He watched her sit down, a smile on his face. "So what was that back there?" he asked, touching a finger to his chin. "Locomotive Machine? What's that?" Keegan looked impatiently back towards the treatment room, hoping their Pokemon would be returned to them soon. His prayer was answered, and the nurse came back into the main room, and handed him two trays of Pokeballs. He put his own in their place, and carried the tray over to Kasiya, handing it to her. He sat down on the small table, almost in front of her, folding one leg over the other, his left hand resting on his elevated foot.

"Oh that," Kasiya grinned, starting to laugh again. "Those kids we saw outside are into anything that's 'trendy' or 'cool.' The last time we were here, they were arguing over what the newest fad was, so Mike told them it was 'Locomotive Machine' and they went absolutely nuts." She wiped a tear from the corner of her eye. "It was absolutely hilarious!"
She took her Pokemon happily, clicking them into their places on her belt, feeling whole again.

"Ahh, I see," Keegan said, laughing a bit. "Sounds like you really messed with them." He glanced to the side, spotting a magazine with a photo on the front. "Hmm, this is Brawly then?" he asked nobody in particular, studying the photo intently. "This'll be an interesting challenge," he mused, feeling excitement over the upcoming battle brewing inside. He wasn't even sure what to expect, but he'd be ready for whatever they threw at him.

"Is that so," Flannery said, glancing down at Torkoal. She had no idea of the expeditions Mike had been through, and was almost a bit jealous of his accomplishments. She quickly shrugged if off, She was a gym leader, afterall. Torkoal gave a loud yawn, a small, steady stream of smoke trailing from his mouth. She smiled, reaching for his Pokeball and recalled him, glad to know he was safe and sound.

"Maybe we should get going?" Kasiya said, standing up. She ignored the slight throbbing and weakness she felt in her ankle, and marched prouldy towards the door. "I can't wait to see you lay the smack down on Brawly!" She winked at him before stepping outside, and breathing in the salty sea air. "It's all going to be fine," she told herself aloud. "Being here in Hoenn is a good thing."

"Yeah, let's do that," Keegan nodded as he watched Kasiya walk outside. He closed his eyes and took a deep breath, and steeled himself. "I can do this," he told himself. "Even if I can't win today, there's always tomorrow." He nodded, opening his eyes and clenching his fists. "Let's do this!" he said loudly, pumping his fist into the air. He heard a slight giggle from Nurse Joy, and he turned to look at her, looking a bit sheepish.
"Good luck," the nurse smiled.
"Thanks," Keegan said, giving a thumbs-up and he headed out the door, ready as he'd ever be.

Kasiya turned to look at her companion as he made his way outside, looking ready. She was ready too, and she pointed to the Dewford Gym with a smile on her face, trying not to look at the group of 'trendy' kids for fear of another outburst of laugher. I'm glad I can see Keegan's gym match, she thought as they walked. It's a shame I missed his first one though. A slight pink spread across her cheeks, but soon faded as she glanced up at him, gently sliding her hand into his.

Giovanni paced back and forth in his office, contemplating another plan to recruit more members to Team Rocket. "Both Kilik and Kasiya are very sly individuals. But..." he clenched his fist, "Kilik's betrayed me twice already and Kasiya is too close to her friends to ever come to my side."
"Recruiting Kilik the first time was easy. He was young, impressionable. But now I'm not so sure." Giovanni sat down in his chair and looked at the door intently over his locked fingers. "I'm sure killing the Silph President left some kind of mark on him..."
Kilik left Flannery and Mike, resting in the Pokemon Center. He was laying down on the large couch in the middle of the hospital. Nurse Joy was giving all of his Pokemon a much needed check-up. He smiled at the thought of his newly evolved Weezing. He then felt something poking him in the side. "What the..." he whispered, pulling it out of his jacket pocket. "That's right," he whispered, staring down at the Metal Coat, "Rena gave this to me."
"And Rena left me too. That's three members of Team Rocket that are thrown out the window..." he growled, "because of that one boy. Kilik Ranmo," he whispered. Giovanni pulled out a folder, complete with a picture and party, right down to what badges Kilik had. "It's his fault. He's friends with Kasiya. He made Rena leave. And he's quite sly himself..." He tossed the folder against the wall.
Kilik sighed to himself, slipping the Metal Coat into his pocket. "I'm glad that Rena isn't part of Team Rocket any more," he started. He wasn't talking to anyone in particular. It was just something he had to say in order to actually know that he was getting it through to himself, "but what now? Giovanni is going to come looking for me, no doubt." He sighed heavily, crossing his arms over his chest and looking up at the ceiling.
Giovanni sneered. "I've had enough. That Kilik will die. There's no doubt about that. I will not stop..." he looked at his wall, "until Kilik's head is on my wall and his pelt on my floor!!!" he slammed his fist on the desk, a few Rocket Scientists looking up at the window. He smirked. "And I have the perfect bait..." he thought for a moment. That girl. That girl he was with outside of Goldenrod City. Nina...
The boy sat up, and looked over his shoulder. Nurse Joy stood behind him with the tray of Pokeballs. "Thank you," he said, placing the Pokeballs into the ring on his jacket. However, he kept Flareon's ball in his hand. "Here we go," he said, letting it out. Flareon appeared in a white light, barking happily. Its coat was nice and shiny; not at all like it was before. Kilik smiled at his Pokemon as it curled up next to him. I'll have to keep on my toes. Team Rocket could be at any corner. And they'll most likely go for something or someone I hold dear... he thought. Kilik pulled out his PokeNav and scrolled to Nina, clicking a button twice. Her picture appeared; a picture of her before she got her new clothes. Someone I hold dear. Nina...

