Malik came back inside, cursing under hsi breath lightly.
"Kieran, Piper! Alaran is here, and we need to see who's going and taking what. we have thirty minutes. and Piper..if your going, you can ride dragonback. as Alaran was originally instructed to carry me if needed."
A smirk, and dictating to a slave.
"Write this down for those two vah. 'Leaving on ashort trip. do not destroy my home, and do not have anymore food fights, and if you see the imps, and they are doing things they shouldn't..feel free to eat them.' and get Nightmare saddled."

Ooooh dragon riding. Sparked the adventure aspect in any young elf that was for sure. Hitting the bottom of the stairs she cast a look to him. Blinking once as she pulled her cloak around her shoulders. "I'm going." Then a smirk as she passed by him and the slave who was indeed scribbling notes. "Tell them also to consider that choice wisely...imps may cause upset stomachs." And she continued outside to see this acclaimed dragon. Alaran was lying outside, looking patient yet annoyed. How do you approach a dragon that you were told was offering a ride? With a choice. Dragons, like griffins, were prideful creatures and were keen on respect. So she came to stand in front of the dragon, bowing to the grand creature. "Dragon Alaran...I was told that in place of Malik and from my lack of own horse, I can ride you. Though rather than taking the offer as it is handed, I leave it up to you." That was the proper dragon etiquette. And besidse...worse came to worse she could probably bribe Ashlyn or double up with Kieran or Malik, whoever.
Kieran also happened about at that time, but also with a little gust of wind that even startled the slave nearby Malik a little. He shook his head lightly. "Serino, stop playing...you have another trip to go on." And indeed, that horse materialized right there in the hall, looking none to happy....he had just got back and now he had to leave again. Walking over he gave the horse a pet. "Oh come now, don't be upset. Keeps you away from Nightmare's requests of you a little longer." A begrudged 'fine' was his answer and he tossed a look to Malik. "Leaving a day ahead of schedule are we? Sounds about right."

Alaran regarded the young elf, and isnide she was cold as ice. Another women? She couldn't handle all of these women around her wizards. She glared, but damn it, she had her orders.
But Piper woildn't be able to understand her speach without Malik there to interpret. Unless the efl could do that mind thing too, but Alaran didn't much feel like talking anyway. Instead, she stood, and offered the crook of her wing for Piper to step up on. She noded her head.

"Good point. mark that down too."
Then Malik smiled to Piper, and nodded to Kieran.
"Actually. Piper is going by dragonback, I'm taking nightmare. so are you taking Serino or Nieran? and I hope your bringing your journals, though I wager anything of importance is going to be locked up when we get there."
He chuckles nad went outside to Alaran, chuckling at the look on her face.
"Don't worry, Alaran. Piper is mine. You're wizard isn't touching her."
Then a whistle, and Nightmare came around, snorting and neighing her displeasure.
"Don't worry. Serino is apparently coming with us."

"Don't worry....there will be plenty of scribbling." A slight chuckle. "And it's Serino I'm taking. Nerian won't be back for at least a day's time." A pat to the horse, following Malik outside and pulling himself up on the Zephyr. "Can ride a Nightmare, rode a Zephmare for three seconds, and now dragons. Lucky girl." A nod to Piper then a look to Malik and his Nightmare. He patted Serino affectionately as he seems a little down trodden because Nightmare wasn't a happy Nightmare, obviously.
Alaran seemed reluctant to allow it so in turn Piper was reluctant to take it. And a look to Malik as he came out, laughing at the dragon. Well that was her motivation and she climbed up the beast, settling herself. "I'm not yours. We share each other." Though she did smile...because the thought of Malik punching wizards in the face for just looking at her in a way he didn't like was amusing. "Well then, let's get going." Dressed in blaring red and gold and obviously a little more upbeat because of it.

Alaran shook her head. She didn't care who was whose around here, as long as no one went near her Roarke. Without even so much as a glacnce to see if Piper was on, she crouhced low, and with a powerful thrust of her hind legs, launched herself into the air. She spread her wings and caught they air, taking to the sky like a fish to water. She flew fast, as was her way, every once in a while tipping her wings and skimming the surface of water or land, she almost did a few rolls, but remebered she had a passanger on her back. It would take some time before they reached the Acadamey to the north, and while Alaran didn't like having to carry a women, she always loved flying.

And off they went, Serino was faster, of course..but Nightmare kept a good pace, which didn't make Serino have to slow down too much to keep where she thought he should be as far as herd type ranking. See, she did give him a few perks. other then have the honor of breeding with her. trails of flame, made larger by teh gustign winds in Serino's wake flashed behind them some creating small flaming tornados. Malik didn't say anything during the trip, mostly just keeping his eyes and bearings on follow Alaran.

