious over the fact that you were going back to the man who--" Nina lowered her voice-- "well, who recruited you as a member of this syndacate, that I just lost it."

Nina tried to change the subject. "So. What're you two doing here, anyway?"

Ky enjoyed the walk outside. A nice cool breeze was in the air and the sun was beaming lightly through the cloudy sky overhead. After listening to M.A., he nodded in agreement towards her plans. Ky's reason for staying in Azalea Town was to let M.A. get her badge, but something in her voice made it sound like the badge wasn't too important to her. Then again, after the stunt they pulled, Ky wouldn't be surprised if Bugsy was too busy cleaning up to bother battling with those who caused the mess.

Once they got to the hill, Ky took a seat himself. He then placed the Pokemon food off to his side, released Sting, and let out a sigh. Ky stared up into the sky for a moment, then looked back down. "Well, I guess a lot has been up with me. That dream... I've never had anything like that before. First Little Guy starts talking to me. Then I go outside. Then my family starts talking to me. My mom first, then my brother..." Ky lets out a heavy sigh. "Then my sister, then my dad." Ky seemed to lose his focus as the image of his sister ran through his mind. The smile she had on her face still gave him shivers. "What's weird is that they talked to me with poems. I can't really remember all of them, but I can remember the ones my sister and my dad said.

"'Don't worry my little brother.
Your presence is soon to matter.
Save yourself or save another,
Either way your heart will shatter,'
was what my sister said.

"I asked my dad what she meant, and he said,
'Do not fear your father's daughter.
Just remember what she gave.
With this you'll save your friends from water,
And dodge the massive tidal wave.'

Ky then stopped to think and took a bite of his sandwich, wondering what M.A. would say to this. She had to think he was loony now, if she hadn't already thought that before. Even Sting stopped eating, confused as to why Ky looked so serious.

"What a strange dream. . . none of my dreams ever had the complexity to rhyme. Do you think you're a fortune-teller, maybe?" was her immediate response as she sat there, nibbling on her sandwich as she fell into meandering thought. The grass beneath her legs itched a bit, but she paid no attention to it. Heart shattering? Saving someone from a tsunami? Schwa? It didn't make much sense to her, honestly. Was it a riddle? None of her dreams ever had any sophistication to them, so this was perplexing to her -- why would there be such puzzling stuff in Ky's dream? Did it amount to anything, could Ky really have had some mysterious power enter his sleep, or was it just that -- a dream? But what if Ky's family was really trying to get some message across somehow? She didn't know so could only shrug helplessly. "I don't know what it means at all, assuming that it does mean something."

"But," she said, pausing for a second. They were playing on the idea that this dream was to be taken seriously, that it was not simply just a string of words and events that his subconscious had pulled together somehow. "If your father told you not to worry over your sister and what she said too much, then I'd go with him. I mean, it sounds like he has confidence in you. Assuming that this dream isn't just a dream," she said, somewhat redundantly.

A moment later, she released her three Pokemon, having temporarily forgotten that they had eaten breakfast yet.

"Should've known," Roland chuckled, placing a hand on his hip. "I wouldn't trade any of my Pokemon either!"

Furret took a few steps back at the penetrating glare from Althena, and shuddered. Soon, the pinkish Pokemon's body was glowing with the same purplish hue that was emanating from the Psyduck's eyes, and Furret knew she couldn't resist. The knowledge of her Slam attack slipped from her mind, and it was as though she never even knew it in the first place. Had she really know what had just happened, she probably would have been angry, but seeing as she couldn't quite remember what had just happened, she continued to watch her opponent carefully.

Frowning a bit now that one of his Furret's best attacks had been disabled, Roland scratched his chin thoughtfully for a second. "Try an Iron Tail attack!" he commanded finally, pointing towards Althena.

Narrowing her eyes, Furret once again quickly closed the gap between herself and her opponent, and she jumped into the air, twirling around. Her long tail began to glow silver as she swung it downwards.

Oddish hesitated. She didn't trust Train very much right now, but would another pokemon lie to her? She sure hoped not...Oddish took a few steps out, still looking a bit withdrawn, but she walked past Train and faced the Geodude.

"Thanks for the help, Pikachu! And I'm glad you decided to be my friend, Oddish!" Train said happily, turning around and standing up. The Geodude didn't do much, but Train knew it would probably fight back when she had Oddish attack it. "Alright, Oddish! Use Absorb!" Train called to her newest pokemon. Pikachu stood next to Train on all fours and watched.

Oddish glowed a faint green, and the green light also glowed around Geodude. The Geodude looked a bit confused as it's energy was drained into Oddish.