Mai watched several of the low-ranking grunts moving cargo from an unmarked, black truck and into the loading bay, her arms folded over her chest, her lips forming a tight line. She was only half-seeing what the crew was doing, her mind kept straying elsewhere. She'd been asked many questions concerning the black eye she'd recieved from her sister, and she'd simply stated that a stray attack from one of her Pokemon had missed its mark, and had been no big deal. She couldn't keep from grinning when she thought of her sister throwing a punch at her. She had guts, that's for sure. Mai smirked, glancing up in time to catch two grunts chatting and not at all working.
"Back to work, you lazy scum!" she barked sharply, causing the two slackers to jump up in fright and continue on with their jobs. It may have only been minor office supplies and laboratory stock, but she didn't want to have to babysit these morons all day long. "Move it!" she hollered, hoping to speed them up some.

Keegan could only grin, and together they walked over to the gym. "This is it," he said with a nod, reaching out to open the door, not sure what to expect. It was fairly dark, and dimly lit. A pair of pedastals, one with a Meditite and the other a Machop, adorned either side of the dark and gloomy entrance hall. A lit torch, sitting in a brazier nearby, gave off the dim lighting that only allowed them to see about five feet around them. With a stern look, Keegan reached out and took the torch, ready to plunge into the darkness and whatever may wait for them.
"Stay close, you probably don't want to get lost in here," Keegan told Kasiya. He'd heard stories that many of the gyms worldwide were home to many tricks and puzzles that would only grant passage to the leader if they could be solved. Keegan made his way down the first dark corridor. A left turn lead them to a dead end, and he turned around, and headed to the right, his eyes slowly growing used to the lighting conditions in here. A figure stepped out of a shadowy corner, making him jump slightly. "Brawly?" he asked, peering at them curiously.
"You wish," she replied simply. "But I'll give you a hint if you can defeat me." She held a single Pokeball in her hand, and released her partner, a slender Mankey, that hopped back and forth on its two feet, sparring with the air.
"Bring it," Keegan replied with a grin, and released his own Pokemon - Loki, his Ekans. The snake hissed, his long tongue poking out as he prepared for battle.

Giovanni sighed heavily, gathering the papers that he threw at the wall. He stacked them together and left them on his desk. The man walked out from his desk to the window of his lab. He flipped a switch that activated an intercom. "Mai?" he annouced, "I'd like to see you in my office." The main clicked the intercom off and took his seat, opening Kilik's case file once more.
Kilik walked out of the Pokemon Center, stretching his arms out. "Mmmm!!" he said, looking at his Flareon. "Well, ready to try and find a way to Dewford?"
"Why Dewford?" said a voice. He turned to see Nurse Joy standing in the door of the Pokemon Center, "Unless you have a Pokemon with Surf, you won't get there. Mr. Briney already took a few trainers and I'm sure he's not back yet." Kilik stepped back.
"What?!" he groaned, "Then...is there any other Gyms close by?"
"There's the Petalburg Gym, but I'm not sure that Norman is in right now either. You may want to try the Gym in Mauville," she turned her back to him and walked into the Center, the door closing behind her.
"But...I can't battle Wattson. I just came from Mauville!" he barked, waving an arm about like a mad man. "Dammit!" he cursed, stamping his foot on the ground. "It's times like this that I wish I was still part of Team Rocket. Free helicopter transportation."

The summer breeze felt like a welcoming kiss on Mike's cheek. He smiled and continued along the path back to town, silent. Sand crunched under his shoes as he exited the beach. It's nice to battle a Gym Leader again, it's been a while since I had a real fight. He thought, nearly forgetting.
What about that blunder with Flannery? Like an unwanted itch, Milo had returned.
Mike merely sighed. He wanted to just forget about that. "I was just blinded by my own emotions. I won't let that happen again." The doors to the Petalburg Gym stood before him. He felt confident, the last three battles feeling like they went just as they should have. "How bad could it be?" He smiled and pushed open the door. The trainer walked inside.

There was no time for the luxery of doubt, it was fighting time. The boy walked through the many rooms of the maze like Gym, shooting the ocassional smile at the trainers he defeated and the snobs that made fun of Beacon. Mikereached the double doors with the sign above reading "Leader". Without a second thought, he pushed them open with both hands. His eyes quickly met Norman, who had an all to certain grin on his face. "So," the boy was ready to get his fourth badge. "What are the rules of this little match?"

"Thank goodness," Flannery sighed, watching Kilik walk away. The boy had given her the creeps, and she shivered slightly, despite the warm sun. "How do you know him again, Mike?" she asked, turning to look at him, but stopped, blinking as she realized he'd gone. "Where did he go?" she asked aloud, looking around. She caught a glimpse of him heading into town, and sighed. "Eager much?" she called, knowing very well he couldn't hear her. She pulled a Pokeball from her belt and threw it, releasing her Rapidash. "Let's catch up to him, okay?" she told the flaming horse as she climbed up onto its back, and it began to gallop at a very high speed towards the gym.

Kilik began exiting the property lines of the Pokemon Center when he noticed a trainer ride by on a Rapidash. "Eh?" he tilted his head. Flareon barked. "It was probably Flannery. There's no other trainer I could think of who would ride a Rapidash in Petalburg City..." he shrugged.
"Ready to head to Mauville again?" he asked Flareon.