Kieran found Serino particularly amusing. He kept looking back to see if Nightmare was going to have a cow at him being ahead, often slowing down as if he was waiting to see if she wanted lead. Serino also seemed a little confused yet happy abotu not being fussed out for indeed being naturally faster. Of course Kieran also found the little flame tornadoes intersting as well. That was one power expressed easily by certain types of crossbread variations. But keeping pace or at least trying to was fun in itself as well.
Piper? Enjoying herself way too much. Sure the dragon may not be too happy with her and such Piper did her best not to further annoy the creature, and keeping all her little young elf like amusement and excitment. Being so young still even for an elf she did have those times where she reverted to alsmot childish like behavior. Hm...wonder when she'd grow out of that. Maybe the early wanderlust termination would help that. Riding a dragon though was quite like riding a Zephry, only there was the feeling of motion...gods she could be a damn good dragon rider. And she even knew when Alaran was feeling those tendencies to take to areobatics, tightening her hold...half of her wished the dragon would. Ah young elf spunk. But boy was he hair suffering...complete windswept chaos of silver and red.

Alaran sped up as they began to reach the Academy. Eager to be back to her won devices, which was makeing sure no women got it into their heads that they might become the furture Mrs. AlBlackbowman. No, that she could not have. She landed on the long pathway of steps that led up to the main entrance and foyer. She deposited Piper there, and then left to amke the ten minute transition into her human body. She might have done it there, but it was a rather grotesque sight.
Roarke waited for them on the steps. He was dressed properly, in a dark forest green cape, royal blue tails and trousers with high black boots. No spell componatns on his blet though, and no weopon that any could see. His hair was tied back in a pontytail. For all his preperations, he hadn't gotten any sleep since that time with Eliot, and it showed in the light bags under his eyes, adn the slight slump to his shoulders.

Tarathiel stopped, and noted how Lave gazed rather hostilly towards some whiff of cloud in the distance, or rather, what appeared to be a whisp of cloud from this distance to an elf. He tried to focus his eyes, not understanding what it was until the nightmarish creature took off after it. "Oh... He's going on a trip following a dragon, unless, someone else has a Nightmare too." The elf chuckled.
"I wonder, oh I wonder... What treasures do you think Malik has in his keep, little brother?" Tarathiel scratched Lavi's side. The dragon purred. "Yes, he isn't stupid enough to leave his home unwarded and unprotected." The drow prince smiled. "That should make it more fun. To think, I was about to go visit him anyway..." He laughed softly, and continued to guide Lavi through the rocky path which was being used as cover from the sea, the dragon miscoloured to match the rocks around him, and the drow wearing an elfish cloak of hiding. The travelling party was not overly clear, but the ghastly shape of the dragon followed by the fires of the horse whiping about in the air, which illuminated the darkness about them probably drawing a great deal of attention to themselves.
"I would guess that the master is taking his mount out for a spin, following that beast for good or ill, and his little bride to be is chasing after him on her lovely wind elemental." The dragon purred softly which made Tarathiel smile. "You have much better eyes then me, my friend."

Aella found her way inside StoneKeep, having gone outside to get some water. She placed the small bucket in the corner, where she could use it for cleaning dishes later on. There was a clear spring outside that offered them good water, but it's pool was small and they used it sparingly. Meilikki was sitting at the table near the fire, as she had taken to doping of late. When Aella walked in, she whipped a tear form her cheek.
"I have seen that tear too often of late, Oracle." She spoke rather kindly, like a concerned daughter for her mother. "Are you thinking of him?"
"Partially. He still haunts me. And I fear that he always will."
"Have you been able to figure out who he is?"
"Not in the least."
She nodded, clasped her hands behind her back, eyes cast down. "And the other part? What does it dwell on?"
"Inadequacies, mostly." She placed her chin in her hand, turned her blind eyes to the fire. "I see it all, and yet I can do nothing." She sighed.
"You are speaking then, of circumstances like yesterday? There was nothing you could do to help that man's child. He was to far gone already."
"Aye, such circumstances. But I knew he was going to become ill. He could have lived, if he had gotten help sooner." She stood, felt her way to stand in front of that fire, near Aella. She did not look away from the fire, though she could not see it.
"Do you know of my Ancestor? The First Oracle?" She paused a moment before continuing. "She was not just an oracle. She was a warrior. She could see, she could change. She kept cities from falling, empires from crumbling. All because she could interpret without a margin of error." She sighed, shoulders slumping. "I can do nothing but sit here and watch."

The kobold cooed as he slept, rolling around on the stone floor much as a dog might. The little creature barely reached three feet tall, and was considered to be tall for his race. The diminutive creature was the king of all kobolds, though to look at him no one could tell. He was barely larger than most of his kin, and usually not much heavier. But, what seperated this one from the others was his berserker rage.
Tames was raised as a slave in a drow court, and often forced into gladitorial games. This rearing created a strange growth within Tames, a call to power. Through the many Kobold fights, a gambling game where the toughest kobolds were selected and tossed into a cage to tear each other to peices, Tames became more and more regal. His kingliness was inspired by his battles with the other strong kobolds, as in kobold culture, the strongest creature was the king. Usually, a heiridical position, as strong kobolds usually had the strongest wives, and usually fathered the strongest sons, who in turn, killed their father to take the thrown.
Tames' secret of power was given to him by the infusion of a furious spirit into his body, much like being possessed but not completely as such. The spirit would enable Tames to gain a instintaneous burst of strength which he could use to battle his kin for dominace. This raw inner strength had caused him to surpass his race, and become the king of all kobolds.
Tarathiel discovered this power, and bought Tames at an inflated unrefusable price. He simply killed the owners and took Tames as his own. The kobold was imidiately put into use, a source of rousing the other and freer kobolds into small armies (by Tarathiel's standerds). These armies could then be commanded through Tames, and thus through Tarathiel. As long as Tames was happy, the flow of kobold minions stayed steady.
The little creature startles himself to awake, and looked about the room for Tarathiel, who still seemed to be absent. "Krelp Elp Yrrrup." Barked Tames.
Orko turned his head from his scrying device, a normal mirror which had been enchanted with the most powerful of spells, and tilted his head. He decided that it would be best if the larger creatures dealt with the chaotic little pet of the master. A wave of his hand sent a message to Warhammer. Tames needs to be put outside.
Warhammer came moments later, and picked up the kobold and took the creature outside, where he began to search the imidiate area for Tarathiel. The minotaur watched rather amused for a moment. "He will return. Nothing can stop the Captain. Even when the odds are stacked against him, and the chances for survival are next to nil, or non-existant, The Captain will live. I have personally seen a hail of arrows completely miss him, as well as watch him escape from a burning building that was also beign consumed by a Sphere of Destruction. In both cases he remained unharmed. I do not think his prolonged absense has anything to do with the High Elves he was trying to decieve. The Captain will return when he thinks it is the right time."

Piper was left on those steps where Roake was waiting, looking quite the little dishevled creature. Open wind and hair didn't make for the grandest of looks...unless you liked that sort of thing. Undoing her bandana a moment she raked her fingers and nails through her hair to pull out tangles and straighten it, then tied the red strip of cloth back on, but not so that it covered her ears. And she smoothed her hands over her clothes, tugged at her collar and cloak to straighten all that as well. Then a look to the others who followed in the dragons wake. Why hadn't she adressed Roake yet? Easy...she was much to paranoid of others in this point in time and this was Malik's business anyway, not hers.
Serino dropped his speed from hsi gallop to a mere trot and finally to a walk as he came up the pathway, easing into a stop with hooves hitting the ground when he did so. Shaking his head as Kieran dismounted him, stirring up some wind and giving a snort. Then a look to Nightmare and Malik. Hm...could he bribe her into leaving him alone till they got home? Kieran patted he Zephyr on the nose and between the ears, looking to Roake and giving the man a nod, then moving to stand next to his daughter to leave Serino to his own devices.

Nightare reared lightly flamed hooves kicking the air before settling down. the second Malik dismounted however, her red eyes moved to Serino...and she trotted lightly around him, snorting, sniffing for any trace of another mare. Though once she was through verifiying he had not been with another mare, she gave a nearly demanding nicker at him.
Malik grinned lightly at teh display, before turning his attention to Roarke.
"Greetings, Magi. Allow me to introduce to you my fiance, Piper, and her father, Kieran. He's a scholar, I'm sure you might find some of this studies interesting. So down to buisness. our mutal interest, teh Lich. any clues as to it's identity? and where is your famed library at?"

Roarke bowed to them both. "Greetings Malik, Piper, Kieran. Always good to ave those interested and knowledgeable at the Academy. I do hope our facilities meet your expectations." He turned, began the climb up the steps.
The eyes of the giant stone lions followed the little group, watching carefully.
"Down boys."
He led them up, into the main foyer with the magnificent statue and fountain, where fifty or so students were either passing through, lounging, or studying. "Welcome to the Academy. Please, watch your step. There is a fad of familiars going around at the moment. No one likes their pets bein stepped on. The library is this way, and bit of a walk I'm afraid." He pointed down the western corridor.
